Rapper JayDaYoungan died around 9 pm on Wednesday, hours after it was first reported that he and his father were shot in their home state of Lousiana.

According to TMZ, the rapper died late Wednesday night as a result of his injuries. The rapper was only 24 years old. JaydaYoungan, who lives in Bogalusa, Louisiana, was hospitalized hours earlier with severe gunshot injuries sustained from a shooting incident outside his home.

According to the celebrity news site, Bogalusa police confirmed they responded to a call about the shooting before 6 pm on Wednesday.

JaydaYoungan and his father were shot outside of the home on Superior Avenue. Police officers reportedly said one of the men was taken to a local hospital by a passer-by. At the same time, the other victim was critically wounded and received emergency care by paramedics before being rushed to the hospital.

The rapper had reportedly lost a lot of blood and was rushed immediately into surgery, but as they tried valiantly to save his life, the rapper did not make it.

Meanwhile, other sources say that the rapper was not breathing when emergency responders arrived at the scene.

Lil Baby and Jaydayoungan

The rapper’s sister has denied that he passed away as she posted on Twitter, “AINT NOBODY F***ING DEAD STOP D**K EATING AND GO READ BOOK,” hours earlier.

However, it seemed that later in the night, she confirmed that her brother had passed away. “MY F***ING BABY DAWG,” she posted in another tweet with several broken hearts and crying emojis.

The rapper was popular in Bogalusa and was also well known in Louisiana. He has actively released songs since 2017 and is known for songs like “Island” off of his 2019 mixtape ‘Misunderstood,’ “Oops,” and his latest song “Almighty Flow,” released in April.

In the meantime, police have not reported any arrests or motives for the shooting. This is the second time in a week that a rapper has been killed.

Two days ago, Florida rapper Rollie Bands was gunned down outside his Tampa apartment complex after sharing his location and taunting his opps to pull up. Minutes after sharing the message on his Instagram Story, he was shot and killed.

Tems, Koffee, Burna Boy, and Rihanna are among a list of artistes featured on President Barack Obama’s Summer 2022 playlist

Koffee has once again made it on former President Barack Obama’s annual Summer Playlist, which features his favorite tracks and the artists most featured on his playlists.

On Wednesday, the Grammy-winning artist’s song “Pull Up” from her debut album Gifted appeared on Obama’s playlist. This is the sixth time Koffee has been featured on President Obama’s Summer Playlist since her breakout year in 2019, as she has appeared on several of his music lists simultaneously.

Obama’s list included 44 songs that are both past while some are also currently trending, including Drake and Rihanna’s “Too Good,” Tems‘ “Vibe Out,” Beyoncé’s “Break My Soul,” Koffee’s “Pull Up,” Burna Boy’s chart-topper “Last Last,” Kacey Musgraves’s “Keep Looking Up,” and Vince Staples and Mustard’s “Magic.”

According to President Obama, his fans and followers have exposed him to many new artists.

“Every year, I get excited to share my summer playlist because I learn about so many new artists from your replies—it’s an example of how music really can bring us all together,” Obama noted on Twitter.

Koffee’s track was the lone reggae/dancehall track, but it seems that the former President is a fan of Koffee as she is among the few artists who repeatedly appeared on his list. John Legend’s “Don’t Walk Away” featuring Koffee had made the 2020 list, while “Repeat” featuring J Hus had made it on Obama’s Favourite Music Of 2020 list.

Toast also made his 2019 Summer Playlist and Favourite Music. Last year she was not placed on the list but “Go Down Deh” by Spice, Shaggy, and Sean Paul was featured.

In the meantime, Obama also released his summer book list, which included Chris Herring’s bestselling book “Blood in the Garden: The Flagrant History of the 1990s New York Knicks” and Charmaine Wilkerson’s “Black Cake.”

Whatever songs former President Barack Obama is listening to or books he is reading will increase sales after he publishes his list of favorites.

Joe Budden Tried To Battle DMX On Set ‘Belly’ Movie And Failed

Black Immigrant Daily News

Joe Budden says he tried to battle DMX but it didn’t go as planned.

The former Slaughterhouse rapper is known for his colorful personality, and following a recent revelation, it seems he’s led a pretty colorful life as well. Joe Budden recently revealed that he once tried to battle the legendary DMX on the set of the 1998 Hype Williams movie Belly.

Joe Budden explained just how the encounter happened during a recent appearance on the Flip Da Script Podcast. He even gave details of how he approached the deceased rapper after he saw him shooting a scene in the film outside of his mother’s home in New Jersey.

The “Walk With Me” rapper jokingly added that he was battling DMX, but the late rapper had no trouble in taking him down.

“It was me just rapping, but he was supposed to rap. This was on — they shot [one of the scenes in] Belly outside of my mom’s building, which was Jersey City. So I caught DMX on one of them nights, but he had to go shoot a scene,” he added.

Admitting defeat at the hands of the iconic rapper, Budden also shared that the encounter helped give him the spark he needed to pursue what would become a successful career. He explained that it was after that encounter that he was able to connect with Swizz Beatz. That connection led to a decision to try and put him in a group with rappers Cassidy and Drag-On, even though that never came to fruition.

Joe Budden added that the group never materialised because it was very early in everyone’s career and nobody had made it yet. The combination at the time just didn’t work, he added. Even so, he was thankful to Swizz for having a vision for his career.

“It just didn’t work. I didn’t even learn about that until a few years later. I was just coming around rhyming, maybe Swizz had plans. This was before anybody was anybody.”

His relationship with the production guru never materialized into anything but it was these early encounters that gave him the impetus to transition into working with Just Blaze, who went on to produce his 2003 breakout hit “Pump It Up.”

Even though he did not go on to work with DMX, Budden has openly revealed that he has nothing but respect for the Ruff Ryders legend. After his death in April 2021, he used his The Joe Budden Podcast to publicly state just that.

During that podcast, he said he had nothing but the utmost respect for DMX and the road that he paved for himself. He also shared that he always enjoyed meeting up with the “Slippin” rapper as they always hit it off.

“I was in a studio where I wasn’t supposed to be at and bumped into him. I was walking down Collins in Miami and bumped into him. I was in Atlanta somewhere and bumped into him. You could see him and speak to him — and he would talk to you! No matter what the f#ck was going on with him,” he added.

Even with all the respect he has for Swizz Beatz, they recently got into it after he co-signed a tweet claiming uncredited singer Jermaine Paul “cooked” his wife Alicia Keys on her 2004 hit “Diary.”

At the time, Swizz responded swiftly to his claim as he tweeted, “Let’s not do this ! I never get into your zones! Leave my wife out of everything but greatness! Please.”

Shenseea & Skillibeng Makes It “Rain” On New Collab Dropping Friday

Shenseea and Skillibeng teases their new collaboration dropping tomorrow.

The summer is about to get a little hotter after Shenseea and Skillibeng drop their collab, “Rain.” The hard-working songstress made the announcement via her Instagram account earlier today, July 28, and revealed that the track will drop tomorrow, July 29.

Shenseea posted a teaser clip of the song, and it looks like she will be flexing her rapping skills on this one which should complement Skillibeng’s mixed dancehall approach well. The beat has elements of hip-hop in it, but dancehall still rings through.

The “Blessed” singer looks like she went with a bit more grit for this track as she sings in an explicit verse: “I’m a rich b**ch, not a simp b**ch, Swipe mi own card and check mi wish list, See, I might scam a n***a, I’m ambitious, but I don’t sell pu**y God’s my witness, Nah beef wid a b**ch about a d**k. Too much mon ah road mi can pick, This gyal love n***as who trick But yute?”

At the time of writing this article, the short clip had been posted just about three hours and had already received considerable support from the Shenyeng army as it had already garnered over 180,000 views.

Her former manager Romeich showed his support in the comments section along with Anju Blaxx and veteran dancehall deejay Ce’Cile.

One excited fan commented, “this is a collab mi a wait pon f***a ooun wey say skilli dis sheng wey ooun dey??!!n listen mi talk long time eno no waganist to the YENG BOSS go fi dem RAJ MUMMY.”

At the same time, another added, “The most unexpected collab This just happen outta nowhere so, no likkle heads up.”

Romeich Major, Shenseea, Skillibeng

The comment section was also flooded with fire emojis, as many others noted that this one could dominate the club scene this summer.

The collab should put to rest rumors that there were some tensions growing between the two. That rumor started in February around Valentine’s Day when The E-Syde deejay released his track “Love Handles.”

Many fans immediately locked into one lyric from the song: “Mi wi dead fi yuh, yuh nuh have ten man a touch yuh one time like Shenseea.”

Folks on social media began to speculate that there was some bad blood between the two, especially since the song came out a few hours after Shenseea posted a controversial photo on Instagram with four men caressing her.

The photo was for a photo shoot for her track “R U THAT,” which featured rapper 21 Savage. Adding more fuel to the rumor mill was the fact that Shenseea had come under fire from Skillibeng’s producer, Johnny Wonder, for using the beat of “Crocodile Tears” on Funkmaster Flex’s show to freestyle and not crediting Skillibeng.

Skillibeng eventually removed the audio from social media, but the track is still available on YouTube and other streaming platforms.

That all seems like water under the bridge now, as this track is sure to have fans dancing and asking for more from the pair.

Check out the teaser below and let us know your thoughts on this fire collab.
