50 Cent Bans Trey Songz and His Shenanigans From Tycoon Weekend

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Urban Islandz

50 Cent called out Trey Songz on Tuesday, whom he said is banned from future events due to his bad behavior, which included breaking up things at the event and brawling over women.

50 Cent’s Tycoon Houston Comedy Music Fest took place last weekend. The event drew in a large crowd who were there to support the rapper and producer’s G-Unity Foundation, which hosted the event to raise funds for charity.

The event was held at the Toyota Center on August 25 and featured comedians B-Simone, Karlous Miller, Michael Blackson, Bill Bellamy, DC Young Fly, Jess Hilarious, Gary Owen, Lil Duval, and D’Lai. 50 Cent also gave a closing performance along with surprise “guest friends.”

The event funds all go to G-Unity Foundation and the G-Unity Business Lab with the Houston Independent School District to support students’ educational ventures, especially in business.

However, it seems that Trey Songz’s attendance for the second year in a row left a sour taste in 50 Cent’s mouth as he blasted the R&B singer for creating mayhem. 50 Cent shared on his Instagram account a poster with a stamp that said ‘Banned From Tycoon,’ which was plastered in red over a photo of Songz.

The ‘Power’ producer is usually jovial and hilarious with his posts about others, especially his trolling, but he appeared very serious as he shared that Songz not only misbehaved at a past event but he was also fighting this time around.

“Last TYCOON he crashed a Wraith,” 50 began. “This TYCOON he was acting crazy, wanting to fight and sh8t over the girls. He broke some sh*** up in his room. Nah tell @treysongz he can’t come. SMH,” the rapper said.

Trey Songz has not responded to 50 Cent as yet, but he has been very quiet since the year started as several women have accused him of sexual assault. He had a mini week last month after a witness confessed that an attorney promised to pay her if she lied about witnessing Songz assaulting a woman. A determination of that case has not been made as yet.

He is still facing allegations and a pending civil suit from former UNLV basketball player Dylan Gonzalez who accused him of raping her at a Las Vegas hotel.

Gov’t outlines measures to boost safety and security in schools Loop Jamaica

Black Immigrant Daily News

In light of several violent confrontations between students last school term, the Education and Youth Ministry has outlined several measures aimed at bolstering safety and security in schools.

Among the initiatives are the installation of closed-circuit security television (CCTV) cameras at six schools over the 2022-2023 academic year.

The cost of installation is expected to cost approximately $15 million, according to fo Education and Youth Minister, Fayval Williams.

The installation of the CCTV cameras will commence at Oracabessa High School in St Mary, Grange High School in Westmoreland, Papine High School in St Andrew, Eltham High in St Catherine, Denham Town High School in Kingston, and Hopewell High in Hanover.

In addressing a back-to-school press conference on Thursday, Williams highlighted the several social media videos of students in violent confrontations when full face-to-face engagement for all schools got underway in March of this year.

When schools reopen on September 5, Williams said metal detectors will continue to be across all secondary schools.

“Random searches for items that may cause harm to others will go on, as well,” she said.

To also assist with maintaining discipline and safety in schools, the minister indicated that 129 deans of disciplines were employed.

“We’ve increased the number of guidance counsellors by 98 to 1,016. We continue to implore our principals, our teachers and administrators to heighten their awareness and increase their vigilance,” said Williams.

“We will continue to have a team of psychologists and agencies that provide guidance for students – those who may be coming back into the face-to-face environment and will need some increased socialisation and increased behavioural management,” she stated.

Researchers warn that Molly increasing risk of unsafe sex Loop Jamaica

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Jamaica News Loop News

Research Analyst at the National Council on Drug Abuse (NCDA), Uki Atkinson, is warning that the continued use of Molly could increase the risk of unsafe sex and health challenges.

In fact, Atkinson shared that students are of the view that Molly can be used, especially by women, to get them in the mood for sexual activity.

A Rapid Situational Assessment on Drug Use in secondary schools conducted in May, has found that Molly is emerging as one of the most popular drugs being used by teenagers locally.

Speaking at a press conference to present the findings of the assessment, Atkinson said the island did not have a “pill-popping culture” or a drug injection culture.

However, she said “things are changing”, and the NCDA and other agencies must implement the necessary prevention control measures that are necessary.

Molly acts on three main neurotransmitters, which are serotonin, dopamine and norepinephrine, according to the research analyst.

“These things control things like mood and aggression, sexual activity, our sleep, feelings of pain, blood pressure, heart rate, emotions, and motivation,” Atkinson outlined.

“In the short term, it can increase our heart rate, increase our blood pressure, cause muscle tension, teeth clenching, nausea, higher body temperature, and most importantly, increase the risk for unsafe sex,” she added.

The research analyst shared that Molly has been trending in the Dancehall sphere, especially at parties, and persons have been calling for its issuance at parties to desist.

She said anecdotally, persons have indicated that Molly has been mixed with alcohol and ganja at parties.

Atkinson said from the assessment and focus groups, students were able to describe what the pills looked like, how it was crushed and placed into alcohol, and the influence music had on its use, among other things.

“Students spoke about pills costing as low as $300 and as high as $2,500. What does this suggest? Internationally, it is known that Molly has a high potential for mixing with other drugs,” Atkinson explained.

“Another thing that came up is that it is felt to be a drug that is useful for sexual activity.

“What some students said is that when some women use the Molly they get on freaky, and Molly is for women and ecstasy is for men,” she said.

However, Atkinson said it is clear from those accounts that students do not have an idea of what Molly is, because “Molly and Ecstasy are the same thing.”

She said that some students also have expressed the view that the risk levels associated with using Molly are low.

“In other words, they think it is just a feel good, fun drug, and the fact that it can have serious impact on their health is not wildely known,” the research analyst shared, adding that the report for the rapid assessment details more from the students’ perspectives.

Though alcohol is not as popular anymore, Atkinson noted that it is still being used by some students in creative ways by soaking gummy bears in it and rebranding it as ‘Rummy Bears’.

The assessment also revealed that guidance councillors pointed out that students were struggling with issues relative to suicidal ideation, depression and anxiety.

Serena Williams showed she has no intention of ending her singles career without a fight after beating second seed, Estonian, Anett Kontaveit on another remarkable night at the US Open.

Williams, ranked 605th and turning 41 next month, won 7-6 (7-4), 2-6, 6-2 to stun Kontaveit in New York last night.

Williams recently announced her intention to retire after her home major and is now into the third round.

Williams will play Australia’s Ajla Tomljanovic next tomorrow.

A few weeks ago, in an essay for fashion magazine, Vogue, Williams announced that she was “evolving away” from playing tennis, but agreed after beating Montenegro’s Danka Kovinic on Monday that she had been vague about her exact timeline.

While lacking some of the pomp and ceremony from her opening match on Monday, there was another special atmosphere last night as 23-time major singles champion Williams looked to extend her storied career by at least another round.
