‘Power’ Stars Joseph Sikora and Gianni Paolo Squash Beef, It’s All Good

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Urban Islandz

Joseph Sikora and Gianni Paolo have squashed their beef as the actors were recently spotted hugging it out.

In photos and videos shared over the weekend, the two actors were seen hanging out with cast member Michael Rainey Jr., and they all appeared in good spirits, with one photo showing Joseph Sikora and Gianni Paolo hugging. The three actors also appear to be shooting on an episode of The Crew Has It Podcast, where they are expected to clear the air and address the beef.

Michael Rainey Jr. also shared a snippet of the upcoming appearance where the two men shared a laugh and hug.

Last month, ‘Power’ producer 50 Cent reacted to the two Power Book actors beefing. The producer, although finding the whole thing amusing, also asked that the two actors, who are the only two main Caucasian actors in the series, to make up.

The beef was noticeable at 50 Cent’s Tycoon event in Houston, Texas, recently, where the men appeared to ignore each other. Tensions continued with the younger of the two, Gianni, who plays actor Brayden in ‘Power’ calling out Joseph, who plays ‘Tommy.’

“You pressed? I would be too,” Gianni had said- “some ppl just insecure [shrugging and crying emoji].”

He continued in an Instagram Story, “[I’ve] shown nothing but love for the ppl before me. I respect 50 way too much to do that.”

Gianni later shared a screenshot of a comment where Joseph appeared to shade him.

“Listen I was gonna leave this s**t alone but ppl Keep sending me this and this dude just straight up telling lies. It’s not ‘all good’, I asked him in the elevator what his deal was with me cause he’s been doing this sit for years when I’ve shown nothing but respect and love .. he kept just saying he doesn’t f**k with me. Nothing was resolved. Stop spreading lies cause people are pressing you about your saltiness,” he said in a lengthy post.

50 Cent, however, wanted the actors to shut things down. It’s good that the two actors made peace as 50 Cent heads to a new network with his TV shows.

Rowdy Rebel is not in agreement his Bobby Shmurda that he was wrong to speak on King Von’s death.

Last week, Bobby Shmurda and NBA YoungBoy were locked in a heated back and forth on social media, which came much as a surprise to fans. It turned out that a statement by Rowdy Rebel on King Von’s death in an interview triggered the Baton Rouge rapper to respond, which in turn earned a response from the New York rapper.

In a new interview on the My Expert Opinion podcast, Bobby Shmurda elaborates more on what Rowdy Rebel said, saying he thought Rebel was in the wrong for even speaking on the situation. On the same podcast, Rebel says he believed that King Von’s alleged killer, Lul Tim, went too far in what appeared to be a fistfight.

“He meant it in a good way, like, he wished that none of that sh*t would have ever happened because he a fan of [King Von and Quando Rondo],” Shmurda said. “But sometimes, we can’t talk on other people sh*t. So, Rowdy know he was in the wrong for that. But he didn’t mean it in a wrong way. It came from…an older Black guy liking a younger Black guy and liking both of their music. But that’s gon’ happen all the time. It happened to 2Pac and Biggie.”

Bobby Shmurda added that when emotions are running high, sometimes it’s better not to speak on the situation. Still, Rowdy Rebel doubles down on what he said.

“I said what I said,” the rapper shared on Instagram while making it clear that he would never beef with his comrade. “I cud never beef with my brother Bobby he freed me from a whole bid. But yu other niggas hurd what I said.”

Rowdy Rebel / Instagram

Bobby Shmurda and Rowdy Rebel both did prison stints after taking plea deals in a Rico case in New York. The “Hot Ni**a” rapper tried to get out of the deal, but the judge denied the request and thus sentenced him to 7 years in prison. Since his release from prison in February last year, the rapper has been focused on having fun and living his best life. This is perhaps the first time he was engaged in a beef with another rapper since leaving prison.

NBA YoungBoy has not responded to the new statement by Rebel.

Popcaan is confirmed as one of the local Jamaican artists who will be performing alongside Burna Boy on December 18.

Last week, Solid Agency announced the Nigerian Afrobeats artist’s first stop in the land of Bob Marley, which has led to much excitement from his fans locally. On Instagram, Popcaan confirmed his booking with a brand-new event poster showing himself and Burna Boy on the cover.

Burna Boy’s Jamaica stop is part of his “Love Damini” tour that will see him performing in Suriname on December 14, the twin island of Trinidad and Tobago on December 16, Antigua and Barbuda on December 17, and then Jamaica on December 18.

The event will be held at the National Stadium in Kingston, and doors will be open early, around 3 PM. Early bird ticket prices beginning with general tickets are $7,500 while VIP is $18,000 or U$130, and VVIP at $45,000 or U$300.

Burna Boy’s presence in Jamaica sparks a lot of excitement as he is the first Afrobeats artist to visit the island. Afrobeats has received much support from Jamaicans, especially as the genre was inspired by Jamaican dancehall music. Many of the pioneers continue to pay homage to Jamaican music and culture.

The Grammy-nominated artist has also had a successful 2022 as he copped a nomination for Best Global Music Album for Love Damini, his sixth studio album, and another nomination for Best Global Music Performance for “Last Last,” which was recently certified platinum in the United Kingdom.

Last week, Billboard also revealed that he was among the top 5 artists of the Afrobeats genre that charted, coming second behind Tems, who led the list.

His latest tour included stops in Zurich, Stockholm, Dublin, and an upcoming Orlando stops before his Caribbean leg begins.

Popcaan is currently working on his new album, tentatively titled Great Is He. The St. Thomas native recently released his new single “Next To Me,” featuring his rumored girlfriend Toni-Ann Singh. Popcaan and Burna Boy also released a collaboration dedicated to Toni-Ann Singh earlier this year. The two artist will be performing the single.

DJ Akademiks Says Lil Baby Battling Demons In Responding To Diss Track

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Urban Islandz

DJ Akademiks continues to speak about Lil Baby, who dissed him last month on his new album, It’s Only Me.

Speaking with Vlad TV, the hip hop podcaster bashes Lil Baby and even claims that the rapper has a learning disability. Just last month, Lil Baby dropped several lyrical disses for Akademiks after the Instagram personality called his album “mid” earlier this year. In his album, ‘There’s Only Me’ released last month, the rapper disses Akademiks net worth.

On the song “From Now On,” featuring Future Lil Baby raps, “Akademiks know he ain’t as rich as me!!!”

In the song “Top Priority,” he also rapped, “Akademiks N****s think they can’t get touched/Ion be on computers much, CED turnt me on to YouTube.”

In the interview, DJ Akademiks releases his own diss directed at Lil Baby, noting that the rapper can’t win against him, a journalist.

“My new nickname for baby is ‘Short Bus Baby’. He’s clearly not that smart, bro. no one with half a brain would even think to discuss me and Lil Baby. It sounds stupid to say financially,” he said.

“He has one of those Tourettes moments every now and then, you see him in the corner he’s just punching the air, he’s just flipping the water bottle, He’s battling the percs and a lot of demons and I get that. The first one though, I felt like he was a little bit wild, when a rapper starts to threaten, I’ve said this to every rapper in the game, you will never win versus the media,” he added.

DJ Akademiks continued, “When the media drives a narrative, the media gives the tint your career is viewed in, your personality is viewed in. I know a lot of rappers who don’t get certain types of looks or they’re not seen as favorably by the audiences is because what? they are asshole to journalists.”

Last month, Akademiks went on an extensive rant where he claimed that he was ready to testify against Lil Baby if a racketeering case is dropped on his 4PF crew.
