Drake makes a statement with his latest custom necklace.

The Certified Lover Boy is hinting to the world how many times he has chosen a diamond ring over the course of his career as he debuts a new custom necklace with 42 diamonds which were taken from 42 engagements that never took place.

In a video shared on Tuesday, the artist reveals a collaboration with Alex Moss – a custom diamond chain that falls in the center like a string.

“New piece titled ‘Previous Engagements’ for all the times he thought about it but never did it,” jewelry designer Alex Moss described the chain in a video showing it off.

The chain has “42 engagement rings, 351.38 carats in diamonds,” and was “an expedition spanning 14 months, every diamond hand selected, inspected to only suit perfection. This monumental art piece was assembled using 351.38 carats of diamonds mounted in 18k white gold,” the jewelry maker said.

Drake’s chain has piqued the personality of many who wondered who all the 42 women were. He has been romantically linked to Rihanna and Nicki Minaj, Rashida Jones, Tyra Banks, SZA, and Julia Fox, just to name a few.

Drake also has his son Adonis with French artist and former pornstar Sophie Brussaux.

Now, Drake is well-known for his fancy jewelry, but the storytelling for “Previous Engagements” has taken the case. Among Drake’s extravagant pieces are his many decorated chains and pendants, particularly featuring the owl, which is the signature sign for his OVO label.

Meanwhile, fans online reacted to the ‘Her Loss’ rapper’s latest chain.

“That’s because he’s still waiting on Kiki to fall in love with him,” one fan wrote.

“42 times!?!? And you all have the audacity to talk about JLo collecting rings!?” another person wrote.

“42 times, every time he got head he wanted to propose,” another said.

Cardi B and Offset are in Jamaica for the Migos rapper’s 31st birthday celebrations. On Tuesday, Cardi B shared that she and Offset were in the tropical paradise to celebrate his big day on December 14.

In a series of Instagram Stories, Cardi B showed off her nails as she and Offset got ready in their jet to go to Jamaica. In another story, she captioned a video, “My birthday love,” which showed Offset up close for the first time since his cousin and Migos member Takeoff had been killed.

In other videos, Cardi showed Offset standing by the ocean side smoking, and she also gave a view of the lush greenery. In other posts, Cardi gets adventurous as she reveals her glowing suntanned skin while riding around in a go-cart with Offset.

“Ketch di island, we on di island,” Offset says in the video in response to Cardi B saying that she was scared. The couple also appeared to have visited the popular tourist attraction Dunns River Falls, but while Offset seemed ready to climb the falls, Cardi was not up for it.

“Aww hell no,” Cardi repeats after Offset, who is seen plunging into the river water which was probably cold.

The Bronx beauty also shared a video with Offset and herself sipping cold coconut water while they enjoyed some Jamaican food with her sister Hennessy Carolina who was there too.

It’s unclear if the children visited but Offset also shared stories on his Instagram account. One of them featured Cardi B’s bikini and cover-up with Wale’s “Bag of Money” playing in the background.

It’s been a particularly tough time for Cardi B and Offset since Takeof’s death on November 1 last month.

This week, the rapper revealed a tribute to his late cousin, who spoke about his love for Takeoff. In a recent concert, the rapper revealed that he will continue to honor Takeoff at the beginning of his shows with the Jackson 5’s 1971 classic song “Never Can Say Goodbye” at the beginning of his set.

It’s good to see Offset smiling again after revealing that he has been in a dark place since the passing of Takeoff.

Megan Thee Stallion Testified Seeing Tory Lanez Shot Her & Yelled ‘Dance B*tch’

Black Immigrant Daily News

Megan Thee Stallion on Tuesday testified that she saw Tory Lanez and not Kelsey Harris, who shot her.

The Houston rapper was called to the stand of the Downtown Los Angeles court as the first prosecution witness on Tuesday. Tory Lanez is on trial for assault with a firearm, illegal possession of a firearm, as well as an additional charge of negligent discharge of a gun in relation to shooting Megan Thee Stallion in July 2020.

According to Los Angeles Times reporter James Queally, Megan became emotional after Los Angeles County Deputy Dist. Atty. Kathy Ta questioned whether she knew Lanez.

“I just don’t feel good… I can’t believe I have to come in here and do this,” Megan said.

The prosecution quizzed Megan about the events of the day, starting with the party at Kylie Jenner’s house. According to Megan, she asked to leave the event, which displeased Tory. She denied the defense’s claim that she was kicked out of the party for going on a drunken tirade.

The rapper went on to describe the events as summarized by the prosecution on Monday, which is that she, along with Tory, Kelsey Harris, and Tory’s bodyguard, were in an SUV when an argument erupted between her and Tory while on Nichols Canyon Road.

“I’m in the peak of being famous and I’m in a thong … and I look all crazy,” Megan explained the reason for remaining in the SUV.

During the argument, Megan said Tory told her “to stop lying” to Harris about their involvement which led to an uproar from Kelsey. Megan also confirmed that she and Tory did have a “sexual relationship” after spending time as friends and bonding over the loss of their mothers.

This would be the first time Megan has admitted to accusations by Tory that they had a sexual relationship. In Gail King’s interview earlier this year, she was adamant that she did not sleep with the rapper.

On the stand, Megan Thee Stallion explained that her now ex-best friend, Kelsey Harris, had a “crush” on Tory, and the information revealed by the Canadian singer led to an argument with Tory calling both women “b**ches and hoes.”

Tory also made remarks about Megan’s career, and she replied in kind. She said this set off the rapper and led to her requesting the driver to stop and let her out of the SUV.

Megan claims that she was walking away from the SUV when Tory fired five shots towards her before shouting, “dance, b**ch!”

“I’m in shock. I’m scared. I hear the gun going off and I can’t believe he’s shooting at me. [Lanez] looked shocked. Kelsey looked shocked. JaQuan [the driver/Lanez security] looked shocked,” Megan said.

Megan explained that she returned to the car out of fear that the police might hurt them if they called for help.

“At this time we are at the height of police brutality… I felt if I said this man had shot me, they might shoot first and ask questions later. I don’t feel safe in the car. I don’t feel safe with the police,” she said.

The Hotties rapper shared that while they were in the SUV and she tried to use towels to stop the bleeding, Tory Lanez promised to pay her and Kelsey $1 million each if they did not report the incident to the police. The rapper claimed that he would be in serious trouble as he was on probation for another weapons case.

Megan Thee Stallion has been heavily criticized for not reporting the shooting right as it happened, as Lanez was charged weeks later. However, Megan explained that she was fearful because “in the Black community, it’s not really acceptable to be cooperating with police officers.”

Megan also testified that Tory had reached out to her to apologize for shooting her. She even described a phone call where Tory told her that he could see “the pain in her eyes” from a video of her bleeding and being approached by police officers.

“Why are you being weird? You know you shot me and now you’re watching me?” Megan said in court in reference to that call.

When pressed as to why she took weeks to publicly identify Lanez as the shooter, Megan said she was fearful that her young career could be clipped, especially in a male-dominated industry like hip hop.

“This whole situation in the industry is like a big boys club,” Megan testified on the witness stand. “Like I’m telling on one of y’all friends, now you’re all about to hate me.”

Megan’s testimony will be cross-examined by defence counsel George Mgdesyan. The defense has questioned Megan’s reasons for not immediately reporting the shooting and has hinted that her best friend, Kelsey was the one who fired the gun after the two women fought over him following the disclosure of their sexual relationship in the car.

The prosecution has outlined evidence to come from Harris that she saw Tory Lanez shoot Megan Thee Stallion. The high profile trial is expected to wrap this week.

Shaggy Doubtful About Future Shaggy & Friends Show Over Character Attacks

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Urban Islandz

Shaggy and Friends charity concert might go extinct thanks to unfounded attacks on the dancehall legend.

Shaggy is responding to a newspaper report claiming that he has not turned over the JM$100 million raised from the last staging of his Shaggy and Friends benefit concert in 2018. This is not the first time that the Jamaican artist has been forced to clear the air. But a visibly annoyed Shaggy assured donors that the funds will be used for the intended purpose.

According to a local newspaper report on Monday, Health Minister Dr. Christopher Tufton shared his concerns that five years later, the funds have not flowed to the children of the Bustamante Children’s Hospital, the beneficiary of the funds raised by the Shaggy Make A Difference Foundation. In a new interview with the Observer, the “Angel” deejay says they are now in the planning phase to refurbish and expand portions of the hospital to accommodate more kids and give better care.

“We have to get a budget together, drawings done, contractors,” he said while noting that it takes time to get the best team in place for the job. “We have to get all of them in place first and get the best.”

Shaggy also noted that part of the delay was the global pandemic which lasted the better part of two years or more. Coupled that with other roadblocks in getting land space secured for the original plan to build a new facility. In responding to the recent newspaper headline, the artist makes it clear that he and his team have never operated under the intention that they would simply hand over funds they raised. He stated that funds have always been used to buy equipment and refurbish the hospital.

In addressing the burning question of whether or not he will host another staging of his benefit concert, Shaggy says it remains a matter to be discussed with his partners, who are disgusted by the attacks.

“In my heart of hearts I would love to because you have to put the children first and we saw the good that it did,” he said. “It is not a conversation for myself, it is a conversation that involves these people (partners of Shaggy and Friends). The preliminary conversation I have had with them, they are a little gutted and disgusted by the situation.”

Shaggy ended by saying that perhaps time will change things down the road, but when that time comes, he and his team will make the decision.
