News Americas, NEW YORK, NY, Weds. Sept. 2, 2026: Internationally acclaimed Jamaican tenor and entertainer Steve Higgins will open the Rose & Alfred Miniaci Performing Arts Center’s 2026–2027 season with “Moonlight, Memories & Music” on Saturday, Sept. 5, at 8 p.m. in Davie, Florida.

Higgins will be joined by vocalists Dahlia Wynter and April Marr for an evening spanning jazz, Broadway and musical-theater favorites, romantic ballads, Italian classics and Jamaican music inspired by the timeless spirit of Harry Belafonte. The concert will also blend storytelling, humor and audience interaction, creating an intimate celebration of music, memory and culture.

Higgins has spent more than 25 years performing across the United States, Europe, Asia and the Caribbean. A former member of the internationally acclaimed Jamaican Folk Singers, he performed with the group for more than two decades under noted folklorist and ethnomusicologist, Dr. Olive Lewin.

He later founded the South Florida Caribbean Chorale and has continued to promote Jamaican music and culture internationally. His recordings include Sacred, All for You, Dis Long Time and Echoes of Jamaica.

“My passion has always been to interpret music properly, soundly and positively,” Higgins said in a previous interview with the Jamaica Observer. Wynter brings extensive musical-theater experience, while Marr’s repertoire includes jazz, R&B, show tunes, ballads and sacred music.

VIP packages are available and include premium seating, a post-show photograph with Higgins, and merchandise giveaways. The performance will take place at the Rose & Alfred Miniaci Performing Arts Center on the Nova Southeastern University campus in Davie.
