Très tôt ce vendredi matin, un jeune de 18 ans a été blessé à Sainte-Rose. Il a été transporté au Chu.
Très tôt ce vendredi matin, peu avant 3 heures et demie, les secours ont été alertés suite à une violente agression sur le Chemin de la Boucan, près de la Poste, à Sainte-Rose,
Arrivés sur place, les pompiers ont découvert un homme de 18 ans, grièvement blessé.
Selon nos informations, la victime a été frappée à de multiples reprises avec un coutelas.
L’homme a immédiatement été soigné et transporté au CHU.
Sur place, trois pompiers et une brigade de la gendarmerie étaient présents.

The St James Police have charged 33-year-old Rushawn Patterson, otherwise called ‘Chizzie’, of a Harvey River in Hanover, with the murder of 35-year-old social media influencer, Aneka Townsend, otherwise called ‘Kayan’ or ‘Slickianna’.
Townsend’s body was retrieved by the Marine Police from the sea in the Reading area of St James on October 21, 2022.
A post-mortem examination on her body, conducted on November 5, concluded that her death was caused by strangulation.
The police said in a release Friday that the post-mortem estimates that Townsend was killed some time between 11pm October 20 and 9am October 21.
“During the course of this investigation, an abundance of forensic, cyber-forensic and other technological evidence has been collected. Following consultations with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) and the JCF Legal Services Division, Patterson was formally charged with murder this afternoon (November 11, 2022),” the police said in its release.
According to the police, on October 20, Townsend travelled from Kingston to Montego Bay, St James, where she was picked up by Patterson at approximately 7:30pm.
During the course of the evening, they visited a restaurant in Hanover and a guest house in St James, the police said.
At some point during in the night, an argument developed between them, which resulted in Patterson allegedly strangling Townsend and disposing of her body.
The police said, too, that 47-year-old security guard, Rohan Rose, otherwise called ‘Early B’, was charged with misprision of a felony in relation to the same matter.
“In the three weeks since the investigation into her death began, the St James and Hanover police have conducted a high-level investigation that has benefitted from the support of the Area 1 Operational Support Team, the Communication Forensic & Cybercrime Division (CFCD), the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB), the Technical Services Division (TSD), the Specialised Operations Branch, the Jamaica Defence Force, as well as Jamaica Eye,” the polie said.
Patterson was arrested on November 2 during a high-level, intelligence-driven operation.
The police said he was later charged in relation to an unrelated case of assault that occurred in the St Andrew South Police Division.
“This charge is stemming from an incident that occurred in 2018, where he was alleged to have physically assaulted a female after a jealous rage. That matter will be mentioned in the Kingston and St Andrew parish court,” the police said.
The police also said that investigations are ongoing as it is suspected that Patterson may have been involved in other incidents similar to those for which he has been charged.
Detectives are, therefore, appealing to the public for any information that may assist in the investigations. Persons may contact the Montego Bay CIB at 876-684-9080, Crime Stop at 311, Police Emergency at 119 or the nearest police station.

SOCA SYMPHONY can make it three wins from four starts at the Santa Rosa Park, Arima on Saturday, in the feature race on Race Day 17, of the Arima Race Club (ARC) 2022 season.
The four-year-old, trained by John O’Brien, has been in good form of late and will be fancied to prevail in this 1,350-metre race, which carries a purse of $17,710.
Like Soca Symphony, Patta Patta is also seeking a third win from four at Arima, while Finishing Touch is on a three-race win streak at Santa Rosa Park.
Also listed to compete in the feature race are General JN, Stroke of Luck, Desert Dancer, Making Headlines, Super Bird and Leonardo Angel.
In all, 58 horses have been entered in the seven-race card, which carries a post-time of 1.05 pm.

THE body of a Chaguanas man was found in the trunk of a car in Maracas St Joseph on Friday afternoon.
Police reported that at about 12.35 pm, officers responded to a report of an abandoned car, a Honda Grace, along the Maracas Royal Road near the University of the West Indies.
They said the car was unlocked, with the key in the centre console, and the spare tyre on the back seat. On checking the trunk, the body of Jessie Rogers, 27, of Enterprise Street, Longdenville, was found.
Police found two 9 mm spent shells near the car. There were several plastic bags over Rogers’ head, police said.
The killing took the murder toll to 526 for the year compared to 372 for the same period last year.

Acting Police Commissioner McDonald Jacob says while he hoped TT would not rank as high in certain categories of crime, it was important to avoid misinterpreting global crime rankings.
On Wednesday a US State Department’s travel advisory called on Americans to reconsider travel to Trinidad and Tobago because of crime.
Responding to the advisory during a media briefing at the Police Training Academy, St James, on Friday, Jacob said he was not proud of the advisory.
Referring to global crime rankings given to different countries on websites, he said one such website placed Trinidad as being number 14 for murders and number six for other serious crimes.
He urged the public to consider that these crime rankings were generated as a result of arrests and charges brought by the police.
“It is not just looking at the crimes that are committed, but we are looking at the crimes that the police may solve.
“Let us say we hold 600 people for firearm possession, that will be counted because we charged.
“If we hold a lot of people for fraud offences or solve a lot of fraud offences, it will be there (on the website), so we are number six and we understand that.
“We would not like to be number six, we would like to be lower, but they look at the general numbers.”
Jacob also urged the public to be careful when interpreting and repeating the figures presented, as without context they could do more harm than good.

MURDERED: Keisha Bostic. –
Having a joint funeral for Keisha Marina Bostic and her estranged husband, Shamzard “Rockey” Mohammed, who shot and killed her and then turned the gun on himself, was never a consideration for Bostic’s distraught mother.
“My child would be going down alone,” Marva Bostic said, meaning there would be just one burial.
Her funeral is set for 11 am at the St Paul’s Anglican Church on Harris Promenade, San Fernando.
The body is expected to be taken to Paradise Cemetery on Keate Street for burial.
Angry with Mohammed for killing her only daughter, the mere mention of his name upsets Marva.
“I do not want to hear anything about that fraud. His funeral went already,” Marva told Newsday by phone on Friday.
Bostic, 42, was a teacher at the Point Fortin East Secondary. She was also a lawyer. Mohammed, of Barrackpore, ambushed, shot and killed Bostic on November 4 at her mother’s home at Drayton Street, San Fernando.
Mohammed, who worked as a contractor, died in the yard. Bostic was shot many times in the face, and she died at the San Fernando General Hospital shortly after.
The two were married in January. Bostic went to live with him in Barrrackpore. However, a few months ago, they separated and she returned to her mother’s home.
Marva has now lost both her adult children to gun violence.
On July 1, 2015, her son Daniel Kenneth Bostic, 35, was shot and killed in San Fernando’s Juma Masjid at Mucurapo Street. The police said a man walked up from behind and shot him. The father of two fell to the ground, and the gunman shot him several more times before running away. That shooting happened in the month of Ramadan.

Two vehicle occupants escaped unscathed after it burst into flames while traversing the Barre De L’ Isle road on Friday morning.
According to an eyewitness, at about 11:00 am, smoke emanated from the FLOW vehicle, and the fire soon engulfed it.
The eyewitness told St Lucia Times that the two occupants were alerted to the danger when others saw the smoke and quickly exited before the flames consumed the vehicle.
