<< Kiy?s sa a ? Oswald >>.

Food manufacturer, Seprod Limited, received an infusion of $5.65 billion after acquiring the Trinidad and Tobago-based –A.S. Bryden & Sons Holding Limited into its financials.

Seprod’s cash flow recorded the multi-billion dollar jump in investments during the quarter and described the line item as the acquisition of a subsidiary.

The precise cost of the acquisition is unknown at this time.

That’s because the details of the cost side of the acquisition are still pending the closure of the deal.

“Finalisation of the accounting for the acquisition is subject to the completion of valuation reports of intangible assets and other matters,” stated Seprod on the acquisition.

On June 6, 2022, Seprod announced that it intended to acquire A.S. Bryden. The company operates through three principal operating subsidiaries – A.S. Bryden & Sons in Trinidad, A.S. Bryden pi Limited and F.T. Farfan Limited.

Though the deal is yet to be completed, Seprod noted that it still incorporated the performance of A.S. Bryden into the consolidated financials.

“The revenue growth was driven by the contribution of the Bryden Group for the month of June 2022, robust export growth, improved product mix, improved production of fresh milk at the dairy farms, the launch of a new snack line and price increases,” stated Seprod, led by CEO Richard Pandohie.

Net profit totalled $984 million, an increase of $323 million or 49 per cent over the prior period.

Seprod stated that overall, the global market remains volatile but it believes that raw material prices might retreat later in the year due to reaching “peak prices”.

Quinn-Williams hopes that perils of August 8, 2021, will not be repeated and says gov’t appears to have totalitarian leanings

REAL NEWS: A commemoration ceremony is now underway at the bust of Sir V.C. Bird, located at the Public Market, as residents look back on “Tear-Gas Sunday,” or “T-Day,” as August 8, 2021, is being called.

Today, Monday, marks the first anniversary of the day on which the Police tear-gassed and fired rubber bullets at a peaceful gathering that included the elderly and children, as they protested the vaccination policies of the Browne Administration.

The United Progressive Party (UPP) is still condemning the incident, during which a number of people were hurt and brutalized and others arrested and charged.

Pearl Quinn-Williams, the Party’s Candidate for St. John’s Rural North, says this was a dark day in the history of Antigua and Barbuda; and she is hoping that an incident of this nature will not be repeated in the years to come.

Quinn-Williams says the Browne Administration does not respect people’s choices and appears to be leaning towards a totalitarian form of government.

While she understands that the Police have to do their job, the Rural North Candidate says they ought not to get carried away in performing their duties of law enforcement.

Further, Quinn-Williams says, the Police should stop taking orders from the political directorate and adopting such roguish behaviour – making unjustifiable arrests that violate persons’ constitutional rights.

This heavy-handed approach does nothing to engender trust in the Police Force and its members, Quinn-Williams warns, and is actually unhelpful in enforcing the law.

The initial batch of tickets for the Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL) knockouts have been sold. More tickets will be made available in the coming days, with the exception of the final on 30th September which has fully sold out.

As part of Hero CPL’s ticketing and anti-fraud processes, the league will be contacting a select number of customers who have purchased tickets to ask them to verify their purchases.  If these ticket holders are unable to verify their purchases by supplying the required documentation, those transactions will be cancelled and the tickets will be put back on sale.  CPL has also identified some customers who have placed multiple ticket orders, which has exceeded the allowed amount of tickets per customer, and these orders will be cancelled and refunded as per the terms and conditions, with these tickets also being made available to fans at a later date for sale.

The Hero CPL reminds all fans that they should only buy tickets from the Box Office at 233-234 Camp Street, Georgetown or from cplt20.com. Tickets purchased from unauthorized sellers will be voided and will not be accepted at the stadium.

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Radio Isla TV
