Nicki Minaj Cancels UK Meet & Greet Draws Huge Crowd At Wireless Festival

Nicki Minaj was forced to cancel one of her meet and greets in the UK amid police struggling to control large crowds.

Nicki Minaj delivered to fans at her Wireless performance over the weekend despite arriving at the festival performance late and leaving fans irate at her tardiness.

It was mayhem ahead of Nicki Minaj’s performance as fans rushed the venue and can be seen in videos pushing against security personnel to get into the event ahead of the Queen’s appearance.

Nicki Minaj, however, arrived more than 30 minutes late and did not apologize, which set off fans who attended the event hours ahead of her performance time just to see her.

To make matters worse, Minaj was only able to get in a 40-minute set rather than the full 80-minute set she was booked for, and while it was short and sweet, the performance was still affected by technical difficulties and disruptions during her set due to sound issues.

According to fans on Twitter, the artist’s mic and the monitor sounds had delayed feedback which affected Nicki Minaj’s performance, and she even asked fans to excuse her as she took a break in the middle of her set.

“Can you guys give me 30 seconds,” she said to the crowd.

Fans were also patient with her request for time for a wardrobe change, but some were not too pleased as the time ran up to the 9.30 pm curfew hour in London.

In the meantime, Nicki’s star power was on full display as videos were shared online showing massive crowds in the streets waiting on the rapper. According to Metro UK, hundreds of festival attendees rammed the area leading into Wireless in sweltering 30 degrees Celsius heat. Police also struggled to control the crowds as many climbed fences and rushed the venue. There were reports that a fan was crushed as police struggled to manage the large crowds that surrounded the venue.

On Monday, videos also showed hundreds of fans running in the streets around Finsbury Park to get a glimpse of the artist, who was photographed heading to her meet and greet. All was not well, though, as Minaj was seen shoving a fan out of the way as many pressed into and around her from all angles.

In the video, Nicki Minaj can be heard screaming to the fan “back” and “move” as she physically pushed the woman who was taking a selfie video with her.

There is also a video showing the rapper sitting out of a Benz Truck surrounded by thousands of fans who turned up at her meet and greet.

On Twitter, she addressed the chaos seen in the streets of London.

“Guys, if you don’t get in a contained space they won’t let me get out the cars. Pls don’t run in the streets. Please get in 1 place. 1 line,” she wrote on Twitter.

Black Immigrant Daily News

Cardi B dropped some hints that her sophomore album could be released this summer.

The long wait for Cardi B fans may soon be over. For about four years, fans have been eagerly anticipating her sophomore album, but it’s been delayed for various reasons, including technical difficulties.

However, it seems like the long vigil may soon be over, as, in a recent interview with Vogue Singapore, the Bronx rapper revealed her new album is just around the corner.

That’s according to journalist Amelia Chia who wrote in the cover story and is quoted as saying, “she tells me firmly that she’s not waiting very long – ‘a month or two’ – before her next single, and album, gets released.” Cardi is also the cover page of the July/August issue.

It is believed that the single in question is the “Bodak Yellow” rapper’s recently released “Hot Sh*t” collaboration with Kanye West and Lil Durk.

Even though the album has been delayed, she has been putting in the work with singles which are also expected to feature on her next album. They include “WAP” featuring Megan Thee Stallion and “Up.”

At the beginning of this year, she shared with fans some of the challenges she faced in trying to get the album done, including her “ghetto ass studio,” which was built inside her home.

In addition to that, she also complained about other technical difficulties but always vowed that she would not give up the fight to release her next album. Very little is known about the upcoming album except the two singles mentioned above will feature. Something that she had to defend, as well as some fans, criticized her for trying to increase her streaming numbers by including the tracks.

Whatever the circumstances, fans are looking forward to hearing what she has in store since the release of her 2018 debut Invasion Of Privacy.

Popcaan’s female fans are not too happy that he is off the market after going public with relationship with former Miss World Toni-Ann Singh.

The Jamaican artist has signaled that he is no longer free and single following the release of his song “Toni-Ann Singh,” where he professes his love for her and even promises commitment in the form of marriage.

The song appears on Burna Boy‘s new album Love, Damini, where Popcaan appears to be either provoking fans or confirming that he and the Miss Jamaica World beauty queen are a couple.

Popcaan recently shared several photos and videos of him and Singh, which sparked rumors that they are in a relationship. They were seen together in a private jet on the way to Grenada last month, and they were also seen spending quality time earlier this month.

In the meantime, Popcaan does not shy away from publicly expressing his love for Singh, as he describes the desire to one day marry her and make her his Mrs. Sutherland. Popcaan’s real name is Andre Sutherland. This is the first time that the entertainer acknowledges a woman he is dating publicly and openly expresses his love.

“Imma make you my wife one of these days I know what you want my baby, no worry,” the Unruly entertainer sings.

While some female fans found renewed validation for keeping their standards high for a man to treat them like how Popcaan is to Singh, some fans have expressed sadness at having their hopes of being with the singer dashed to pieces.

“Toni ann make every woman left mi to Bomboc***t!!! I’m so lonely,” Popcaan wrote on Twitter on Tuesday in response to women flooding his DMs.

He also shared several screenshots of his DMs on his Instagram account.

Popcaan Replace Lil Durk On Wireless Fest, Rumored Collab Making The Rounds

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Urban Islandz

Popcaan had a smashing performance at Wireless Festival on Sunday, and the OVO deejay is still riding on a high wave as his career climbs new heights.

On Sunday, Popcaan was added to the lineup at the last minute despite Lil Durk being advertised on Wireless’ poster for the event on Sunday, which said Nicki Minaj, Summer Walker, and other artists were performing.

Wireless has not addressed why Popcaan replaced Lil Durk, but some fans online were not happy about the switch up and have pointed out that the festival was aware that Lil Durk was previously denied entry into the UK due to his past criminal record.

While many claimed that Durk “pulled out” of the event, according to Wireless, there are reports that he wasn’t even booked and couldn’t legally pass the border.

Lil Durk has a song named “Denied in UK” that speaks to a previous attempt at entering the UK but not being allowed in by the UK’s Home Office. The country has shown itself to be very serious in not letting in artists who have criminal records. In the past, Lil Wayne has been banned for the same reason.

In the meantime, fans were not disappointed as Popcaan brought the vibes. Many videos were shared by fans praising his performance as “10/10”.

Another said Popcaan “delivered an outstanding performance in the UK.”

Popcaan also shared a post of gratitude for being able to hit the big stage as he addressed critics.

“Some little people always ago ina them feelings because this lil country boy from St. Thomas not supposed to make it like this. But them never see you at the starting line. Gwaan dweet enuh. Me glad fi see you a dweet it me brother. Words from bilberber,” he wrote in an Instagram Story.

Meanwhile, Skillibeng and Shenseea also delivered dancehall hits to fans at Wireless Festival, the first time that two young dancehall entertainers have graced the stage in a long time.

Popcaan also reportedly got a collab with Lil Durk in the works, a snippet of which has been making the rounds.

Ne-Yo Exposed Singer Lucky Daye For Sleeping With Woman In His Bed

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Urban Islandz

Ne-Yo says he passed on signing singer Lucky Daye after he broke one rule.

Lucky Daye missed out on what could have been an amazing opportunity as an artist signed to Ne-Yo. Back in the early 2000s, Lucky Daye was one of the rising talents being watched in the music industry. However, according to the R&B singer/producer, he didn’t sign Daye because he violated his boundaries regarding a specific request.

While speaking on the FAQ Podcast to promote his eighth studio album, ‘Self-Explanatory,’ Ne-Yo was questioned about a lot of events in his music career. One particular story from his career centered on the shape of R&B in the world right now, and that’s when the story about Lucky Daye was shared.

He recalled working with Lucky Daye in the early 2000s and even planned to sign him to Compound Entertainment, owned by him and which is an affiliate of Def Jam Records. The two first worked together on “She Got Her Own,” and Daye even worked with Ne-Yo on several of his hit songs, including “Miss Independent.”

“He was going by David Brown. We were working,” Ne-Yo explained. “The remix to ‘Miss Independent’ with me, and Jamie Foxx, and Fab? Jamie Foxx’s verse — Lucky Daye wrote that verse. He wrote the verse because it was supposed to be him.”

Daye was, however, not featured or worked on the sophomore single, “She Got Her Own,” because of personal issues with Daye, who couldn’t respect his boundaries.

“I was going on a short little run or whatever, and I let Mr Daye stay at my house,” Ne-Yo said.

“Now at this point, I have a big beautiful house, and I’m like, ‘Bruh, you’ve got full reign of the crib. You can go wherever you want to go, do whatever you want to do — just don’t go in my room’,” Ne-Yo added about his conversation with Daye.

“I come back one morning. Open the door up, I don’t see this dude nowhere. I go upstairs to my room. Sure enough, he’s asleep with a chick in my bed,” Ne-Yo says.

“He had no excuse. What could he say?!” Ne-Yo continued. “I gave you one rule. One. Told you one place you couldn’t go. Mind you — big crib. There’s rooms, a backyard, whatever. Just don’t go in this room. Not only are you in my room, you’re in my bed. You in my bed with somebody.”

Ne-Yo added that he felt it was a character flaw of Daye that he couldn’t follow the rules and decided he couldn’t work with him.

“At the time, I was upset. I was mad, so that was kind of the end of that whole situation. Like bruh, if you can’t follow this simple rule, I don’t know if this thing gon’ work.”

In the meantime, Ne-Yo’s new album is set to drop on Friday. The last time he dopped music was in 2019 with his album ‘Another Kind of Christmas.’

Yung Miami Speechless After Kevin Gates Reveals Relationship With Cousin

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Urban Islandz

Kevin Gates is a little too real and open on the next episode of Careesha Please hosted by Yung Miami on the Diddy-owned Revolve TV.

The City Girls rapper popped out with a brand-new podcast last month with none other than her boo Diddy Love on her inaugural episode, and she’s coming back with another provoking interview with Kevin Gates, who lays out his sexual fantasies that have left the hip-hop world shocked.

In a preview shared online, Yung Miami asks the rapper whether it was really true that he was having sex with his cousin unknowingly, to which the rapper explains that after he was told, he wasn’t ready to stop.

In 2015, the rapper had first revealed that he was in a three-month-old relationship when he found out that he was having sex with a blood relative.

“I ain’t about to stop fucking with her,” the rapper had said on Instagram after his followers had criticized him about the revelation.

“Y’all done got the hard part out of the way,” Gates said. “Why f*** up a good thing?” he said to the initial post, which made the announcement, “Newsflash: I’m proud that I’m having sex with my cousin.”

In other interviews, the rapper also confirmed years later that he and the cousin continued to date for about two years. Well, the preview already raises so many questions, which hopefully Gates can reveal in the full show.

As for the interview set to air on July 14, the rapper appears to also be speaking about his freaky sexual proclivities, which he has hinted at in his recent song “Super General,” where he speaks about his freaky desires for Rubi Rose and also for Nicki Minaj and Beyonce.

Even Yung Miami seems blown away by the rapper’s fantasies, “I’m speechless,” she says in the preview to Gates as he’s rattling off his nasty fantasies.

Quavo Reflects On Saweetie Elevator Fight Video, Talks State Of Migos

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Urban Islandz

Fans are finally getting a look into what might have happened to cause the split between Quavo and Saweetie, even though it has been prompted by the 2020 footage of the couple seemingly having a fight in an elevator.

The “Walk It, Talk It” rapper has also admitted that he’s not happy about how things ended up between the two. He made the revelations while being interviewed by GQ. The Migos rapper also opened up about his current love life and the lessons that he learned with Saweetie.

He took the opportunity to let fans and critics know that he never wants to harm women in any way, including physically. Even if that is the case, the video is pretty damning as the two seem to have a heated argument in which the “My Type” rapper is seen throwing an object at Quavo’s head.

The object misses, and then he drags her into the elevator, after which they struggle over a suitcase, and she falls to the ground.

“I don’t like what people think. When they saw the elevator thing they thought it was abusive, something crazy,” he added later on.

It seems that the lesson has been learned as he also admitted that he has not jumped into another relationship just yet as he is seeking to work on himself. He added that his main focus right now was to establish himself as a human being before he got involved in any more relationships.

The two officially began dating in September 2018 and were often in the limelight as fans constantly reposted clips of them together and some of the special moments that they shared, but Saweetie confirmed that they had broken up in March 2021.

In the same interview with GQ, Quavo opened up about the status of Migos amid recent rumors of the group splitting up with himself and Takeoff forming a duo, and Offset left hanging. There are also rumored tension between Quavo, Takeoff and Offset’s wife, Cardi B.

Quavo is saying that doing music separately will only help the group as a collective in the long run.

“It was all about Migos, Migos, Migos. The three of us,” the Atlanta rapper said about Migos dominance as a group in the 2010s. “I feel like every group member has to establish themselves. Their own body of work. If not, you start losing members.”

Usain Bolt was officially honored by Brunel University London for his outstanding contributions to track and field.

Brunel University announced the conferral two days ago and shared photos of Usain Bolt in his robe and cap accepting the award. In a statement, the university said that Botl held a special place at the institution as he prepared for the 2012 Olympics, one of if not the most transformative years of his career, where he earned the title ‘Fastest man Alive’ due to his 9.58 seconds record time.

“Mr Bolt trained at Brunel a number of times over his career, including in the lead-up to the 2012 London Olympics, where his world beating performances scooped him three gold medals and cemented his place as the greatest sprinter of all time,” the university said on its website.

The statement said that in accepting his award, Bolt addressed graduates at Brunel’s Indoor Athletics Centre in Uxbridge as he impressed the value of hard work and dedication.

“I want to say to the graduates, hard work does pay off, just remember that the road won’t be easy, there will be ups and downs, and you will fail,” Bolt began.

“But always remember, learn from your failure and try again. Never give up on your dream, because as a young man I never knew I’d be this great. Always work hard, dedicate yourself, and remember, anything is possible, don’t take limits,” Bolt added.

Bolt has left the competitive track and field sport, but he has left an indelible mark on the work as he remains the holder of the 100m and 200m world records and a share of the 4x100m record, all of which he earned while preparing at Brunel in 2012,” the university said.

Bolt also expressed his gratitude to the institution.

“I want to thank Brunel University for this honorary degree, I really appreciate it. I have only fond memories of training at Brunel, you guys have really helped me to conquer the world, and I must say I really appreciate that. “

In the meantime, Bolt is now a Doctor of the University or DUniv. The award was conferred by Professor Costas Karageorghis, Professor of Sport and Exercise Psychology at Brunel.

“It’s been a delight to welcome Usain back to Brunel to recognise his great achievements, not only on the track, but in promoting sport and a positive attitude towards life,” Karageorghis said.

“As a university, we’re immensely proud to have played even a small part in his journey to greatness, and I’m sure Usain knows he’s welcome back any time!” he added.

Usain Bolt previously received an honorary doctorate from the University Of The West Indies, UWI.
