World Cup 2022: Neymar says Qatar could be his last Loop Jamaica

Neymar is unsure whether he will get the opportunity to represent Brazil at another World Cup after this year’s tournament in Qatar.

The Paris Saint-Germain forward will appear at his third World Cup later this month, where he will be looking to lead Brazil to their first triumph at the tournament for 20 years.

Neymar will be 34 years old by the time the 2026 World Cup begins, and with little certainty whether he will feature in that tournament, he hopes to cement a place in football history by leading Brazil to glory in Qatar.

“I’ll play like it’s the last,” Neymar told Globo. “I talk to my father, we always talk. [I’ll] play each game as if it were the last because you don’t know what will happen tomorrow.

“I can’t guarantee that I’ll play another [World] Cup. I honestly don’t know. I’ll play like it’s the last.

“Maybe I’ll play another one, maybe not. It depends. There’s going to be a coaching change [when Tite steps down after the World Cup] and I don’t know if that coach will like me.

“I’ve already built a long history in the national team and, for sure, I want to finish it well.

“I’m happy. I like to play football and I like to win. I like to be better than I am every day. I like helping my team-mates, which is the main thing. I hope my name is engraved in football history.”

Asked about Brazil’s chances of glory in Qatar, Neymar added: “I want to play this cup, dedicate myself to it, because I’m sure we have the potential to go very far.

“Although a lot of people don’t believe in us, we will prove otherwise. I see that this national team has a lot of good things, and I see that we can go very far.”

Since making his World Cup debut on home soil in 2014, Neymar has been directly involved in 42 per cent of Brazil’s 19 goals in the tournament (six goals, two assists).

Meanwhile, the 30-year-old has scored 75 times in 121 appearances for Brazil, putting him just two goals short of Pele’s Selecao record of 77.

While Neymar will be expected to trouble that record when Brazil face Serbia, Switzerland and Cameroon in their Group G campaign in Qatar, he says he is not driven by the desire to better Pele’s feats.

“It’s more than I imagined, than I dreamed. I never thought about numbers, I never wanted to overtake anyone, to break a record. I always just wanted to play football,” Neymar said.

“Pele is the reference. Pele is football. Pele is practically everything for our country. The respect and admiration I have for him is enormous.”

Head of the Port of Spain Division Snr Supt Roger Alexander says strategies designed to offer maximum coverage and deter criminals were being finalised for the upcoming Christmas and Carnival seasons for the capital city.

Speaking during a media briefing at the Police Training Academy, St James, on Friday, Alexander was asked about the readiness of the divisional police in managing both events.

Carnival 2023 will be the first Carnival celebrations on the streets since the covid19 pandemic in 2020.

Alexander said while he could not share much details on the crime plans, he understood that increased police presence brought more comfort to the public. He said more mobile and foot patrols would be incorporated in their plans.

He also noted that the police would be collaborating with private security guards at businesses to ensure efficient responses.

“We want to get everybody on board, every security officer, every security network.

“We’re getting these people to communicate with law enforcement and it benefits them to because when something happens they may not be able to handle it on their own so they call law enforcement and we took a page out of his book with that night watchman crime initiative. “

He was referring to the recent murder of 39-year-old Anton Smart on Henry Street in October where the killer was arrested shortly after the shooting.

He said police would be deployed to certain areas to in an effort to arrest criminals quickly.

“We know coming down to the Christmas season everyone wants to break open a store, everybody wants to steal something, so what we did again is we positioned police officers strategically in zones because when someone does something in Port of Spain, nobody runs west, everybody runs to the east, so we will block off the escape routes.”

Acting Police Commissioner McDonald Jacob said the Christmas crime plan would continue into the Carnival season next year as the police anticipated a large turnout of revellers and was prepared to ensure everyone’s safety.

Summer Walker’s Baby Daddy Larry responds To He Split Announcement

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Urban Islandz

Summer Walker’s baby daddy has responded to her announcing their split.

Summer Walker has confirmed that she and her unborn baby’s father, Larry, aka LVRD Pharoh, have split. The R&B singer on Nov. 6 shared images from her baby shower, but fans were curious after Larry was not seen in any of the photos. Summer recently shared photos featuring her daughter, whom she calls by the nickname ‘Bubbles’ as well as photos of family and friends who are also pregnant but none with Larry. On Sunday, the singer explained to fans who questioned her relationship status that she was no longer with Larry, although they have a good co-parenting relationship.

According to her, she stepped away to protect her peace and happiness.

“People been trying to be in my business bad lately, idky why y’all need updates on my life lol like go touch grass but I’ve decided to be single, it’s no hard feelings, Larry is an amazing father there’s just certain things I won’t tolerate,” she wrote in a lengthy post on Instagram Story.

Summer Walker shares Bubbles, who was born in March 2021, with producer London On Da Track. Her relationship with the hitmaker has been more than acrimonious, as she has accused him several times of being an awful father and deserting her during her pregnancy.

Summer and Larry were also longtime friends, and they began dating after she broke up with London. Earlier this year, the “4th Baby Mama” artist praised Larry for stepping up as a father for her daughter Bubbles and even referred to him as ‘Papa’ on a cake.

In her post on Sunday, Walker wrote that Larry has continued to be a good father to her daughter by being present for every photo shoots, doctor appointments, and baby-related events.

She added, “no I ain’t removing my face Tatt I still have hella love for him,” she said about the forehead tattoo she did months ago.

Walker also addressed critics, saying that she has seen women maintain a façade of a happy relationship to save face in society when they weren’t happy. While she didn’t name any names, she pointed out celebrity women in long term relationships and marriages who aren’t happy but fake it for the media.

“Every month they complaining bout how they getting cheated on, beat on, children being had on them, they lonely etc,” Summer Walker wrote. “But they rather stay for the IMAGE just to say they have a man or a ring or just to keep receiving apology birkins & cars.”

Walker makes it clear that the only difference between those women and herself is that she prefer her peace and happiness and as such she would prefer to walk away from the relationship.

Meanwhile, Larry also confirmed on Nov. 11 that he and Walker were no longer together and warned that while she is pregnant with his child, he will not allow another male to “slide.”

“We not together but y’all n***as better wait until after the pregnancy before y’all start sliding. I’ll still off one of y’all about her on my soul,” he wrote on Instagram Story.
