Lil Tjay Shares 50 Cent Motivational Speech To Him After Getting Shot 7 Times

Black Immigrant Daily News

Lil Tjay has shared the advice he received from veteran rapper and television mogul 50 Cent after he recovered from being shot.

Lil Tjay was shot and injured in New Jersey after a man tried to rob him and his friends while they sat in his car at a mall parking lot. The rapper received seven (7) shots about the body and was hospitalized in critical condition as he battled for his life. Luckily, the rapper recovered unscathed without any major damage to his body.

In a new interview with Rolling Stone, the Bronx rapper shared that shortly after the shooting, he received some solid advice from 50 Cent.

“Every artist needs pain or something to feed off of. This right here, you shake this shit off,” Tjay said the rapper told him while he was still hospitalized but recovering.

“You got the length for greatness. You going to be bigger than ever,” 50 Cent added.

This advice coming from 50 Cent might be more meaningful than if it came from someone else because 50 Cent has been in a similar position in the past. The rapper narrowly escaped death in the year 2000 after being shot nine times. The injuries did not stop the Fifty, who went on to release his debut album three years later. That album, Get Rich or Die Tryin, is one for the history books as it catapulted Fifty’s career and helped to cement him as a force to be reckoned with.

In his interview, Lil Tjay said 50 Cent revealed that he also received a phone call- from Diddy, who gave him the same advice and support he was now giving to Tjay. He noted that Diddy called him to show support, too.

Lil Tjay also recalled the moment he was shot, noting that everyone around him feared the worse.

“I don’t even know [if] I knew it was seven times,” he said. “When them shits get to hittin’ you, it’s different. When it’s again and again, it’s like, yo! I ain’t going to lie, everybody, that was there and seen me—undeniably it looked like it was over.”

The rapper also recollected the moments he regained consciousness five days after being in a coma, but it felt like mere hours when he awoke.

“The hospital lady came over to me like, ‘Hey, you didn’t look so good the other day, bud… I’m thinking, ‘The other day? What you mean, the other day?’” the rapper recalled his conversation with the nurse.

The rapper also spoke about his fears that he might have lost his voice as a bullet was stuck in his neck and had to be removed after he regained consciousness.

“I could feel the bullet, too,” he said. “She’s touching my neck, and I could feel a bullet, and I’m like, ‘Yo, this is crazy.’ All I’m thinking is, ‘What? I got a story to tell’” Tjay said about the brave moment.

The rapper recently marked his return to music with a collaboration with Ice Spice, “Gangsta Boo,” which samples Diddy’s song. Tjay has also teased that he is working on new music to be released this year.

Future Upset With Drake For Dropping Joint Album With 21 Savage, Says N.O.R.E.

Black Immigrant Daily News

Drink Champs host N.O.R.E says that Drake’s recent collaboration with 21 Savage on Her Loss might not be going over well with Future, who has worked closely with Drake in the past.

While on the Breakfast Club morning show, N.O.R.E shared that he heard a rumor from the “Skreets” that hinted at Future being upset about the collaboration.

“That’s what I heard. I heard that’s a big rumour that Future is not too happy that at this Drake and 21 Savage album and it makes Drake and Future album not as important I would say,” N.O.R.E. whose real name is Victor James Santiago, Jr., said.

“This is allegedly. I’ve never heard from Future’s mouth, never heard it from Drake, never heard it from 21,” N.O.R.E said, adding that he heard the rumor on the “skreets” of Miami.

When asked about artists being upset about their collaborators working together, N.O.R.E compared other big artists like Jay-Z working with the likes of Kanye West versus someone he never worked with.

21 Savage posing beside his 2021 Ferrari F90 in 2021.

“I would think so. You know what I mean? We never seen Jay-Z do another ‘Best Of Both Worlds.’ We seen ‘Watch The Throne,’ but that was [equal].”

“The Breakfast Club” co-host DJ Envy, however, interjected to say that working together was great for music.

“But I will say this, I like the fact that these younger artists and newer artists are doing records with other people and doing albums with other people, cause back then you guys would never cause y’all would have too many label conflicts,” he said.

N.O.R.E also added that Drake understood his influence in the culture and was helping others.

N.O.R.E also spoke about the impact of Drake working with 21 Savage as the collaboration benefits 21 Savage more than it does Drake.

“More so, when you do a whole album with 21 Savage and with all due respect to 21 Savage, it’s like you’re putting 21 Savage on that level now. Like even though he probably was on that level but now you putting him on that level. You putting him on the level of Future. You know what I’m saying? Future is arguably one of the most influential artists ever,” N.O.R.E said.

None of the three artists has reacted to the rumors, but ‘Her Loss’ has spoken for itself as one of the biggest-selling albums of 2022 (at No. 3) and notably since the 2010 decade.

Late last year, Chart Data revealed that the album was in 10th place for the biggest U.S album debuts of the 2020s decade, with 404,000 units sold on release.

Drake and Future are said to be BFFs and previously collaborated on ‘What a Time To Be Alive’ (2015). There were rumors a few years back that the artists could be dropping a part 2 to the album, but neither has confirmed or denied the rumors.

Lil Uzi Vert Sparks ‘Emo’ Memes After New Hairstyle, Drops XXXTentacion Collab

Black Immigrant Daily News

Lil Uzi Vert debut a new hairstyle and face piercing after dropping his new collab with XXXTentacion.

The “XO Tour Llif3” rapper is known to be edgy with his fashion choices and regularly switches up his look. Still, his latest move in his ever-evolving style is causing quite a stir on social media with a flood of ‘EMO’ memes. “This what lil Uzi vert new look is reminding me of rn,” one fan tweeted.

“That lil uzi vert emo “new look” tweet took me back to high school with my sister jamming to alt rock music. I had to listen to it for nostalgia’s sake,” another fan tweeted after seeing Uzi’s new look.

In the meantime, Lil Uzi Vert has collaborated with late rapper XXXTentacion on a new single titled “I’m Not Human,” more than four years since the rapper was killed.

It’s the first time the rappers are collaborating over the course of their careers, which ran parallel to each other as they are both from Florida but still far apart in their respective careers.

The song was released on Monday (Jan. 23) in honor of what would have been his 25th birthday. The feel of the song is more somber, with XXX and Uzi’s ballad-style verses complimenting each other as it brings out several themes and emotions, including love, longing, rage, and frustration.

“Bury all your secrets in my skin/ Come away with innocence/ And leave me with my sins/ Air around me feels just like a cage/ Love is just a camouflage for what resembles rage,” XXX sings.

Uzi matches the tone of XXX’s versing singing, “Lay you down when you go to sleep/ And wipe your eyes every time you weep, oh/ Tell you that life is not that deep/Paintin’ pictures that I’m a freak, but I’m not a human.”

The song was announced by XXXTentacion’s Instagram page, that’s operated by his estate. The caption read “A gift from Jah,” references the rapper’s real name. “Thank you #liluzi,” it added.

This is the first collaboration between XXXtentacion and Uzi Vert. The latter recently shared that he had wanted to work with the rapper before he was shot and killed during a robbery in 2018. According to Lil Uzi Vert in a Livestream, he and the Florida rapper were familiar with each other, and he was inspired by his talent.

“He called me one time when he was incarcerated a long time ago,” Uzi said on a Livestream with streamer Adin Ross. “I was going on stage, I was on tour with The Weeknd and he actually rapped a song for me that he never laid and it was actually really good.”

Uzi had also spoken about possibly collaborating posthumously with XXXTentacion. On Monday night, the song was released on YouTube and Soundcloud but not Spotify. Many fans on Twitter called for the track to be cleared and put on the digital streaming platform.

Baton Rouge rapper YoungBoy Never Broke Again has announced his foray into the sports arena with the launch of his Never Broke Again (NBA) Sports brand.

On Tuesday, the rapper revealed the artwork and design for the brand, which featured the words ‘Never Broke Again’ with NBA in caps and ‘Sports’ and ‘National’ written below. The letters are in red with what appears to be a silver basketball on the N, a soccer ball on the B, and a football on the A.

The announcement was made on YoungBoy’s Never Broke Again LLC, which hinted that the rapper was now entering into sports management. “Get prepared for this. #NewYear #NewSeason #NeverBrokeAgainSports #SportsManagement. We take your dreams to the next level,” the caption read as it tagged the page.

A description of the page read, “we bring you the Best #Agency in the game.”

The company also shared some of the athletes they were representing, including basketball player Mikey Williams, the University of Houston running back Tazhawn Henry, and wide receiver for the Houston Cougars Nathaniel ‘Tank’ Dell.

NBA YoungBoy’s label has been making several business moves over the last few months. Last month, the rapper announced a new deal with Amazon AMP for his own radio show.

The controversial rapper appears to be making a turnaround with his career and personal life and has been preaching his mantra “stop the violence” after an intense beef earlier in the year with Lil Durk and members of his OTF family between 2021 and 2022.

Earlier this month, it was confirmed that the rapper and his long-time girlfriend and mother of his two children, Jazlyn Mychelle, had gotten married after a short engagement.

NBA YoungBoy also made some significant moves last year with his Never Broke Again LLC signing a major multimillion-dollar label deal with Motown Records. That deal has so far seen the rapper’s fifth studio album, the January 2023 release, I Rest My Case, being released under the deal.

Anthony B Celebrating Black History Month With First ‘Black & Proud’ Concert In NY

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Urban Islandz

International dancehall/reggae artist Anthony B and Reggae Vibes Music are set to host the inaugural Black and Proud Concert in New York City. The event is a live reggae music experience that honors the richness of black culture and history.

Speaking with Urban Islandz on Tuesday, the “Life Good” artist shared that he had been working on the event concept for a while, and he is pleased that the date is finalized for Saturday, February 25, at Club Amazura in Queens, New York.

The concept for the concert comes from his reggae track “Black and Proud,” and the artist explained that it is a message he wants to continue to share because it is needed in this generation, especially in the month of February, which is celebrated as Black History month in the United States and as Reggae Month in Jamaica.

“[I am] trying to make awareness for this topic because of human beings who are judged for the color of their skin over their character. So we have to understand this topic because we are all flowers in this beautiful garden of life,” Anthony B shared.

Sharing his plans to host the same event in Jamaica and later one in Africa, Anthony B shared that the experiences of black people in the motherland, Jamaica, or the diaspora are almost similar and empowering each other with self-love and pride is important.

“Our children and all the children of all our fellow nations must learn about this topic [black and proud]. When we hide the truth from the children, we can’t turn around and blame them for not knowing our past mistakes, and the effects of being judged or judging the next person for the colour of their skin. We are all humans living [our] experiences and learning as life goes on,” the artist shared.

The reggae artist shared that the event will be mainly reggae music and will feature performances from some of the finest reggae artists in the business- Turbulence, Pressure, Kabaka Pyramid, and Perfect Giddimani, among others. A finalized rundown will be shared with attendees at a later date.

Also set to entertain the crowd are HOT 97’s Massive B- Bobby Konders and Jabba, alongside Mountain Lion Sound.

In the meantime, Anthony B also updated Urban Islandz on his music journey, sharing that he plans to release a new reggae album this year. The project, Bread & Butter, will be released through Ineffable Music Group, but he declined to share a release date just yet.

Pressed for spoilers, the artist, however, shared that it will be a solid reggae music album that will include a few surprise guests. So far, he revealed that there is a track with Busy Signal and another with Chronic Law in the project.

Black Immigrant Daily News

Beenie Man gave fans a riveting performance at Night Two of the reggae music festival Rebel Salute as he ditched the crutches and appeared to be on the mend.

The artist had been ailing with his feet since a motorcycle accident last year. Despite the injury, the artist continued to perform with a pair of crutches and was even seen in Barbados, where he performed to the likes of Rihanna in the audience last year.

On Saturday, Beenie Man gave a lively performance for just over one hour as he walked out onto the Rebel Salute stage just before daylight on Sunday morning at Grizzly’s Plantation Cove in St Ann. The artist walked spritely onto the stage and even opened with a freestyle about his foot.

“Mi refuse fi fail and mi fall, mi foot sprain/ me craw like snail….cause I’m back on my feet, and not looking back,” he sang.

The artist wore a white suit with custom-designed sequins and matching shoes.

Beenie Man had previously shared in December that he was forced to cancel performances for the month since his constant movements were delaying the healing of the foot. The artist shared with fans that his doctor had warned that if his foot doesn’t heal, he might face the difficult reality of amputation.

Despite not using crutches, the artist told fans he had been resting his feet for eight weeks, but he is still healing.

“You see tonight, I’m not 100% ’cause you know one part ah mi foot pop off but everybody weh love 90s dancehall go so,” he said, telling the fans to wave.

The artist went on to deliver several of his hit songs like “Slam,” his 1995 hit “Old Dog,” “Tear Off Mi Garment,” the 1996 hit “Black Board,” and others. Beenie Man showed off some of his moves, including his signature “whine,” but within 10 minutes of his performance, the artist asked, “weh mi chair deh? Doctor say mi not fi stand up too long.”

The artist used the chair throughout his performance but only sat for a few minutes at a time throughout his performance. At one point, he called out his oldest daughter and celebrity dancer, Desha Ravers, to dance on the stage for him.

Beenie Man is known for adding his voice to current affairs and topical issues. Last year, he admonished promoters in Uganda for overpricing a show to exclude poorer persons. On Saturday night, at the end of his performance, he addressed the current fraud allegations against Stocks and Securities Limited (SSL), including the missing U$12 million Usain Bolt invested in the firm that’s now missing.

“Ah ediot ting dem keep up pon Usain Bolt. Dem fi gi back the man him money,” Beenie Man said as he urged the Rebel Salute to raise their hands in agreement.

Bounty Killer made a similar comment on the stage on Friday night as he also lambasted the firm.

Nia Long Iced Omarion Dating Rumors After ‘You People’ Red Carpet Clip

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Urban Islandz

Nia Long says she is very single at the moment despite rumors she is dating Omarion.

The actress and the R&B singer went viral this week after posing for a photo on the red carpet of the premiere of her new Netflix movie You People. Not only did they pose for a candid photo, but Nia Long also held Omarion’s hand, leaving him laughing like a child in a candy store. The former B2K singer later shared the seven seconds clip on his Twitter account, sending his fans into a frenzy.

After a few days, the story still dominated the headlines, which perhaps prompted Nia Long to comment on it. In a comment on TSR, she told folks to chill because she remains very much single.

“Everybody simmer down… I’m single AF, she commented.

Her comment was enough to illicit a reaction from Bow Wow, who wrote, “Lets go @omarion Lock that door champ.”

DJ Aone also left a comment saying, “Oh we know you single! That hand pull said you was ready to mingle!”

Considering Omarion is 14 years younger than Long, some fans thought it would have been a win on his part if he had bagged the iconic Best Man actress. Nia Long is fresh out of a 13-year relationship with Ime Udonka, who cheated on her and was fired from his coaching gig at the Boston Celtics NBA team. The former couple has an 11-year-old son name Kez, while Nia also has a 22-year-old name Massai from a previous relationship.

Omarion, whose current relationship status is unknown, dated the mother of his children, Apryl Jones, for several years before parting ways. Jones is currently dating Nia Long’s Best Man co-star Taye Diggs.

Nia is certainly single, but she hasn’t said if she is ready to mingle.

Blueface Denies He’s The Father Of Chrisean Rock’s Baby After Pregnancy Announcement

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Urban Islandz

Chrisean Rock says she’s pregnant as she shared several positive pregnancy tests and excitedly told her thousands of fans that she is keeping the baby after having three abortions for Blueface in the past.

Last month there were speculations that Rock might be pregnant as she was seen refusing alcohol and conducting herself in a better manner. However, the past month has become more toxic drama between the ‘Crazy in Love’ cast members, and it appears that they’ve broken up.

On Friday night, the two appeared to have a continuation of an argument despite Rock apologizing for having a mental health episode the day before.

Blueface and Chrisean Rock began arguing after he called out her fans for supporting her irrational behavior, which included kicking a TV during a No Jumper interview.

“Alcohol isn’t her problem her mentality is her problem all you people on here making excuses for a lack of self control an irrational behavior is contributing to the problem #accountability,” Blueface wrote.

The rapper added that fans’ claims that he provokes Chrisean are false as she has deep issues without him.

“When she displays this type of irrational behavior on baddies or blue girls club you guys applaud an cheer but when it’s a different setting an it doesn’t look as good you guys want it to be everybody else fault this is how she carry herself with or without me,” he said.

Chrisean Rock/Instagram

Blueface celebrated his birthday on January 20, and shortly after telling fans that he would be taking the day off to celebrate, Rock sent a curious tweet.

“Happy Birthday Baby Daddy,” she said.

Blueface later replied that their relationship was over and denied that she was carrying his child.

“To answer y’all questions yes me an rock are officially done it’s strictly business I tried it an clearly it wasn’t giving before she announces… she’s pregnant with somebody else’s child not mine.”

Blueface added a series of tweets denying he was the father.

Chrisean Rock has had encounters with ten different men in the last year until I see DNA test, then it’s not mine,” he said in one tweet.

“I know I know y’all thought she was all about me…me too lol but the facts are facts being my BM would be a blessing… She must be currently drinking while pregnant that’s a red flag,” he added.

The rapper also appears to beg God to let it not be his child.

On the other hand, Rock denied that she had cheated on Blueface and said she would gladly supply him with a DNA test and that she wanted to keep the child because she had aborted many pregnancies before.

“So what happens wen you eat all ya evil words … I haven’t sexually been active with no one but u n plus there’s can a DNA test… n ion need yo money I got my own I don’t need a baby Daddy I’m just having this child because I don’t want to keep aborting.”

“Blue tred lightly God don’t like ugly fr. Boy, I don’t need you lol I want u that’s the difference…Promise you. I don’t need a cent from u . Then wen we do a DNA test and it’s yours just know I’ll tell my children you died so u wouldn’t have a exuse to be in the child’s life. This my baby n dats dat,” she replied to him.

Rock later posted three positive pregnancy tests where she added a caption, “guess how many heartbeats.”

Rock also went back on Instagram, where she shared a video at the hospital where she did a pregnancy test.

“I really put the news out because I want all the bad stuff to do it course. I’m saying I’m pregnant because I am keeping it,” Rock said.

“You know you’re the dad. I know for sure you’re the dad. I haven’t been sexually active with anybody else but you…who am I to announce the pregnancy and not know the dad?” she added.

In the meantime, her fans corrected her that three pregnancy tests didn’t mean that she was having triplets because a sonogram alone could determine that. In the hospital, Rock said she wanted twins or triplets because of the babies she had aborted before (three).

In the hospital, she said she was hoping it was three heartbeats.

“We’re gonna be a family, and we gon have the big baby shower. So yeah, pray for me,” Rock said.

“When you pregnant, do you hear heartbeat or any beats you have to hear one? Cause I hope I hear three that’s how many I killed,” she told the nurse who was about to do her pregnancy test.

Vybz Kartel Showcase Vocals In New Song “Hope Is A Liar”

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Urban Islandz

Vybz Kartel drops off his new single “Hope Is A Liar.”

The single was first previewed in 2019 on the incarcerated deejay’s Adidjahiem Records label, and now fans finally have the finished product. Even though he has been behind bars for well over a decade, Vybz Kartel somehow managed to release a steady stream of new music. Although some fans believe his one dominant presence in dancehall has since simmered, the fact that he is still a hot topic of discussion in the genre is a testament to his work ethic and star power.

On his new dancehall love ballad, Kartel sings, “I hope you be fine girl/ Hope is a liar/ What yuh desire, don’t even try girl/ Gimme back me life you are a destroyer/ Look how me did love yo.”

The single comes on the heels of Vybz Kartel’s latest album, True Religion, a project which he dedicated to his fiancee Sidem Ozturk, who was recently spotted at his house his Portmore shooting a music video while being surrounded by heavily armed guards.

Kartel also recently released some new photos of himself showing off his drip behind bars. In one photo, he wore a multicolored polo shirt with ripped jeans and a fresh pair of desert Clarks. In another shot, he switched things up, wearing Jordan kicks and with light-washed ripped jeans, and a Jordan white T.

Polo G Iced Reports He Unfollowed Gunna Over Snitching Claims

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Urban Islandz

Polo G addressed misleading reports on Friday, claiming that he is the latest rapper to unfollow Gunna in what appears to be a polarizing blowback in the hip-hop community because of his recent guilty plea deal in the YSL RICO case.

On Friday, reports surfaced that the “Rapstar” rapper had removed Gunna from his friends and followers list in a bid to distance himself from him due to the perception that he had violated the “street code” to never tell. However, Polo G was quick to set the record straight as he denied ever following Gunna in the first place.

“I wasn’t never followin’ him to unfollow up,” Polo G wrote on Instagram Story. “Y’all be on my d*ck.”

The rapper also wanted others to leave him out of such things noting that he doesn’t keep much company and wanted to be left alone.

“I don’t follow up behind nobody, I make my own decisions as a man and I do a good job at mindin my business,” he wrote. “U don’t see me in shit for a reason.”

In another post, he added, “I don’t fuck with n***as good or bad simple and plain.”

Gunna

Earlier this month, Gunna spoke for the first time, claiming that despite taking an Alford Plea, he has not switched sides. “N***as acting like they switching to a side,” he wrote. “But it’s only one side. #YsltheLabel #FreeThug&Yak GUNNA BACC!!!!!”

Gunna received major backlash from fans and followers who referenced the tape from his court hearing where he was asked about knowledge that YSL was a gang and to which he answered affirmatively.

Since then, many have Gunna and the seven other defendants who took plea deals “snitches” for cooperating with authorities to get out of jail while others, like his close friend Young Thug, remained in jail along with 13 others.

Among those who have unfollowed Gunna are rappers, Lil Baby and Meek Mill, while his former collaborator Lil Durk also dissed him in a new song this week. Even Wack 100 has teased that his artist is going to release a song “inspired” by the plea deal.
