Shenseea says she has been working hard to improve her craft and shared an acapella video of her singing what sounds like an R&B track.

On Wednesday night, the Jamaican singer popped up with a mystery man playing the piano whom many felt was producer London on Da Track while she sang. Shenseea showed off the results of her ongoing voice and speech training as she took on some high notes to announce the new song.

“Been taking my time perfecting this music the old school way. Take it to the head is one a dem!” she said.

Shenseea also seemed to hint that London On Da Track was the producer for the track writing “Creating w/ one a da best.” In the comments, Shenseea received support from fans, friends, and some of her team members, like local manager Romeich Major who praised her talent. “From dj to signing and still can rap!!!!! F**king best,” he wrote.

Fans also zoomed in on the fact that the masked figure was London On Da Track, who is rumored to be romantically involved with the Jamaican artist.

Shenseea

“London on da track why u hiding tho? My girl Shen!!!” one fan wrote. “We got London on the track!!! We missing that part tho,” another said.

Shenseea has been out of the public’s eye despite working as the artist recently shared that she was in her home country Jamaica where she enjoyed the local hospitality and even enjoyed a few recreational activities.

In recent posts on her Instagram account, she shared that she recently enjoyed a day out at the river. In photos, she shared her ackee and saltfish meal and photos of her body in a tiny bikini. In another post, she also shared that she loved pineapples.

DaBaby Says He Lost $100 Million From Being Canceled, Shade Megan Thee Stallion

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Urban Islandz

DaBaby says that since his Rolling Loud controversy in July, he lost more than 100 million dollars.

The rapper’s career has been on a downward spiral since July 2021 after he made disparaging and insensitive comments about the LGBTQ community and people living with HIV/AIDS. Since then, he was dropped by several festivals, and not only has his bookings dried up, but there has been a lull in his career with him being unable to pull much of a crowd while he has also seen some of the lowest sales of his career. The rapper has insisted that he is being blackballed by streaming platforms.

The Rolling Loud appearance resulted in several major controversies, which DaBaby proudly insists are “three viral moments.” In particular, the rapper brought out collaborator Tory Lanez right after Megan Thee Stallion’s set, which was problematic in itself as Lanez was on bond and had strict conditions to abide by, which included keeping his distance from Megan as his felony assault case goes on.

The appearance led to Lanez’s bond being revoked for violating the terms of his release, and he was arrested and placed in jail before he was granted a second bond at a much higher amount.

Since then, DaBaby’s career has taken a nosedive, but the rapper insists that he can’t be canceled. While speaking with Ebro Darden on Tuesday, he explained that he had lost a lot of money over the last year.

“F**k no, I’m not into the conspiracy theory this and that until you see it cost a n***ga a 100 million dollars within a year’s span, then you see this real, this ain’t no conspiracy s**t, this s**t real,” DaBaby said.

Tory Lanez and Dababy

DaBaby, who recently released a song claiming that he slept with Megan Thee Stallion, was called out for bringing Tory Lanez out on stage, especially since he and Megan previously collaborated on music, but their relationship appeared to have soured. The rapper, however, said he didn’t care about fans thinking that he was antagonizing the Houston rapper by bringing Lanez on stage.

“Nah, I could care less, if I wanted, the song I just put out, the second a n****ga played he tough on the internet, I could have busted a n****a bubble…stand on your business without involving me, don’t make me say why you feel some type of way about this song coming out..me and bruh been did this song before whatever alleged altercation they had,” DaBaby said.

The “Sneaky Link Anthem” rapper says that he didn’t care about Megan’s situation as it had nothing to do with him.

“This n***ga paid me for the verse, paid me for the video, crazy, what am I gonna do? Because of an alleged situation he got going on that don’t got nothing to do with me, I’m not supposed to not give this man what he paid for? Not post this sh*t, it’s not that deep,” DaBaby insisted.

DaBaby also appeared to shade Megan Thee Stallion over their collaboration “Nasty” featuring Ashanti, where he hinted that the “WAP” rapper used him to get on Billboard charts.

“They already got what they needed me for, they came to me to get on Billboard, to get a position on Billboard, they already got that..you paid for that, you got that, that is what it is, no hard feelings.”

Despite his career appearing to slow down, the rapper also insisted in a part of the interview that he is still an “international rockstar.”

“I’m real n***ga rock star. Like I said out my mouth. These people looking at me, when I say these people I mean everybody, like the world, they look at me household name like superstar, like international superstar, I still am an international superstar.”

DaBaby also addressed the recent track “Boogeyman,” where he claimed he slept with Megan but did not say whether his claims were true or not.

“It is what it is. I said a long time ago, keep me out the business. It’s a song. It’s out right now. N***gas can take it how they want to take it.” He said adding that backlash won’t make him change the lyrics.

Elsewhere in the interview, the rapper also appeared to blame the mother of his child, fellow rapper DaniLeigh for not talking to her brother, who later fought with DaBaby and his security detail. The beatdown was caught on tape, but the rapper has not taken any responsibility for his role in the fight, which left Dani’s brother Brandon badly beaten.

Shaggy Invites Jamaican Artists To Learn From His Mistakes: “Anybody Can Come”

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Urban Islandz

Shaggy is constantly dropping gems and sharing his knowledge with younger artists. In a sit down with Anthony Miller on ER, the artist shares that it took him years to learn the business of dancehall before he was able to see his career bloom financially.

According to Shaggy, after networking with artists like Sting and traveling with others, he came to understand and see music and the kind of money it could make. The dancehall legend wants to see younger Jamaican artists tap into their full potential.

But while he is always willing to share information, the ‘Boombastic’ singer says that not all of the artists he crosses paths with are willing to be mentored.

“Put it this way, there is an old saying in Jamaica, carry the donkey to the water and you can’t make him drink. I’m not saying probably the first 10 won’t, but maybe you find one that does, maybe that one won’t be the most talented either but just the hardest worker and that always wins,” he says.

The artist also spoke about dancehall and reggae lagging commercially on the global stage while genres inspired by dancehall, like Afrobeats and Reggaeton, have gone mainstream.

“Education,” the artist says as he emphasizes the point that the lack of education is a big factor.

“I’ve seen artists who’ve gotten prime opportunities and because of hustle mentality decided they’re not gonna take it. If you get a manager who don’t know how to build a career they just know how to collect money, you’re gonna have a problem…for me, my biggest thing right in the position I am in now is to create a platform to teach. Anybody can come to me to ask me [anything],” he said as he explained that he had a lengthy conversation with Dexta Daps.

Shaggy added that emotional intelligence and seeing the big picture was very important, especially since an opportunity that doesn’t bring a lot of money may provide a doorway to something way bigger. The Jamaican artist added that he would not only mentor but also connect the artists with reputable lawyers and other professionals who can help their careers.

Spice and Shaggy

Shaggy also said he planned to bring industry professionals from the United States to speak to and share knowledge with artists.

“I want to bring some of my friends, people I deal with, the head of some of these companies and bring them down to Jamaica…just let people learn. It don’t cost people to do knowledge, just come in and learn and draw your own conclusion…there is music business but there’s also the business of music and you need to learn that part,” he continued.

“I’m telling you this 10% if I know then what I know now, I wouldn’t, the amount a money I woulda swim inna but I did not know and I was around people who didn’t know and didn’t want to admit they didn’t know,” Shaggy said.

Shaggy, who received an honorary doctorate from Brown University this year for his contribution to music and culture, has been in music for over two decades. The singer, who has had several notable gigs with Disney and has had his music featured on films soundtracks, shared that opportunities for artists are many but warned that not tapping in to expand potential risks losing major income.

“There’s so much to learn, it is so vast, the amount of avenues of income this entertainment business can bring and if you don’t know how to monetize it, you’re lost and other people will take it, once there’s an opportunity to take you they will,” he said.

Shaggy also touched on the recent debate that reggae belonged to Africa. Still, unlike some opinions which agreed with Stonebwoy, who drew the conclusion, the artist says that Jamaica’s contribution is undeniable and not to be confused with any other argument.

“Each one of these genres, whether it be Reggaeton, whether it be Afrobeats, whether it be Hip Hop, all derive from reggae and dancehall, whether they want to admit or not,” he said.

As for his career being successful, Shaggy says that he has little patience for disrespect as he pointed out that getting international collaborations isn’t as cut and dry as some of the bigger artists are quite disrespectful.

Shaggy did not name any artist, but he claimed that an artist had reached out to him to collaborate and then ghosted him. He also claimed that, in one instance, an artist had asked for $30,000 just to show up to shoot the music video. He also wanted first-class tickets and other ridiculous demands before the song was even commercially successful.

In another instance, he paid for the wardrobe for one artist, but the male artist showed up in a t-shirt to shoot the themed video. In other instances, Shaggy says that some artists are also unwilling to assist with promoting the song using something as simple as their social media.

“Then when dem deh pan the song, them don’t even give you a tweet,” he said as he highlighted working with Sean Paul, who has had to do a lot of work on his own to ensure the collaborations he releases are successful.

50 Cent and Cuban Link Split, Unfollow and Delete Each Other Photos On IG

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Urban Islandz

Exclusive: 50 Cent and Cuban Link have broken up after three years of dating.

Fans started speculating after the rapper suddenly stops following her on Instagram and both deleted photos of each other. Neither 50 Cent nor Cuban Link, whose real name is Jamira Haines, have commented on their split, but sources are telling Urban Islandz that they parted ways weeks ago, and it was somewhat amicable, meaning there is no bad blood, but they are also not friendly and not in any form of communications.

“Am surprised this wasn’t leaked long before now because its been weeks now and its amicable so nothing to see here,” a source familiar with the couple told us. When asked if they remain friends, our source said, “not really.”

50 Cent and Cuban Link started dating in late 2019 when they met at a party in New York City. The couple has been close since, and even at one point were living together. But Fif has since moved to Houston, and Haines stayed in NYC to finish her law degree. The distance might’ve put a strain on their relationship, especially since the Get Rich Or Die Tryin’ rapper is almost always on the road touring or working the sets of his over two dozen TV shows and multiple movies in development.

Instagram

The first signs of cracks in their relationship started earlier this year when 50 Cent’s former G-Unit member turn enemy, The Game, exposed DMs from Cuban Link dated back to 2015 lusting after him. At the time, Fif and the West Coast rapper were locked in a bitter back and forth on social media after The Game stated he wanted a Verzuz with the rap mogul.

In one of the DMs, “video girl?? [side eye emoji].. keep in mind.” Jamira responded to the post saying that she simply wanted to be a video girl and nothing else, which is why she slid in his DMs. The Game later shared a tweet dated back to 2014 where Cuban wrote, “the game so handsome lawdddd [cat heart eyes emojis].”

50 Cent never addressed the DMs or tweets, but Cuban Link was adamant that there was nothing to see here. Additionally, the messages were long before she started dating Fifty.

When Fif turned 47 in July this year, Cuban Link shared a sweet birthday message for him on Instagram, calling him “My favorite person.”

“The epitome of a Man. There’s so much to celebrate you for; your love, generosity, diligence, the list can go on! You are nothing short of a blessing to many!” she wrote.

She has since deleted the post, as well as all traces of 50 Cent on her profile. It’s unclear if the rapper took back the Mayback truck he gifted her for Christmas in 2020. At the moment, she is still following him, but Fif has already hit the unfollow button on the Gram. Cuban was also in attendance at Fifty’s Tycoon weekend party in Houston in August.

Lil Baby Pulls A Shaggy, Denies Being In Photo With Saweetie Sitting On His Lap

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Urban Islandz

Lil Baby is denying that he was a part of the ‘no face, no case’ photo posted by rapper Saweetie last year.

The photo caused some hurt feelings after Saweetie was spotted sitting on a man’s lap with his outfit showing but not his face. Fans snooping later put two and two together and arrived at the juicy conclusion that Lil Baby was the one in the photo, as his fit from a photo he posted on his account on the same was eerily similar.

While on the Big Facts Podcast, the rapper was asked about whether he was the mystery man in the photo. “Nah,” the rapper said while the hosts erupted in laughter at Lil Baby’s hilarious expression. “It ain’t me. for real, I ain’t be lying, no,” he said while laughing.

Fans have reacted to Lil Baby’s response, but not many think his answer is believable as the events that occurred after Saweetie’s posts have been documented.

Lil Baby IG, Saweetie IG

Shortly after the picture was posted, Lil Baby appeared to answer fans’ questions about whether they were dating especially given that Saweetie had recently broken up with Quavo and Quavo/Migos and Lil Baby were not particularly friendly.

At the time, too, Lil Baby’s on and off again girlfriend and mother of his son, Jayda Cheaves, also seemed to have an issue with the post.

In an interview in December, Jayda addressed the rumor that her ex was dating Saweetie, noting that not only did she know about the date, which included shopping at Chanel, but she also appeared hurt that Baby would take his date to do something he did with her.

“The day it happened, I knew about it,” Jayda said as she explained that she had eyes and ears in public that kept tabs on Lil Baby.

“How are you gonna do that to Miss Chanel herself? You don’t think I’m gonna find out about that? I was waiting on somebody to say something,” she said.

Despite saying that he was not the guy in the photo, fans also think that Lil Baby was referring to Saweetie in a recent song and taking shots at Quavo as he directly replied to his “swap it out” comments.

Shaneil Muir Blast Mr. Vegas and Former Manager After IG Live

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Urban Islandz

Shaneil Muir is calling out fellow artist Mr. Vegas and her ex-manager Richie Flores after the latter did an interview claiming that he didn’t owe her money.

The dancehall singer hinted in her Instagram Live this week that she was experiencing issues with her manager, leading many to believe that her decision to step away from dancehall music had something to do with her problems with Flores. On Friday, Shaneil Muir lashed out at Mr. Vegas after his interview on Instagram live with Flores.

“Mr vegas since you have become a mediator I appreciate your intervention so long as you can help support the truth with evidence and authentic documentation so that richie flores does not also taint you as a liar and instigator,” Muir said on her Instagram account on Friday.

In another graphic, she wrote, “For the clarity of doubt please present your exhibits as AUTHENTIC EVIDENCE to support your claim of these accounts that Rebel Ace and its director Mr Richard Flores have assured the masses that he has and that you have seen.”

Instagram

In the Live with Mr. Vegas, Flores claimed that he had been paying Muir’s Road Manager for her tour throughout the time they worked together as well as the booking agent.

Flores confirmed that Muir terminated him as her manager in October, but he did not state her reason for doing so.

It seems that money is at the center of the breakdown, as Flores said that the artist asked that 100% of the funds from her shows be sent to her on October 4. He said that Muir was not receiving 100% of her funds because of “incidentals” that he kept. “Incidentals may happen, an artist may miss a flight… may miss a show and then you would have to return the deposit to the promoter as your responsibility as the booking agent.”

Flores claimed that his company Rebel Ace which managed her bookings and shows, had secured bookings up to 2023. The manager hinted that he was accused of using Muir’s money to go to Paris, which led to the fallout.

“There’s been some insinuating that I use Shaneil money to go to Paris. This is not the case. Right. Me and my wife celebrate the same birthday. My wife work full time, I work full time. We both have jobs. I mean I shouldn’t have to try to explain myself but the fact that people would insinuate that I would take Shaneil’s money is ludicrous.”

In the meantime, Flores says that he was told by Muir on October 4 that he was not authorized to accept funds on her behalf, and the artist later terminated his services on October 10.

The manager added that Shaneil owes him money for the shows that were booked for her up to 2023. On Thursday, the artist shared that she was going to honor her obligations to those promoters, which showed more than a dozen performances in the Caribbean and the United States from October to December and two shows in February 2023.

In the meantime, Flores handed over $4,000 to Muir on October 13 after his company deducted 30% of the monies it held- 20% for management fees and 10% for booking fees. The artist had received 50% of the booking fee from promoters.

Muir has reportedly sent letters from her lawyers demanding that Flores return the 20% management fees he has collected as that is future income for work he has not done. However, her letter says he may keep the 10% booking fee.

Flores is, however, adamant that he owes her anything.

Meanwhile, Muir has reportedly hired a new manager, Cara Vickers, and a lawyer who has sent him a letter accusing him of collecting the remaining funds for a show last week. He denied that he collected any fees from any promoter in Jamaica.

“I’ve never robbed Shaneil, I’ve never taken any money from Shaneil, I was always fair to Shaneil and I think Shaneil is one of the most talented artists out there in the whole industry,” Flores said.

Instagram

On Friday, Shaneil Muir called out her ex-manager, whom she said has not responded to the lawyer’s letter.

“It’s so funny how you find LIVE INTERVIEW hiding your face and you have yet to respond to my lawyer regarding the matter, after giving me only 24 hrs to respond to your cease and desist initially,” she said in a statement posted on her Instagram Story.

“Fire de a muss muss tail him tink a cool breeze,” Flores added.

“Fool man but you can’t fool God. “I’ve known Shaneil long before her success” YES! You were strategic in your planning. MasterMind!” she added in another Instagram Story.

Megan Thee Stallion Reacts To Tasha K Claims On Nicki Minaj Instagram Live

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Urban Islandz

Tasha K continues to target celebrities with false rumors as she seems to have Megan Thee Stallion as her latest target for gossip.

The YouTuber, who was sued by Cardi B, appeared to get messy after joining Nicki Minaj on an Instagram Live video where she weirdly volunteered information about Megan Thee Stallion’s home while seemingly blaming the Houston rapper for the recent house break-in.

On Friday night, Tasha K’s comments left many wondering about her reasons for targeting Megan, who was featured on Cardi B’s “WAP.” In recent months, Cardi B and Nicki Minaj’s beef has gotten tense, mainly as Nicki Minaj continues to drag younger rappers who are close to Cardi.

“We’re just talking about Megan. You know she done f##### up Teyana’s house. Teyana had to sell that house,” Tasha K says to Nicki Minaj, who appears clueless about what she is rambling about. “You know Megan was renting that house, and that’s why [she] and [stylist E.J. King] fell out,” Tasha K continues before Minaj asks, “who?”

At some point, Nicki Minaj seems interested in the gossip as she catches on, “Teyana Taylor?” she asks before they both laugh, and Tasha K continues to explain while Minaj chews her ice very loudly but doesn’t say much.

“What I said was Teyana Taylor sold the house that she rented to Megan Thee Stallion,” repeated Tasha K. “Of course, we’re going to say allegedly just in case some details are wrong. However, that was the same house that Teyana had to beg for money from, because Megan, the house got vandalized by her people from her showing off the house.”

Megan Thee Stallion’s house was broken into recently, and thieves made off of valuables amounting to around $300,000. Megan did not comment on the house break-in except to assure fans that she was fine.

On Friday night, not long after the snippet of the Live went viral, the rapper shared a cryptic tweet some fans think is her reaction.

“Weird,” Megan wrote along with the roll eyes emoji.

While Minaj did not say much while Tasha K rambled on, some social media users accused her of being messy and, instead of changing the top, listening to and allowing Tasha K to deliver juicy gossip, knowing that it would be perceived as her continued campaign, against younger rappers who have worked with Cardi B or are friends of hers.

Minaj has been gunning for younger rappers in the past months as she seems upset that the younger rappers are experiencing a much easier music climate than she did as a young rapper.

Last week, Minaj and Latto also had a blowup, with Latto accusing her of bullying her after Minaj’s song “Super Freaky Girl” was kicked out the Grammys rap category and placed in the pop resulting in the Recording Academy catching some heat for it. Despite the move had nothing to do with the Grammy, Minaj lashed out at Latto, triggering a heated back and forth with the two on Twitter.

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Urban Islandz

Conscious dancehall icon Sizzla is thankful for the consideration by the Recording Academy in the running for the 65th Grammy Awards. He could be among the nominees for Best Reggae Album for his latest work, Rise Up. He’ll have to wait until Tuesday, November 15, to know if the album was selected.

The last time he received a nomination was in 2014 for the self-produced album The Messiah. The “Just One of Those Days” artist spoke with STAR about the nomination and what it means to him.

“I would like to say thanks to the Most High Jah Rastafari for his divine inspiration, who had endowed me with the strength, love, life and intelligence in keeping my being wholesome and healthy for me to be able to deliver my messages of love and culture to the people of the world,” he shared.

He also said that he was especially thankful to his fans and those who voted for the album to be nominated, as they have been his die-hard supporters since the very beginning of his career. Sizzla shot to fame in the 90s with his lyrical flow at a time when conscious dancehall was dominating the airwaves throughout the Caribbean region.

Like most hard-working artists, he’s never stopped churning out hits and has well over 50 albums. His most popular albums from which many tracks are still played throughout the Caribbean include Black Woman and Child, Praise Ye Jah, and Good Ways.

This latest project, RISE, has 12 tracks and was produced by his label Kalonji Music Production and Blaqk Sheep Music. It was released on July 22. Sizzla, who was born to devout Rastafarian parents, has definitely stayed true to his beliefs.

He is currently the indigenous president of the Nyabinghi Theocracy Reign government of the Rastafari nation, an ambassador of the Ethiopia Africa Black International Congress True Divine Church of Salvation, and an ambassador to Jamaica in black culture, black heritage, and black history.

All of his devotion to his way of life has helped mold most of his albums, including this one as well. He explained that it’s not just for the people of Jamaica that he does music but for all the people around the world who hold steadfast to the Rastafarian way.

The “Good Ways” singer also said that he is encouraged by the fact his music has helped people to feel more connected to Jamaican culture and that the island’s music has continued to flourish in a competitive world market.

“I expect Sizzla to continue in the path of his Majesty, teaching the people of the world through his music and help in advancing the welfare and well-being of a people so poised at getting to the world and having the right things done,” he added.

Sizzla has remained a cornerstone of the conscious dancehall movement in Jamaica and has at least 21 albums that have made it onto Billboard’s Top Reggae Albums music chart.

Sizzla, along with Capleton, Norris Man, Turbulence, Buju Banton, and Anthony B, are credited with leading a movement that saw the reemergence of the Rastafarian way of life through their highly sought-after music.
