NBA YoungBoy Take Shots At Kodak Black For Dissing Never Broke Again Fans

Black Immigrant Daily News

NBA YoungBoy didn’t take too likely Kodak Black saying he doesn’t like his Never Broke Again fans.

It looks like yet another beef is brewing in the hip-hop world. This time two very popular artists look set to go at it as NBA YoungBoy has responded and not kindly to Kodak Black’s criticism of his fans. Earlier this month, Kodak Black took to Twitter to share his opinion of YoungBoy Never Broke Again’s music.

While he admitted that he likes the “I Hate Youngboy” rapper’s music, he also said that he found the artist’s fans irritating. In that tweet, he added that he was stating what everyone else was afraid to say and felt like his opinion was the same consensus in the industry.

Youngboy fired back yesterday, August 11, on Instagram, calling out Kodak by saying that anybody who didn’t like his fans was a “pu*sy” in his books. That was the direct shot he took at Kodak, but the rest of the message was mostly a veiled one.

“To be honest I really don’t care about this being my last album,” he wrote. “I finally can say I completed something. I ain’t finish school. I never finish nothing but my smoke… but nah gangster I then shedded tears from the way y’all been doing me but it’s all for the better. tell li Dave and my grandma I completed something and I’m doing fine.”

Strangely enough, a short while after he made the post, his account was removed from Instagram. It’s not yet known if that move was voluntary.

However, it does appear that NBA YoungBoy puts his fans first and is willing to go to war to defend them. The post also made it clear that he doesn’t rock with anyone who puts down his fans. Kodak’s issues started when YoungBoy’s fans began trolling his posts by replying “YB Better.”

The “Tunnel Vision” rapper presented his evidence on Twitter on August 5. At that time, he took umbrage with how the fans were trolling him as he also added that it seemed he couldn’t do anything with Youngboy’s fans saying that their artist was better than him.

At one point, he posted: “N***a Can’t Even Post A Cheeseburger Without They A#s Under A Post Talm Bout ‘YB Post His Burger Better.’ I Love It That’s Kool But The Sh*t B Irritating Af Homie, Y’all Stay On Dat N***a Page Wit Dat Sh*t.”

It seemed to affect his mental health so much that he threatened to delete his Twitter account, but that never materialized. In that disturbing tweet, he also said that he had reached the point where he felt like hurting YB’s fans, even though he promoted his new album in the same post.

It may have been a combination of things that had him in a weird mental space, though, as he also admitted that he was tired of the fame and the pressure that comes with it.

NBA YoungBoy and Kodak Black have never really been good with each other. In 2020, the Florida rapper went as far as to accuse the Baton Rouge rapper of cooperating with Houston police. That was in regards to the case with Floyd Mayweather’s daughter, Iyanna Mayweather, who was arrested for allegedly stabbing Lapattra Lashai Jacobs, who is the mother of YoungBoy’s child.

During that time, he said that Iyana stayed at his place and that she was his wife and even went as far as to say that NBA snitched on him while he was in jail. A lot of that tweet was also directed at NBA in anger.

Knowing how Kodak Black usually operates, there’s probably a strong response coming.

Willian leaves Brazil’s Corinthians, eyes return to England Loop Jamaica

Black Immigrant Daily News

SAO PAULO (AP) — Former Chelsea and Arsenal winger Willian terminated his contract with Brazil’s Corinthians on Friday and said he will return to England to play.

Brazilian media linked the 34-year-old Willian with a move to Premier League club Fulham.

Willian also said in an interview with TV Globo that he left Corinthians because of threats he and his family received via social media.

“The reason why I am leaving is the threats I suffered, my family too. They never stopped. Whenever Corinthians lost and I was not doing well in the match, my family received those threats, insults on social media,” Willian said. “I know this is not most fans, it is a minority, but that causes a big impact, especially to my daughters.”

Corinthians confirmed Willian was released from his contract, which was due expire in December 2023. He had returned to the Sao Paulo-based club, where he started his career, one year ago.

“My objective is to live abroad. I have a British passport, so I can live there with my family,” Willian added. “I have no club yet. I will decide once I am there.”

Willian will exit Corinthians after a frustrating year in his home nation, having scored only one goal in 45 matches. The winger recently had been plagued by shoulder and thigh injuries.

Willian’s decision comes only days after Corinthians were eliminated by Flamengo in the quarterfinals of the Copa Libertadores.

Willian’s best moments were at Chelsea, where he played from 2013-20. He won two Premier League titles and a Europa League trophy. But at Arsenal he was far from his previous form; he scored only once for the club.

The winger played for Brazil in the 2014 and 2018 World Cups.

Spice Dishes On Justin Budd Breakup, Says Rasta Too Controlling

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Urban Islandz

Spice is finally breaking her silence as she addresses the months-long speculation that she and her director beau, Justin Budd, are no longer together.

Spice has deleted all of the photos and videos of Budd from her Instagram account, and the two appear not to be following each other on Instagram. Spice has also dropped several hints on her account pointing to a split with Justin Budd, but she has not said anything until now.

In a recent video, Spice seemingly addresses the rumors as she confirms that the relationship has ended and passionately shares her reasons.

According to Spice, who first publicly shared her romance with Budd in 2020, she cannot deal with a controlling man. “Me love, if yuh want man fi control yuh, mek you no go deh with him,” Spice says while eating Watermelon on Instagram Live.

“Every minute oonu a talk bout ‘mi miss rasta’… mi wuk too hard fi deh which part me deh me don’t want no man stress, mi nuh no man hold me down, me nuh want no man tell me wha fi do, mi nuh want no man tell me say me can’t dance, me can’t do this, me can’t skin out, mi can’t bruk out, me can’t wear certain clothes, me can’t this, me can’t that,” Spice says.

“Me not doing it,” Spice screams at the camera. “Me very sorry. Take me as I am or leave me the f**k alone, it’s very simple. Me nah make no man stress me out,” Spice says as she breaks out into a line from her latest song, “Clap Clap.”

It seems that Spice was addressing a fan who was asking about Budd. The singer got savage as she said she would send the fan Budd’s number.

“Every minute oonu a ask me this and oonu a ask me that, mi have a choice and me choose oonu, me choose fi perform the same way me always perform, me choose fi be me same self. Me not changing to please nobody,” Spice says as she raises her voice.

The artist also tells the fan that if she misses Rasta, she can go and be with him.

Spice has two children for her baby father, Nicholas Lall. The artist has been single for many years before declaring her love for Justin Budd, whom she met while living in Atlanta and filming for Love and Hip Hop Atlanta, where she is now a regular cast member.

Spice and Budd have been seen enjoying vacations in Mexico and Jamaica together, and she has shared her gratitude for him being in her children’s life.

Budd has not publicly spoken about the relationship, but he still has photos of their couple on his Instagram account, including with her children.

Spice first signaled that there was trouble in paradise last September while promoting her single “Go Down Deh” with Shaggy and Sean Paul on the Wendy Williams show, where she told the host she was single.

Spice & Justin Budd @spiceofficial IG

Spice and Justin Budd later had a fight on Love and Hip Hop Atlanta over the statement. At the time, Spice had revealed that the couple had a falling out. However, it seems that the couple’s relationship had started to go downhill sometime during the show last year. The couple had another fight on the show, this time over Spice’s dancing and performance.

Spice had explained that the American felt her dancing and backing it up on stage was not respected even though it is part of her culture. Her dancing also forms a big part of her stage experience, earning her the coveted title of “Queen of the Stage” due to her energetic performances involving her dancing, splitting, and performing other explicit moves. The dance moves are not considered sexual in Jamaican culture, especially for entertainers.

It seems that the culture shock was too much for the relationship, or maybe there was none, to begin with, as some fans of the show are speculating that the season just ended and the storylines are wrapped, so Spice’s “fake” relationship with Budd need not continue.

5 Reasons why Bajans’ Light bills are less for August Loop Barbados

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Barbados News

The Barbados Light & Power Company (Light & Power) has delivered great news to its customers that August bills will indeed be lower for five reasons.

1. Energy Bridge online

First off, Managing Director Roger Blackman has said:

“Light & Power’s new Clean Energy Bridge (CEB) plant at Trents, St Lucy was commissioned on June 28 and, starting this month, is delivering an overall net decrease in fuel costs. For us, the CEB has always represented a commitment to our more than 128,000 customers to stabilize electricity fuel costs and maintain system reliability as the island transitions to a renewable energy future.”

2. Oil price drops

Secondly, global oil prices are also impacting the fuel component customers’ electricity bills for August.

“Over the past 18 months, we have seen a steady rise in global oil prices, resulting in sometimes dramatic increases to the fuel charge on electricity bills. We know it hasn’t been easy on our customers. Last month, we started to see the impact of the declining international oil price and we were pleased to see that the price, which directly impacts the FCA charged to customers, continued to drop and is now in the region of US $90 per barrel from a high of US $119 per barrel in March.”

3. Lower Fuel Adjustment Clause

The Fuel Clause Adjustment (FCA) for August 2022 is 39.0819 cents per kilowatt hour (kWh), a decrease of 17% over July’s FCA of 47.0855 cents per kWh.

As a result of the operation of the CEB and the lower international oil prices, for the average residential customer who uses around 250 kWh per month, the decrease in the FCA equates to a reduction of about $24 in the fuel portion of their August bill.

4. 10 per cent less in VAT

Blackman also noted that “Effective in time for August electricity bills is the Government’s reduction in VAT from 17.5% to 7.5% on the first 250 kWh consumed per month, bringing an additional $15 in savings for customers using 250 kWh or more in a month. With the VAT reduction factored in, these customers can expect to see a drop of about $39 on their August bill as compared to July.”

5. Discount (This one depends on customers)

Light & Power reminds customers of the early payment discount of 10%, which provides a further opportunity for monthly energy cost savings.

Author Salman Rushdie attacked on lecture stage in New York Loop Barbados

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Barbados News

Salman Rushdie, the author whose writing led to death threats from Iran in the 1980s, was attacked and apparently stabbed in the neck Friday by a man who rushed the stage as he was about to give a lecture in western New York.

An Associated Press reporter witnessed a man confront Rushdie on stage at the Chautauqua Institution and punch or stab him 10 to 15 times as he was being introduced. The 75-year-old author was pushed or fell to the floor, and the man was arrested.

State police said Rushdie was apparently stabbed in the neck and was flown to a hospital. His condition wasn’t immediately known. The moderator at the event was also attacked and suffered a minor head injury, police said.

Rabbi Charles Savenor was among the roughly 2,500 people in the audience. Amid gasps, spectators were ushered out of the outdoor amphitheatre.

The assailant ran onto the platform “and started pounding on Mr. Rushdie. At first you’re like, ‘What’s going on?’ And then it became abundantly clear in a few seconds that he was being beaten,” Savenor said. He said the attack lasted about 20 seconds.

Another spectator, Kathleen Jones, said the attacker was dressed in black, with a black mask.

“We thought perhaps it was part of a stunt to show that there’s still a lot of controversy around this author. But it became evident in a few seconds” that it wasn’t, she said.

A bloodied Rushdie was quickly surrounded by a small group of people who held up his legs, presumably to send more blood to his chest.

Rushdie has been a prominent spokesman for free expression and liberal causes. He is a former president of PEN America, which said it was “reeling from shock and horror” at the attack.

“We can think of no comparable incident of a public violent attack on a literary writer on American soil,” CEO Suzanne Nossel said in a statement.

Rushdie “has been targeted for his words for decades but has never flinched nor faltered,” she added.

His 1988 book “The Satanic Verses” was viewed as blasphemous by many Muslims. Often-violent protests against Rushdie erupted around the world, including a riot that killed 12 people in Mumbai.

The novel was banned in Iran, where the late leader Grand Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini issued a 1989 fatwa, or edict, calling for Rushdie’s death. Khomeini died that same year.

Iran’s current Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has never issued a fatwa of his own withdrawing the edict, though Iran in recent years hasn’t focused on the writer.

Iran’s mission to the United Nations did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Friday’s attack.

A bounty of over $3 million has also been offered for anyone who kills Rushdie.

The death threats and bounty led Rushdie to go into hiding under a British government protection program, which included a round-the-clock armed guard. Rushdie emerged after nine years of seclusion and cautiously resumed more public appearances, maintaining his outspoken criticism of religious extremism overall.

He has said he is proud of his fight for freedom of expression, saying in a 2012 talk in New York that terrorism is really the art of fear.

“The only way you can defeat it is by deciding not to be afraid,” he said.

Iran’s government has long since distanced itself from Khomeini’s decree, but anti-Rushdie sentiment has lingered. The Index on Censorship, an organization promoting free expression, said money was raised to boost the reward for his killing as recently as 2016, underscoring that the fatwa for his death still stands.

In 2012, Rushdie published a memoir, “Joseph Anton,” about the fatwa. The title came from the pseudonym Rushdie had used while in hiding.

Rushdie rose to prominence with his Booker Prize-winning 1981 novel “Midnight’s Children,” but his name became known around the world after “The Satanic Verses.”

The Chautauqua Institution, about 55 miles southwest of Buffalo in a rural corner of New York, has served for more than a century as a place for reflection and spiritual guidance. Visitors don’t pass through metal detectors or undergo bag checks. Most people leave the doors to their century-old cottages unlocked at night.

Police said a state trooper was assigned to Rushdie’s lecture.

The Chautauqua centre is known for its summertime lecture series, where Rushdie has spoken before. Speakers address a different topic each week. Rushdie and moderator Henry Reese were set to discuss “the United States as asylum for writers and other artists in exile and as a home for freedom of creative expression.”
