Ce vendredi 12 août, aux alentours de 10h15, le vol SS924 de la compagnie Corsair a été dérouté suite à l’indiscipline d’une passagère.

Après environ une demi-heure du décollage, le vol SS924 au départ de Paris Orly et à destination de l’aéroport Aimé Césaire (Fort-de-France) de la compagnie Corsair a été dérouté vers Orly. Pour cause, une passagère s’est mise à fumer dans les toilettes vers l’arrière de l’appareil en plein vol. L’équipage a été alerté par le son des alarmes à plusieurs reprises et a tenté de raisonner la passagère, qui a répondu agressivement. Cette dernière s’en est donc pris au personnel de l’équipage du vol. À l’atterrissage à Paris, les forces de l’ordre l’ont interpellé directement dans l’avion.

Le vol n’a pu repartir qu’environ 2h après cet incident, il est de nouveau en route vers Fort-de-France.

Une enquête est ouverte, selon la compagnie aérienne.

Basseterre, St. Kitts, August 12, 2022 (SKNIS) — In commemoration of the third anniversary of the SKN Moves initiative, SKN Moves will host its 3rd annual SKN Moves Health Walk on Saturday 13th August 2022 commencing at Caribbean Cinemas at 5:30 a.m.

To participate in the SKN Moves Health Walk, businesses/organizations may complete the T-Shirt requisition form attached to purchase SKN Moves Shirts as a group. Please submit the form to the Health Promotion Unit by email, at marissa.carty@gov.kn or  skhealthpromotionunit@gov.kn. Please note that the deadline for submitting the form is today, Tuesday 9th August 2022. This is to ensure that the shirts are printed and available for pickup before the walk.

Below is the list of colours available. Businesses/Organizations may choose a single colour to represent their organization.

The National Land Agency (NLA) and the Commissioner of Lands are cautioning the public that they have not issued any publication or statements indicating that lands are available for sale within the Old Harbour, St Catherine area, and/or its environs.

The NLA, in a statement Friday, said this includes properties in the Church Street and Thetford areas.

“The National Land Agency / Commissioner of Lands is therefore advising potential investors to do their due diligence before engaging in any arrangement for these lands, or any other properties. When lands and or properties are available for sale or divestment by the National Land Agency /Commissioner of Lands, they are advertised on the Agency’s website at: www.nla.gov.jm , in the newspaper, and at various locations within locality to the land or property to include: post offices, police stations, tax offices, etc,” the NLA said.

It is urging members of the public to exercise vigilance, and to contact the agency if they have queries about any land or property.

Goodwill Enterprise has indicated that its Big Pot game is unaffected by a court injunction concerning the use of a specific image used in marketing material for Lucky Play Games.

Lucky Play is publicly traded as Goodwill Enterprises Limited.

“On January 29, 2022, the Supreme Court of Jamaica issued an interim injunction relating to the use of a specific image used in some of the marketing material for our Lucky Play Games. The order, and related court proceedings which is still ongoing, do not affect the “Big Pot” game and the use of the name “Big Pot” is protected by a duly registered trademark,” stated Goodwill’s firm Myers, Fletcher and Gordon.

Goodwill’s rival Supreme Ventures Limited (SVL) had secured an injunction against the company.

In the meantime, Lucky Play says it continues to find creative ways to grow and connect with its players.

“Lucky Play was launched to provide the best opportunities to our players and that is a mission we will stand on,” noted Chairman of Goodwill Enterprises Limited, Ian Dear.

Goodwill said it continues to offer Big Pot and other Lucky Play games to our valued customers.

Lucky Play Lottery launched in February 2021 with its flagship product, Big Pot, offering the highest-pay out of lottery games in Jamaica.

Basseterre, St. Kitts, August 10, 2022 (SKNIS): Prominent leaders from across the region continue to convey congratulatory messages to the Honourable Dr. Terrance Michael Drew, who was officially sworn in on Saturday, August 06, 2022, as St. Kitts and Nevis’ fourth Prime Minister.

Prime Minister of Barbados the Honourable Mia Amor Mottley Q.C., M.P., offered heartfelt congratulations to Prime Minister Drew and his team, adding that she is leading the country at a crucial time.

“You take up the helm at a critical juncture in our region and the world. Our service-based economies are still reeling from the effects of the current COVID 19 pandemic, while the climate crisis poses a severe threat to our countries. It is my hope that the tangible solutions to these and other challenges can be obtained whilst we work in concert with the international community,” said Prime Minister Mottley in a congratulatory message addressed to Prime Minister Drew. “The reinforcement of Caribbean Community (CARICOM) mechanisms which lend itself to closer regional collaboration is needed now more than ever. I look forward to our working together at both the regional and bilateral levels to the benefit of our people.”

Prime Minister Mottley pledges her government’s full support to Prime Minister Drew and his team.

Shimron Hetmyer has been recalled to West Indies One-Day International (ODI) squad for the three-match ODI leg of the ongoing home series against New Zealand.

All three matches will be day/night games played under floodlights at Kensington Oval in Barbados August 17, 19 and 21.

Hetmyer returned to West Indies colours for the first time since November 2021 for the T20I series against India and New Zealand. He had been excluded mostly on fitness grounds.

The Guyanese last play an ODI in July 2021.

The squad includes one new face in the Guyanese offspin-bowling allrounder Kevin Sinclair, who has played six T20Is but is yet to make his ODI debut.

“As we stated before, we are looking to broaden the pool of players, and we have decided to give Sinclair an opportunity in the CG United ODI Series against New Zealand,” lead selector Desmond Haynes said. “He has been in the system for a while and was also in the ‘A Team’ to play against Bangladesh ‘A’ in the upcoming series. We believe with his calm approach and skills he will do well in the matches against New Zealand.”

Spin-bowling allrounder Roston Chase is unavailable for selection due to injury while fellow allrounder Fabien Allen of Jamaica is also unavailable for personal reasons.

The hard-hitting middle-order batter Rovman Powell of Jamaica, and the seam-bowling allrounder Romario Shepherd were not selected.
