Beenie Man Chided Bounty Killer and Mr. Vegas For Warring In Golden Years

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Urban Islandz

Beenie Man is adding his two cents to the ongoing dancehall war between Mr. Vegas and Bounty Killer.

The two artists have been at each other’s throats over the past few weeks, and their feud, which involves lyrical diss tracks, also got personal, with each artist making grave accusations at the other.

Mr. Vegas at first called Bounty Killer a derogatory name and claimed that the artist fathered a child with a minor when she was 15 years old and he was much older. Bounty Killer also shared that a woman alleges that she was raped by Mr. Vegas when she was only 13 years old.

The feud has been polarizing, with some like Dexta Daps, taking Bounty Killer’s side and running the risk of being set upon by Mr. Vegas. Beenie Man, however, says he is disappointed in the artists as they are older and ought to set better examples.

“Memba me ah di King of the Dancehall and memba mi fight dancehall artists to be together and that’s why mi nuh like this war with Vegas and Bounty Killer,” Beenie Man said on the Let’s Be Honest podcast.

“It nuh make nuh sense. Vegas ah forty (years old) and Bounty Killer ah 50 (years old). Weh you a go with that,” the artist added.

Beenie Man went on to name some of the greatest dancehall hits coming from both artists as he broke out into Vegas’ “Heads High.’

“Weh yuh do?” Beenie Man asked Mr. Vegas.

Beenie Man said he isn’t blameless because he keeps up “foolishness,” but it’s always for a purpose.

The dancehall veteran also shared that when Vybz Kartel and Mavado were beefing during the infamous Gully/Gaza feud, he had intervened and advised Kartel to meet with the “Caribbean Girls” artist to show unity so that the violence their fans were unleashing would stop.

Beenie Man also revealed that the artists met up in Tivoli, but Kartel later came on TV and took credit for the idea.

Beenie also cautioned Vegas, noting that Bounty Killer was not one to mess with.

“The people dem come out for Bounty cause yuh a spider,” he said as he trailed off singing one of Bounty’s famous clash songs.

He also shared that he had a role to play in urging Kartel to extend the olive branch and quash his feud with Mavado.

“When yuh go down a Tivoli try make sure say you make Mavado call you out. Yuh nave fi fall him out because ah you ah di man at this point. So just make them know say ‘yow eh bwoy’ cause you have 100 man weh bad and yuh bad too, so anuh like him can tell you say him nah call you out,” Beenie Man said.

In the meantime, Beenie Man also shared his opinion on what the artists nowadays call “clash,” noting that it was inferior to the true form of a ‘clash’ is in dancehall culture.

“Juggling mash up because the artist dem nah go pan the same riddim weh the next artist deh pon, that never mek sense. The man dem mash up dancehall…the man dem deh online wid war,” Beenie Man joked. “Yuh can’t go no stage go see dem war, yuh a eediat?”

Beenie Man also couldn’t hold himself back as he opinionated that you can’t keep Sting in the countryside, which is how the clash culture is characterized – being in Kingston, where the fans’ energy is more receptive to lyrical clashes.

“Soft crowd don’t know nothing about war…mi have hope fi Sting but a just the venue, the wrong venue,” Beenie Man said.

In the meantime, Beenie Man offered advice for Sting, noting that the event should be held for $1,000 at the Stadium parking lot to be open to people who have a genuine love for clash culture so they can ‘fawud’ and grow Sting’s profile.

Blueface wasn’t too pleased that Chrisean Rock posed for some lens time with the Biggest Bawse, Rick Ross, at the Super Bowl on Sunday.

Rock posed for several photos at the event, and it seems that Blueface was not too pleased, especially as he called her out over the Rubi Rose/ DDG drama that went down on Sunday.

Chrisean Rock, who is a celebrity in her own right, was spotted on Rick Ross’ Instagram Stories, but while the photo appeared innocent, Blueface appeared upset and went off on a rant about the qualities he wanted in a woman.

Drake and His Son Adonis Did Their First Interview Together

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Urban Islandz

Drake and Adonis Graham had their first on-camera interview, and it’s quite interesting as the little one gushes about his father while Drake also shares how fatherhood has changed his life.

The moment Drake became a father was during his infamous beef with Pusha T, but it wasn’t what fans expected, and it certainly didn’t appear to be what Drake wanted as the Def Jam artist revealed that Drake had allegedly hidden his child that he had with an adult film star from the world.

Over the years, Drake has shown bits and pieces of his son, whose personality mirrors his father’s a lot. Adonis Graham certainly seems to be into sports like his father, and we’ll have to wait and see about his musical inclinations, but for now, he seems to be quite the storyteller.

In “Sundae Conversation” with Barstool Sports host Caleb Pressley, Adonis is being interviewed, and he has some hilarious responses to some grown-up questions. “What does that mean,” Adonis asks when Caleb announces that he is “Drizzy Drake’s son.”

The scene cuts to another one where Adonis discusses his fans. “There’s a lot of fans of me that are really nice to me,” he says, and when questioned, he answers, “they say I like you because you’re being nice to me.”

Adonis also smiles as Caleb presses him about being mean to fans. The youngster turns away and smiles as he answers. The conversation, however, takes a confusing turn as Adonis talks about fans fighting him.

“No never,” Adonis laughs when Caleb asks if he would punch his opponent by the nuts.

Adonis also says he can’t read but says, “there’s a him that can read, his name is Kyle,” when asked.

“Do you think if you have a better day you’d be able to read?” Adonis is asked, and he has the sweetest reply, “This is my better dad,” he says, looking at his father.

“Yeah, that’s a funny dad, also he does a lot of jokes,” Adonis answers when asked if Drake did a better job at home, he’d be able to read.

At the end of the interview, Drake is also asked if Adonis “c–kblocks” Drake so he doesn’t have another kid to “split” his inheritance.

The rapper laughs and says, “no not really,” and then goes on to share how his son might be sending him a message.

“Yeah no, he definitely is always like vibing out with me, telling me how great I am like as a father, like a single father, so maybe he is delivering a message.”

Drake is also asked later in the sitdown about the 42 diamonds chain, which he hinted at last year, which symbolizes the many times he thought of proposing.

“It was more just a joke, but obviously people took it pretty literal. I was just trying to have an interesting story,” the Canadian rapper said.

Drake also talked about his preference for boobs being “one of the greatest things that we have on Earth,” and he also explained his use of the word, ‘b*tch’ in his raps.

“I’m proud to say, I don’t really drop the b-word in person,” he said. “I’ve said it in raps a fair share, but I’m not really walking around the streets like, ‘B*tch, b*tch, b*tch.’”

The interview ended on some sweet moments with Drake being asked about his love for gambling big, and when asked about his most rewarding bet, he responded, “Fatherhood.”

“For all the people out there, you can always bet on fatherhood,” said Drake said while the host appeared to mock him.

Rihanna Pregnant With 2nd Child Show Baby Bump At Super Bowl Halftime Show

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Urban Islandz

Rihanna is pregnant with her second child with boyfriend A$AP Rocky and revealed her baby bump during her Super Bowl Halftime Show performance on Sunday.

The Bajan pop singer’s Super Bowl outfit left fans wondering if she is pregnant as she appeared to rub her stomach during the last song she performed on Sunday night. Rihanna’s anticipated return to the Super Bowl finally came, and it seems that the artist has delivered more than her performance, as many felt that she might be announcing her second pregnancy to the intuitive fan.

A representative for Rihanna has since confirmed that she is pregnant with her second child with A$AP Rocky and had planned to reveal her baby bump during her performance. RiRi came out on stage in what looks like a red body suit and an oversized red jacket as she belted out “B*tch Better Have My Money,” followed by “Where Have You Been” and “Only Girl (In the World)” as well as several hit songs that spanned her 17-year career.

While there are mixed reviews of her 12-minute performance, it was her protruding stomach that sparked the most interest and commentary as fans have concluded that the Bajan National Hero is carrying her second child.

On Twitter, “She Pregnant,” “ASAP Rocky,” and “Rihanna” all trended simultaneously, with fans musing about the possible pregnancy. “Me realizing Rihanna is pregnant again, and we’re never getting another album,” one fan wrote.

Some fans also questioned if it was rude to make assumptions about Rihanna’s body, given that she recently had a baby boy. “The whole timeline afraid to ask if Rihanna is pregnant,” one person wrote on Twitter.

Meanwhile, another fan shared a snippet from RiRi’s recent Total Access interview to promote the Super Bowl, where she appeared to give a hint that she might be bringing “someone,” but it would be a surprise.

“I’m thinking about bringing someone,” she replied when asked ‘will there be a surprise?’ “I’m not sure. We’ll see,” the singer added.

One fan wrote, “When Rihanna said she was thinking about bringing a guest, she was referring to her pregnancy and we didn’t even catch it. Rihanna is PREGNANT!”

Some fans also tried to do the math as Rihanna gave birth back in May 2022 to a bouncing baby boy. Neither RiRi nor A$AP Rocky has given any indication that they are expanding their family, but the couple is thought to have been married after Rocky released his track “DMB,” showing them wearing “I do” grills last year.

Meanwhile, quite a few celebrities also reacted to her performance. “Go Girl,” Chris Brown wrote with the heart emojis. City Girls rapper JT also wrote, “Congratulations,” on Instagram.

The Prime Minister of Barbados, Mia Mottley, has also congratulate Rihanna, who is a national hero in her birth country. “Shining bright like a diamond atop the world! Our National Hero – Keep making all #Bajans proud!” Mottley wrote.

The content originally appeared on: Urban Islandz

Rubi Rose has released messages DDG sent to her recently as she called out the rapper for being a hypocrite.

On Saturday, Rubi shared a cryptic tweet claiming that her ex had allegedly given her clothing to his new girl. Fans later deduced that the tweet might be directed at Halle Bailey as they dug up an old photo of Rubi in the same shirt. Rubi appeared to confirm that she was talking about DDG and Halle.

“Having a b*tch where my clothes is crazy lol,” she said in the first tweet. She also added another tweet, “I like Halle. DDG a weird tho fasho,” she added.

On Sunday, the two artists also exchanged posts insulting each other as Rubi exposed DDG for jumping into her Twitter DMs and trying to link up after he and Halle argued.

DDG also denied the accusation.

“Superrr [cap]. N—as is not pressed over you.”

DDG, who was live online, also reacted to the entire thing by shouting, “I hate this bi–h.”

In a follow-up tweet, DDG also seemed to hint that everything was fine with him and Halle.

“Everything good internally. This whole situation was foreshadowed. I know everybody want me to be the bad guy but I’m really not,” he said.

Rubi also shared a screen recording of the chat with DDG to clear speculations that the screenshots were real, but DDG implied she was lying, calling it “CGI.”

The two also exchanged messages accusing each other of being hung up on the other.

“Don’t believe nun she say. She been stuck on me for 2 years. She hurt,” DDG said.

In all of this, fans of Halle shared second-hand embarrassment for the Little Mermaid actress.

Halle Bailey has since reacted on Twitter telling her boyfriend not to feed into the lies. “the devil is working lol please don’t feed into the lies, especially from a third party stay blessed everyone,” she tweeted.

50 Cent Bait Ja Rule Trashes Billboard After Left off 50 Greatest Rappers List

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Urban Islandz

Ja Rule says there is no 50 Greatest Rappers Of All Time list, whether dead or alive, without him being on it. 50 Cent, who has made Ja a regular target on social media, will likely have a field day with this.

The rapper reacted to Billboard’s 50 Greatest Rappers of All Time list released earlier this week which left him off. Many fans of the rapper felt that the snub was disrespectful. In a series of tweets, the rapper addressed the snub as he called out Billboard for seemingly ignoring his extensive and impactful career.

“There ain’t 50 rappers dead, alive or waiting to be born better than me,” he wrote on Twitter. “@billboard congrats to everyone on the list well deserved but check my resume… #ICONN #Vibes.”

The rapper also added some self-validation in his reaction adding in another tweet, “Throw me to the wolves I’ll come back leading the pack… #ICONN #Vibes.”

Ja Rule is an iconic rapper whose electrifying performances still sell out shows despite being in the game for more than 20 years now. He is also well-known around the world, and he shared a photo on Instagram to remind Billboard and others.

“I’m what they call a POLARIZING figure… You can love me or hate me but you will respect me… Men lie Women lie numbers don’t!!!”

Ja Rule is among a handful of rappers with notable contributions to the culture who were left off of the list. Among them are Foxy Brown and a few others. Some rappers were also placed in positions fans disagreed with. For example, Kanye West was not named in the top 5, and Ice Cube, who was listed as No. 18, also disagreed with the publication.

“I don’t f— with Billboard or the editor…Billboard ain’t hip-hop. So, their opinion don’t matter. So, who gives a f—?” he said to TMZ.

Others also called out Billboard for not listing Busta Rhymes, DMX, E40, Jeezy, and a score of other rappers higher up on the list.

Drake Ordered By Judge To Stand Deposition In XXXTentacion’s Trial

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Urban Islandz

A judge has granted a defense motion that forces Canadian rapper Drake to sit for a deposition in the ongoing trial of three defendants charged with first degree of rapper XXXTentacion in June 2018.

The Canadian rapper will have to comply with the order to sit for the deposition on February 24 after previously ignoring several requests by defense lawyer Mauricio Padilla representing Diedrick Williams.

The defendants Michael Boatwright (28), who is alleged to be the killer who shot X, Williams (26), the alleged driver of the car and alleged mastermind behind the murder, and Trayvon Newsome (24), the other alleged gunman are charged with first-degree murder with a firearm and armed robbery with a firearm in the murder of XXXTentacion whose real name is Jahseh Onfroy.

The defense attorney for Williams, during opening statements, asked that the court grant an order to show cause in order to subpoena Drake to sit for deposition as there were numerous reports and tips by fans asking that Drake be investigated in X’s murder as the two rappers had a tense beef in 2018.

Fans have also dug up an Instagram Story from XXXTentacion in which he says if he dies, Drake is responsible for it. The rapper died a month later, and his attorney focused his opening statement on the fact that the police had allegedly not done a thorough investigation and they had arrested the wrong person- Williams.

Drake is not the only rapper who has been referenced but the Migos, although no application to subpoena them was made.

In the meantime, Prosecutors have not mentioned Drake, whose real name is Aubrey Graham, in any way in the trial.

Padilla previously told the court that a deposition date was set two times before, but despite Drake being properly served, he failed to show up or acknowledge the summons.

Drizzy will need to sit for the deposition on February 24 or face consequences.

“If deponent Aubrey Drake Graham does not appear to deposition he must appear before this court on Monday February 27, 2023 at 10 a.m. EST at so [sic] the court can determine why he should not be held in contempt.”

In his motion to show cause, Padilla not only mentioned the Instagram Story, which said, “If anyone tries to kill me it was @champagnepapi [Drake’s Instagram handle]. I’m snitching rn,” but also concerns that the late rapper’s mother made to police when she gave a statement to police after his death.

In his filing, Padilla claims that Drake has gang affiliations and even had a man call into a public podcast to claim that he was Drake’s shooter.

Drake’s lyrics incessantly diss XXXTentacion even after his death was also referenced in the filing by the attorney. In one song, “BS,” on his latest joint 21 Savage album, Her Loss, the attorney claim that the lyrics, “I never put no prices on the beef until we end this sh*t/I pay half a million for his soul, he my nemesis,” is about XXXTentacion.

The filing also speaks to XXXTentacion claiming that Drake had stolen his cadence and style on a track “KMT” released before he was killed.

As for the prosecution, it has so far led evidence from a co-defendant turned state witness Robert Allen who claims that it was Williams’ idea to go out to rob people and while going to buy a mask, he saw the rapper’s car at Riva Motorsports and even pulled up his Instagram to confirm that the BMW i8 in the parking lot was the one X drove.

The witness further claimed that he even argued against robbing the rapper, given the CCTV footage at Riva motorsports easily identified them, but it was Williams who persuaded the other two to rob the rapper and came up with the elaborate plan to block the rapper from coming out of the only exit at the business place so they could ambush him. The witness identified Boatwright as the one who fired several shots at XXXTentacion, as seen on surveillance footage. The shots instantly killed X.

On Thursday, a deputy testified that the second alleged gunman, Newsome, had spotted Allen being taken to prison transport when he shouted after him that he was working with police and working with the white man in a way to intimidate him as a “snitch.”

Drake nor his attorneys have not publicly acknowledged the order.

J Prince Exposed Offset and Cardi B In Lengthy Post, Offset & Cardi Respond

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Urban Islandz

Cardi B attempted to clear the air on Wednesday afternoon hours after J Prince shaded Offset as “fake” and someone his family “hold their head down” when they speak of him.

J Prince has been on an extensive rant and press tour in the past few weeks as he speaks about Migos rapper, Takeoff’s death. The Rap-A-Lot CEO seems to have a bone to pick with Offset, whom he accused of saying things about him to others since his cousin died. It’s unclear what J Prince’s issue is, but his sons – J Prince Jr. and Jas Prince, have both received backlash as they hosted the dice game where Takeoff was killed.

Offset and Quavo have both been quiet since the rapper was killed, but J Prince, who has no relation to the Migos members, appears to be upset at Takeoff.

Days after Offset accused J Prince of playing “internet games” and capitalizing on Takeoff’s death in the media, J Prince went off on Offset again on Wednesday night as he claimed that Offset threatened him and his family.

“This clown Offset suffering from being a fake muthaf**** Disease. He wana play the victim now but he was a volunteer when he spoke threats about me and my family name in his mouth about what he gon do. Why you didn’t call me to talk is the twist he wants to use,” J Prince is heard speaking in a post on Instagram.

He continued, “tell lies to your woman n***ga, I don’t have time to listen to weak shit. Now you want to fake in front of a camera and trying to hide behind Takeoff mother when I have shown nothing but respect for her and family. See boy you acting like you a part of a family that don’t really fuck with you cause you a snake. Now you acting like you don’t know me from a can of paint, let me see if I can refresh your memory. Remember we talked when you got your ass whooped in Atlanta?”

In a caption, J Prince also wrote, “I’m glad I’m not one of those individuals that my family has to hold their head down when my name is mentioned,” as he urged that no matter what the media says or what people heard, “it’s cap.”

Offset has not responded, but Cardi B responded to chatter online. The “WAP” rapper liked a tweet where a fan wrote, “And why is J Prince discussing Takeoff family like he closer to them than Offset ever was?”

Cardi B also replied to a tweet from a follower who said she needed J Prince’s help to feel safe in LA.

“NEVER… tell him to show receipts… Only people that was there was Wack and Big U…why would he be calling for anything involving crips? Whole bunch of fairy tales,” Cardi B said.

“BIG LIES,” Cardi wrote in another tweet.

Days ago, J Prince had threatened Offset on the Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast.

“This Offset dude, I ain’t gon leave him out, you know I’m just real like this because you know, N***gas be throwing rocks and hiding their hands… For you to be taking these positions that you taking, you know what I mean? I got people everywhere, so I hear all kinds of things.”

He also threatened Offset to not put him in a position where he have to defend himself.

Offset has since responded to J Prince by calling him the police.

“Street Ni— turn never needed you for no smoke u da police all mouth with no proof just fairy tales let this be the last time we speak on this,” Offset tweeted.

Quality Control Music Sold To Scooter Braun’s HYBE America In $320 Million Deal

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Urban Islandz

Atlanta-based hip hop label Quality Control owned by CEO Pierre “Pee” Thomas and COO Kevin “Coach K” Lee, has been sold to South Korean multinational entertainment company HYBE America.

The sale is for a reported U$320 million dollars between and was brokered by music manager Scooter Braun who runs HYBE America. The news about the deal broke on Wednesday night, with the parties releasing a joint statement about the acquisition.

“QC is one of the most significant independent labels in the world,” Braun said in a Variety report. “They not only distribute music, but they also distribute culture. Their artists are the voices of their communities.”

Quality Control is home to artists like Migos, Lil Baby, Lil Yachty, City Girls, Icewear Vezzo, Bankroll Freddie, Lakeyah, Gloss Up, and others. The label itself owns Solid Foundation Management which had Cardi B as a previous client, but she revealed in 2020 that she was looking for new management following a dispute between QC and Migos.

The label also owns Quality Films and QC Sports and, under the HYBE deal, will continue to be affiliated with Universal Music Group and Motown..The label was co-founded by P Thomas and Coach K in 2013, and they both shared that the deal is expected to expand the label’s brand and reach abroad.

“P and I are ecstatic about this partnership with Scooter and HYBE and are confident they can get us to our global ambitions we’ve had in our scope since the beginning of our company as nothing means more than our artists impacting worldwide,” Coach K said.

It’s unclear what this means for the artists signed to QC, which means they are now on the same roster with megastars BTS.

Thomas seemed to hint that HYBE is unlikely to change the label given its contribution to black culture, which is synonymous with hip-hop culture.

“HYBE are perfect partners for Quality Control as we come together to take our story and work global. … Taking QC worldwide requires key partners like this who understand building something from the bottom and aiming sky high. It matters to us greatly their grasp of culture and acutely seeing what QC has built and the limitless path of where it can go. … The artists of QC are our focus and their best interests will be incredibly supported with this partnership,” he said.

Braun also added, “It’s important to me and my team that P and Coach continue to have the freedom, and now our global resources, to continue to do what they do best; facilitate and nurture great art and culture.”

Braun previously managed Taylor Swift, and he currently manages Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande.

In the meantime, many figures in hip hop celebrated the move, including Rich The Kid, Jamie Foxx, DJ Drama, Murda Beatz, and Rich Paul.
