Valiant gets into a reflective mood in his new music video “Bruk Days.”

The clip is the first music video since the start of the year for the young dancehall artist who had a meteoric rise in dancehall last year thanks to his melodic and edgy style that gave birth to a slew of hits in the last quarter of the year. Valiant is undoubtedly among the top dancehall artist to watch in 2023 as he is poised for a major international push.

The Kinggcam-directed cut saw the Spanish Town deejay sitting on the beach in the night, looking out at sea. With a spliff in hand, Valiant dons a white button-down shirt, khaki pants, a baseball cap, and a pair of black Wallabee Clarks. The deejay is also famous for wearing some of the most unique Clarks kicks in the game.

“You should a bad mind me inna me bruk days/ Mommy house upstairs/ Me know she nah complain/ Yeah complain/ I’m glad I’m a driver I’m still a survivor/ A wull heap a fight when you arise/ But a prayer’s a fight back yes/ There is pain in my eye/ I’m still reading my smile/ I know them yah heart dirty and it hurt me,” Valiant rhymes over a catchy beat produced by Sponge Music.

In another segment of the music video, Valiant associates delivered to him a Louis Vuitton bag full of cash, which he counted after enjoying some refreshments and hanging with his crew outside.

In an interview with Urban Islandz last year, Valiant shares his plans to grow his career and push dancehall internationally.

“Being a dancehall artist, I want to get dancehall music more recognized globally meaning on every chart and in every corner of the world. A lot [of] new artists inspire me to keep consistent and bring our new form of dancehall music called trap dancehall to the world at large,” the deejay told us.

Gucci Mane’s Wife Keyshia Ka’oir Shares Receipts He Paid Big Scarr’s Funeral Bill

Black Immigrant Daily News

Gucci Mane continues to experience fallout from Big Scarr’s family members who are labeling serious accusations against him.

Keyshia Ka’oir responded to the family of late artist Big Scarr who bashed him and claimed that he reneged on a promise to pay for the artist’s death and then asked back for the chains the artist received along with his signing bonus.

Big Scarr died on December 22, 2022, reportedly from an accidental prescription drug overdose. Over the weekend, his family accused his label 1017 Global Music’s boss, Gucci Mane, of reneging on a promise to assist with the funeral expenses and even asking back for the chains the rapper was given on his signing.

According to the brother of Big Scarr, the artist promised to pay for the funeral expenses, but Gucci Mane blocked the family.

“You dead wrong, when pops and them called you, you the one who told them folks you gon pay for the funeral. You told them you gon pay for everything. The minute them folk called you you blocked them. It’s not real, you lying straight. Come on now cuz,” the man said on Instagram Live.

Big Scarr

The relative added that the artist also asked back for the chains, but they will not be handing it over.

“You only trying to act all real. You posted Scarr talking about some loan he had bruh …You ain’t getting them chains. It aint no way you getting them chains. Come on now fool you tripping. You thought we gon let that go?”

He added, “Bro when they text you and asked you about the funeral, you told them folks that Keyshia birthday coming up…You ain’t even text and check on the family but you texted about some chains.”

The family has been insistent that they will not hand over the chains. At the time of his death, Big Scarr, whose real name is Alexander Woods, had been recovering from a gunshot injury he received in 2020, which resulted in a bullet connecting with his hip and traveling up his spinal cord.

The artist had to get hip surgery and an appendectomy to remove the bullet.

On Sunday, his sister Alexandra Woods shared a photo of her wearing the rapper’s chains.

“Get it back in blood!! My brother earned TS #LLstank,” she wrote on Instagram, posing with the chains on her neck.

Meanwhile, Keyshia Ka’oir on Monday shared a receipt for $10,000 that was sent to a funeral home – N.J Ford & Sons Funeral on December 30.

“Payment directly to funeral home! Leave my husband alone!” she wrote on Instagram Stories.

“He did this out of the goodness of his heart!” she said, adding that Gucci had even sent flowers to the family but “not even a thank U.”

The family has not responded to Keyshia’s funeral receipt as yet.

Boosie Badazz also shared on Instagram in November 2020 that he had been out of Insulin and asked fans if they could help. It seemed that some good Samaritans did come to his aid after all. “I ain know, I was drugging and thugging man. I was sipping and slurping XPL, Codeine, PCP… tearing my body up,” he revealed.

It’s unclear the type of diabetes Boosie has, but the rapper received advice and words of comfort from fans.

Prince Harry Reveals Shenseea’s Music Helped Him Through Family Strain

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Urban Islandz

Prince Harry is a huge fan of Shenseea music.

Prince Harry has revealed that he is a ShenYeng as he disclosed in his tell-all book that the Jamaican artist’s music helped him through some of his darker days while fighting to extricate himself from the monarchy. The Duke of Sussex has released his book Spare, and he is not sparing any detail as he gets real and raw about his life, including his relationship with American actress and his wife Meghan Markle and the monarchy’s reception of her.

Harry has been making headlines on Thursday as fans, and the media go through the book and come across some of the more scandalous stories he had to share. One of these stories includes how his brother, the elder Prince William assaulted him after an argument.

According to a British tabloid, there is a story in the book which explains the strained relationship between Harry and his brother, as was evident in their interaction at their late grandmother’s funeral last year. The publication said in 2019, Prince William attacked him after they argued over his black wife, Meghan. At the time, William called Meghan “difficult,” “rude,” and “abrasive,” which led to Harry and him arguing.

Shenseea

The Duke and the future British King then grabbed him by his collar, causing his necklace to rip, and threw him to the floor. The fall caused him to break a dog bowl, causing him to suffer scrapes and bruises.

In the meantime, while Harry seems to have gone through some harrowing tales, the 38-year-old father of two also shared how music from artist Shenseea helped him to cope.

According to a Twitter user, the artist said he related to lyrics from Shenseea’s songs to help him deal with exiting the royal family and beginning a new life in California with his wife.

“In the times I felt alone and separated from my family, I always took time to myself to sit back and listen to Shenseea. Her lyrics resonated with me and got me through a lot,” the Duke reportedly said.

In the meantime, Shenseea also seemed pleased that Harry was into her music and even suggested that her song “Rebel,” which asserts that nobody can tell her what to do, suited Harry.

“I know Rebel is his song! That intro is it,” She wrote.

The book will come out on January 10, and William nor Kensington Palace has not responded to the allegations by Prince Harry. The Duke and his wife made bombshell allegations last year in an Oprah interview which insinuated that their departure from the British monarchy may have been because of the racism Meghan felt from within the palace and from British media.

Bounty Killer Claps Back At Shabba Ranks “Put Respect Pon Mi” Name

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Urban Islandz

Bounty Killer and Shabba Ranks trade jabs at each other after some recent comments about the lyrical content of young artists in the dancehall space.

Shabba Ranks has gotten on the bad side of Bounty Killer, who unleashed a barrage of insults at him for apparently shading the Warlord, who recently chided younger artists for “dunce” music and lyrics. Both artists, who are legends in dancehall, recently performed at the Jamrock Cruise, but it seems that something Bounty said set Shabba off.

While performing, Bounty Killer reportedly called out artists who were focusing on “dunceness” in music, warning that Jamaica was too influential in promoting unintelligence.

“Ah we a di strongest culture inna di worl’—wah likkke dot pon di map and everybody waan seh ‘bomboclxxt!’…weh a gwaan a bare dunceness, dats why some bwoy ah come sing some dutty, nasty foolishness,” he had said. “People haffi excellent and educated and smart. Boy seh if yuh waan hide tings from black people, put it in a book. Dat mean seh bwoy a celebrate seh they made us illiterate and dunce.”

Shabba Ranks later appeared to address the comments in an On Stage interview, telling Bounty to leave young artists alone.

“Mi hear some big man inna music now, weh every turn dem turn dem beat against di likkle yute dem,” Shabba said while telling elders in the Jamaican music space to allow younger artists to create their own style of music. “Give di yute dem a chance wid dem music. Di yute dem nuh haffi do di music like how we do di music.”

It seems that his statement touched a nerve with Bounty Killer despite not being named by Shabba. On Tuesday, Bounty Killer went on an extensive rant as he called Shabba an “old, lame, run away, back in di days guy.”

On Instagram, he spoke about his 30 years in the entertainment business and his career transforming while Shabba “ran away” from Jamaica.

“Di Gaadzilla, di messiah, di architect. Mi reinvent dis twice time 1992 and 2002 from Scare Dem to Alliance, so no little old lame run away back in di days guy cyaah size up one General. Nuh NPT (no p****y test) else a funeral. Dun chat to a dunce bat. Marshall and General 2002 St Bess 20yrs later and who’s greater,” he shared of himself and Wayne Marshall’s first performance years ago in St. Elizabeth.

Bounty Killer also recognized some dancehall veterans, but not surprisingly, Shabba Ranks was not named on his list.

“Take out unuh note pads Learn and adapt the formula. Ninjaman, Tiger, Professor Nuts, Papa San, to name a few: dem make stage show in Jamaica and mi revolutionize it. Is which show some p***y tek bout ya? Where and when? Post the clips them then mek we see. I never left this for 3 months since mi buss 92 mi carry this pon mi back NPT”, he said in another post.

In another post, he wrote, “Put bloodcl**t respect pon mi 30yrs of consecutive contributions and development to this culture and genre Sir Gaadzilla that’s the term the stalwart the pioneer, the innovator the inventor the general the coach the architech should I continue,” he wrote in reference to him deejaying at Reggae Sunsplash in the 1990s.

Meanwhile, Bounty Killer made it clear who he was speaking to as he responded to a fan that mentioned Jahshii’s infamous Entertainment Report interview, where he said artists like Shabba don’t help upcoming artists.

“Ask Jahshii. For one he will tell u exactly how the youths felt about some elders,” Bounty replied to the comment.
