Tekashi 6ix9ine Not Happy About Court Ordered Protection From Girlfriend

Black Immigrant Daily News

6ix9ine says he doesn’t need a court to protect him from his girlfriend who recently put the paws on him.

Tekashi 6ix9ine’s girlfriend has been ordered by a court to stay away from the rapper after her domestic violence arrest last week in which she allegedly battered the “Trollz” rapper at a Miami nightclub. Jade and Tekashi have been together for more than four years, but it seems that their relationship has broken down. Despite the arrest and charge, Tekashi doesn’t seem keen on having her suffer consequences, TMZ reported.

6ix9ine’s girlfriend has been issued an extensive protective order to keep no contact with the rapper. This includes not only all forms of remote contact, such as phone calls, texts, letters, and social media but also physical contact. Jade must also stay at least 500 feet away from the Brooklyn rapper.

It doesn’t seem that Tekashi or Jade will follow the order. The rapper stated that their relationship is doing well, meaning that they are still together despite the incident. He recently went on Instagram Live and tell fans that they are in a good place with their relationship but admitted that he found himself in a dark place frequently, so he is taking a break.

The rapper also says he is allowing Jade and her child to remain in residence at his house in Florida until they take care of the legal issues. 6ix9ine, on the other hand, will stay in a hotel until that is sorted out, but he does indicate that there is a possibility that he will move back into the home with her and her child.

Last month Jade was arrested for throwing hands at 6ix9ine. At the time, the rapper said that her friends had encouraged her to fight with him. Part of the altercation was also videoed and shared online.

Despite Jade being the aggressor, 6ix9ine had said that he was going to pay her bond so she could be released from bail. At the time, she was placed on a $1500 bond.

Quentin Miller Says Nicki Minaj Behind Meek Mill Attacking Him Over Drake Beef

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Urban Islandz

Quentin Miller has been missing in action from the scene for a bit now, but he’s back, and the rapper is talking about some of the moments in his career, including the famous fight he had with Meek Mill.

Quentin Miller is close to Drake, but he somehow got wound up in a feud with Meek Mill in 2015, who claimed that he was Drake’s ghostwriter. At the time, Nicki Minaj was in a relationship with Meek Mill, and it seems that she had taken Meek’s side on things.

In a new interview, Quentin Miller claims Nicki instigated Meek and his Dreamchasers crew to beat him up and extract a video confession.

Nowadays, Nicki and Drake are great buddies, but it seems that while everyone is celebrating the latest Michael Jackson Video Vanguard recipient, at least Quentin recalls Minaj’s past behavior that many might have forgotten.

Drake and Nicki Minaj recently appeared together on the Young Money Reunion tour, where they performed alongside each other, and they even shared some lens time where they appeared to be at a great place with their friendship.

In a recent interview on Rory & Mal’s podcast, the artist and songwriter say that Meek Mill had cornered him when they fought, and everything appeared fine after they spoke.

“The man [Meek] said ‘get on camera and say you was lying, you wrote that sh*t’, and I said ‘nah’, you know what I’m saying,” he began.

“So with that situation, it’s so crazy bro, that day it was insane, so I’m about to go to HitBoy’s house but before I go I’m about to stop at the Nike store. I go to the Nike Store it was on Wiltshire at the time, I get out the Uber, Paparazzi is across the street, it’s just a bunch of paparazzi. I’m like ‘oh sh*t who is it’, me and Meek lock eyes. I just turned. I just go in the store. As I turn I saw one of them like [waving like yow yow] they come into the store… ‘aye yo what’s up man’ he says, ‘all this sh*t like you making me looking me look crazy whatever, and I’m like ‘bruh’…he’s like ‘I could tell you ain’t on no street sh*t. So I ain’t gon do nothing’ So I’m like, ‘Iight.’ so he just left and did a quick turnaround,” he said.

The Atlanta artist, however, says when he thought things were over, Meek’s crew again accosted him with a camera to force a confession out of him to aid the then love of her life, Meek Mill, in his beef with Drake.

“He dips so I’m thinking we good and um, and then his mans came back in with the camera. I found out and I don’t know how true this is but I found out that it was a Nicki Minaj call,” he says.

While he says he can’t prove the claim, he was told that she was the one who came out with the camera idea.

“When Meek evaluated you not a street dude, you not on that street sh*t and they dipped, I heard when they went back to the car, it was Nicki who was like ‘nah run that’, listen bruh, I’m a Nicki fan, I’ve always been a Nicki fan, my daughter is a Nicki fan, but that was fucked up, man,” he added.

When asked if he knew for sure that it was Nicki Minaj who was behind them accosting him to confess on camera, the artist said he never even knew Minaj or had ever spoken to her.

“I hope that wasn’t the case if that was the case, but either way I put it on me but still finding that out that hurt because I never even had a conversation with this lady so why she like that?”

Back in 2015, Drake had responded to Meek Mill’s claim with two heavy diss tracks- “Back to Back” and “Charged.”

The rappers later quit the beef around 2018 after Meek and Nicki Minaj broke up (around 2017) as she alleged that he was abusive and once kicked her.

As for her and Drake, the two were not on good terms for quite a bit, also around 2018.

As Drake became friends with Minaj’s latest enemy Meek, he also allowed Cardi B to perform twice at OVO Fest, which seemed to have led to tensions between the two rappers. Many felt that Drake was being petty at Minaj.

While Minaj and Cardi B are still not on good terms, she and Drake seem to be chummy again.

As for Minaj, she has not responded to Miller’s interview. But in an interview with Zane Lowe in 2018, Minaj claims that she played the role of peacemaker behind the scenes of the beef.

She called the beef “one of the hardest parts of my career” and said she tried to convince Meek to leave it alone, but she was nevertheless involved inevitably.

“I was behind the scenes, wishing it wouldn’t happen,” she explained. “I said, ‘Don’t do that.’ I think, as artists, we all look back on things that we shouldn’t have done. And that was one of those things he shouldn’t have done. But he did it, and it is what it is. What I do know is that Meek and Drake have moved on from that,” she said.

Elephant Man Addresses Rumors He Punched Diddy In The Face

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Urban Islandz

Elephant Man is speaking on rumors for the first time that he had an altercation with Diddy back in 2007 when he allegedly punched the Bad Boy rap mogul in the face.

The dancehall legend recently sat down with The Fix, where he spoke about his career in dancehall business for more than 20 years, having started as a member of the Scare Dem Crew before going solo. One of the highlights from the interview is the infamous incident that was reported in 2007, which claimed that Elephant Man and Puff Daddy, now known as Diddy or Love, got into an argument that became physical.

The “Pon Di River” artist is speaking publicly about that incident which he denies. “Yeah, one album deal, yeah when them a talk bout me and Puffy fight and me thump down the poor- me? Weh mi ago thump down puffy fah? When me desso a take dancehall to a level and me just a work and me just a do weh me want do?”

According to Elephant Man, he had a good relationship with Diddy, who signed him to his New York-based label Bad Boy Records, which led to his debut album ‘Let’s Get Physical’ released on 6 November 2007. The first single on the album is “Five-O” and features Wyclef Jean and Diddy. The album was later Grammy-nominated and was also the first Grammy nomination for Diddy at the time, Elephant man says.

According to the Jamaican ‘Energy Gad’, Diddy had sought him out after hearing about his reputation as an artist. Back then, Elephant Man’s stage presence was unrivaled due to his dancing-type songs.

“Me, Sean Paul and Junior Gong deh backstage at 97 Reggae [with] Kiprich. When me look me see Puffy and Chris Tucker weh come in the Karate show…two a dem come in and say ‘I’m here for you’. Me say: ‘yea man yah watch the show, ah the baddest show’. [Diddy says] ‘eh eh I’m here for you’…weh the man say? ‘Mi come fi sign you’” he says.

In 2007, rumors started circulating that Elephant Man and his entourage barged into Bad Boy Records headquarters and roughed up Diddy over money owed to the deejay. Some reports say that Diddy was seen with his glasses bent up and had a busted lip while Elephant Man was cursing and swearing about wanting his money from Diddy.

Diddy spoke on the rumors in 2007 while speaking with MTV off the track, saying that he and Elephant Man are good and his house is in good order.

Elsewhere in his interview, Elephant also gave some artists their flowers while sharing some of his experiences meeting Janet Jackson and Chris Brown as well as working with artists like Rihanna.

According to him, he and Chris Brown collaborated on six songs, but the respect he has earned did not stop there as Roc Nation’s Jay-Z himself sent for him to help give Rihanna her big break.

“Memba a me say memba good memba a me dem sen fi buss Rihanna,” Elephant Man said. “When Rihanna do back ‘Pon Di Riva’, ‘run run run run everybody gi dem a run’, and Jay-Z said ‘Ele we need you’… and then me and her do Umbrella Remix again, my second number one in Africa.”

Elephant Man also touched on how the song “Switch” by Will Smith came to life as his career took off as a Jamaican artist to now a mainstream artist in the United States.

“I was like me a board the airplane and dem hold on pan mi ticket and say ‘you can’t go’. You see da private jet deh, Will Smith inna it and him say you fi fawud now. Boom, me, him and Jada [Pinkett-Smith],” he said.

“When me go inna the jet, Jada go ‘Oh! Ele, mi favorite artist’, me say ‘woah’ so the work a put in and dem a see it,” he added.

Elephant Man on how Ninjaman and Super Cat influence his career

He also touched on the state of music nowadays, which he says, in his opinion, many fail to pay respects to the others in the genre. Elephant recalled many of his experiences with other artists who were simultaneously working to make dancehall into a big genre across the world. He shared respect for Ninjaman, Super Cat, and others, something he says is absent from the younger artists nowadays.

“When we now ago tell you say Ninjaman is my Gad in music, Shabba Ranks is my Gad in music, Super Cat dem, Buju, Killer dem, how can I not tell them?… Nowadays, nuh respect nuh too deh inna the thing. A man would even respect you and nuh even tell you,” he said.

“When last you see an artist post another artist? A bare war and so,” Elephant Man said.

Elephant Man had much to say about the latest viral type of music most artists chase as he spoke about the longevity of his songs like “Gully Creeper,” which still has the same effect on people almost 15 years since it was released.

“Sometimes some music affi (sic) some place, everybody just a do dem own thing. And it’s good to be commercial but it good to still make some music weh make sense and we still have to remember there is Hot 97 and there is a playlist and still member say we need songs to cross and we want go fi some Billboard and some things,” Elephant Man added.

Black Immigrant Daily News

Bounty Killer says one of his biggest dancehall classic anthems “Book Book Book” was inspired by his personal story after dropping out of school at an early age.

As hundreds of students returned to school today, September 5, in Jamaica, the ever-popular 90s track by Bounty Killer, “Book Book Book,” has again come into focus. The track, which was geared towards encouraging young people to take their studies seriously, still remains a sort of anthem for back-to-school.

Even Bounty himself has confessed that the song has a special place in his heart, especially since he had a somewhat volatile relationship with schools. He made the confession while speaking with The Star.

He shared that he dropped out of school at an early age, and later on in his life; he realized that education was the key to getting out of poverty. That’s why he didn’t hesitate to give his fans a song that shared the message of applying yourself to studies.

The “Look Into My Eyes” deejay also shared that he dropped out of school at just grade nine. He attended Edith Dalton James High School. The track was dropped back in 1997 and was off of his Ghetto Gramma album. There is no shortage of inspirational lyrics as it pertains to education.

He also shared that over the years, many fans have reached out to him to thank him personally for dropping such a positive track. Bounty, whose real name is Rodney Price, said that many of those fans who reached out to him also let him know that his words were inspirational on their path through education.

Dancehall Artist Silk Boss Named Person Of Interest By Police

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Urban Islandz

St. Catherine South Police has named dancehall artist Silk Boss as a person of interest. This comes days after police invited dancehall artiste Silk Boss to make a formal report about his assault.

Silk Boss, whose real name is Rohan Reid, is being asked to report to the Portmore Criminal Investigations Branch by midday on Monday. The Jamaica Constabulary Force released a message on their Twitter account stating he was a person of interest but not offering any other details about him.

“Anyone knowing his whereabouts is asked to contact the Portmore Police at 876-989-8422, police 119 emergency number or the nearest police station,” the message ended.

The police request stems from the artist being assaulted by masked men in a video that was shared online. The artist has since done several rounds of interviews where he said that he was set up by a friend who made the Gulf Man gang members assault him and his girlfriend Brii last month and threatened to kill him.

The artist said that the men robbed him of $1.4 million cash that he was going to use to purchase a new BMW motorcar. He also said that the men who were seen in a recent music video were the ones who attacked him. He did not report the crime to the police, and in an interview with his ex-manager Terro Don, the Montego Bay artist said that the video was released to “tarnish” his name and destroy his career as the men were envious of the lifestyle he and his girlfriend (who is also his manager) lived. He cited specific details about his trips abroad to Canada and elsewhere and said his former friends were jealous and hateful that they couldn’t live the lavish lifestyle he and Brii enjoyed, and they wanted to be taken on trips with him.

In the meantime, Silk Boss continues to speak out about the incident. On Sunday, he released a new track, “Sorry,” that spoke about the assault.

The song has more than 500K views and is now the No. 1 on Trending in Jamaica.

“People nuh genuine, None ah dem nuh real, dem only come round fi de benefits, When dem nuh get it, dem eyes red like seh a red herring, Mi siddung inna di bush by myself a pree many tings, Mi owna friend go set me up and mek dem tek mi things,” the artist says.

Silk Boss Urged To Talk To Cops After Being Slapped By Gang Members

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Urban Islandz

The Jamaica Constabulary Police wants rising dancehall artist Silk Boss to report to the Portmore Police.

Silk Boss confirmed this week that he was set up by friends and was robbed of $1.4 million that he was saving to buy a BMW car. The video showed the artist being slapped up by two men wearing Balaclava face masks. A red-faced Silk Boss can be heard pleading with the men.

In an interview with his former manager, Silk Boss had said that the men were from the Gulf Man gang in St. Catherine. He added that his pregnant baby mother was also pushed down and that the men had threatened to shoot him all while they boxed him about the face and head.

Since the incident, which surfaced via a video this week, Silk Boss has done several interviews where he confirmed that the incident occurred last month. While many of his fans have expressed concern for his safety, the artist has continued to speak on the beating and another incident where he was summoned by a reported criminal- an area Don, to perform at an event in St. Catherine where his girlfriend’s mother is from.

The artist has not said if he has reported the incident to the police, but it seems now that the police have taken interest in the statements by the artist and are calling on him to report the matter to the police.

The Jamaica Gleaner reported on Friday night that Portmore police are “appealing” to the dancehall to speak with investigators who are probing the assault.

The police said they have become aware of the video of the assault and the subsequent statements by Silk Boss, which are all cause for concern.

Silk Boss is asked to report to Portmore Police via the Braeton Parkway station in Portmore, St Catherine. Some fans are also urging the dancehall artiste to report the matter to police since his life might be in danger.
