NBA YoungBoy Drops ‘The Last Slimeto’, Celebrates 100 Platinum & Gold Certifications

NBA YoungBoy drops his new album The Last Slimeto as he celebrates over 100 platinum and gold certifications at the young age of 22.

YoungBoy Never Broke Again is celebrating another milestone as he earned 100 top certified titles from the Recording Industry Association of America. The Baton Rouge rapper’s feat also comes at the young age of 22 years old despite the fact that he has been in rap music since he was 16 years old and enjoys immense success as the second most streamed hip-hop artist after Drake.

On Thursday, the RIAA announced that the new achievement covered gold and platinum titles, dozens of which are singles, and about half of a dozen are albums multiple times certified.

“Congratulations to #YoungBoyNeverBrokeAgain and his @AtlanticRecords & @neverbrokeagain teams on separate #RIAATopCertified titles,” the RIAA wrote on Twitter.

The rapper’s latest accomplishment notably covers his singles and albums, where he is the lead artist.

Ahead of his album, The Last Slimeto, dropping today August 5th, NBA YoungBoy is also racking up more streams with his existing music. According to Chart Data on Thursday, YB’s “Outside Today” was certified 4x Platinum in the United States.

It’s the latest in a string of upward movements in the Louisiana rapper’s career, which includes him falling in third place with 2.4 million among the best-selling artists by album units this year in the United States. Ahead of him is Taylor Swift at number two with 3.1 m and Drake at the top with 3.9 m.

NBA YoungBoy is ahead of artists like The Weeknd and Kanye West on the same list, but he does not appear on the global streamed artist list.

In the meantime, YoungBoy has more RIAA certifications than artists like Future and J.Cole, and his latest album is expected to tip his achievements towards an unbeaten record.

As for his latest album, it is the final in his current deal with Atlantic, which the rapper has been beefing with for months. Previously the rapper had told Akademiks that he rejected a $25 million deal with Atlantic to re-sign a new deal because he wanted $100 million.

The Last Slimeto cover

Earlier in the year, the rapper had shared that the label was unsupportive as he lashed out at them.

“Everything y’all post, Atlantic try to make it seem like I’m talking about them so they can try to sue me once the time’s up,” he had said in a voice note shared on Akademiks’ Instagram. “Man, tell them people suck my dick. Leave me alone, bitch. Ain’t nobody talking about y’all. I hate y’all bitches. I hate y’all more than y’all hate me. Leave me alone.”

However, things seemed to have taken a different turn weeks ago as the rapper shared this week that he signed a new deal with Atlantic for $60 million.

The eye-watering amount has led to rappers like Kodak Black calling for a re-negotiation of his deal with the label.

YoungBoy’s new album, The Last Slimeto, features guest appearances from Kehlani, Rod Wave, and Quavo. The project packs a whopping 30 songs and debut at No. 1 on iTunes.

Ne-Yo Had Outside Child Says Wife Crystal Smith Who Files For Divorce

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Urban Islandz

Crystal Smith is not here for the reconciliation as she filed for divorce from R&B singer Ne-Yo alleging that he cheated on her and fathered a child with another woman during their marriage. The couple renewed their vows this year after being separated for two years.

According to TMZ, the divorce petition was filed on August 1, a day after, Smith said that Ne-Yo was in the streets with many women, including prostitutes, and that he paid for unprotected sex during their 6-year marriage.

Crystal Smith says the couple got married on February 20, 2016, but they have been separated on or about July 22, 2022, and “since that date have continuously lived in a bona fide state of separation.”

The couple also shares three small children, Shaffer Smith Jr., Roman Smith, and baby Isabella Smith, who was born last year.

Smith says in her petition that she “is entitled to a divorce from [Ne-Yo] upon the ground that the marriage is irretrievably broken with no hope for reconciliation.”

She added that the singer has also committed the “act of adultery” and recently fathered a child with another woman. She did not reveal more details about the outside child. Crystal Smith wants temporary and permanent alimony from Ne-Yo. She says that at present, she has joint legal custody of the children with Ne-Yo, but she wants the court to grant her primary physical custody of the children along with child support for the three of them.

In her affidavit, Smith revealed that she has remained unemployed throughout the course of the marriage with Ne-Yo because they had agreed that she will be a housewife and raise the children. She added that the singer also earns a “significant self-employment income” as a singer, songwriter, and producer.

“[Crystal] requests that [Ne-Yo] be solely responsible for any and all debts and obligations independently acquired by [Ne-Yo] and that [Ne-Yo] hold [Crystal] harmless for any such debts or obligations,” the petition also reads.

Crystal Smith Instagram

In the meantime, Smith is asking the court for an “equitable division” of their marital home, a mansion in Los Angeles, and for him to cover her legal fees that round off to $25,000.

“Due to the disparity in income, [Crystal] moves the Court for an award of attorney fees on account in the amount of $25,000 as temporary attorney’s fees and expenses of litigation so that [Crystal] may pursue her claims for divorce with the opportunity to be effectively represented by counsel and properly protect her interests,” the filing read.

Ne-Yo has not filed an answer to the divorce petition. The singer was criticized on July 31 by Smith, who accused him of cheating and leading a double life.

“8 years of lies and deception. 8 years of unknowingly sharing my life and husband with numerous of women who sell their bodies to him unprotected,” she wrote on Instagram while labeling him a narcissist.

Ne-Yo had also responded later that day with a statement on Twitter asking for privacy.

“For the sake of our children, my family and I will work through our challenges behind closed doors. Personal matters are not meant to be addressed and dissected in public forums. I simply ask that you please respect me and my family’s privacy at this time,” he said.

The couple has been having problems for the past two years when they separated, but during that time, they had a baby and even renewed their vows this year, signaling that their marital problems were over. The divorce is, however, not a shock to many, given Smith’s claims last week and some blogs dishing “tea” on the artist that supports his estranged wife’s claims.

Boosie, 50 Cent & Meek Mill Reacts To Brittney Griner Prison Sentence In Russia

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Urban Islandz

Boosie Badazz, 50 Cent, Meek Mill and more reacts to Brittney Griner’s prison sentence in Russia for drug conviction.

Brittney Griner was sentenced to close to 10 years in prison after she was found guilty of drug possession and drug smuggling with criminal intent on Thursday in a Russian court. The WNBA star was also fined 1 million rubles or $16,300 U.S. dollars along with the sentence in what has been a high-profile pull and tug by the Russian and American governments.

According to Russian prosecutors, Griner had less than a gram of cannabis oil and a vape pen in her luggage when she was arrested by Russian police in February, ABC News reported.

The Biden Administration has called on the Russian government to release Griner, and it has also negotiated a swap of prisoners by offering to release a Russian man accused of plotting to kill Americans and selling arms to Colombia. However, these have not been heeded.

On Thursday, after the sentencing, many Hip Hop community members reacted to Griner’s sentence, which they called harsh.

Among those reacting were several celebrities, including Boosie Badazz and 50 Cent. In an Instagram video, Boosie says that the government did not do enough to get Griner home because she is a black woman.

“How the hell that girl get nine years for a weed pen? And the USA ain’t doing nothing about it, you tell me that. If that was Taylor Swift it would be a peace treaty right now. They would be drafting to go to war, for a weed pen, nine years,” the Louisiana rapper said.

The rapper also called out Vice President Kamala Harris for not speaking up.

“What that shows for black women in the United States, and the Vice President, for a black woman, you supposed to be on the frontline, you supposed to be on the frontline to get that woman out of jail.”

50 Cent also reacted as he said the basketball athlete is caught in geopolitics between the two countries.

“This is wild, smh you don’t ever want to get caught up in the politics,” 50 Cent wrote on Instagram. “They are gonna tell her like 10 years for a vape pin watch.”

Radio Host Angie Martinez also reacted to the sentence as she called on the U.S government to intervene to help Griner.

“BRING HER HOME,” Martinez wrote on Instagram. “9 years for oil in a vape pen?! this poor woman is a political pawn and it’s disgusting and f**kin infuriating!”

Meek Mill also tweeted a message, “Free BG … let’s fight for her!!!!!!!”

In the meantime, Chuck D also warned against breaking the rules in foreign countries like Russia, which has anti-American sentiment.

“I’ve taken hundreds of artists personnel across the earth …number 1 message dont Fcuk with these govts on any sht,” he said. “BG has been used & abused dangled by D-evils. Here NRA & image gangsters must know that the killing machines of War ain’t a movie. While all can only sit watch pray,” he added.

Brittney’s wife, Cherelle Griner, has not reacted to her sentence as yet. Last month, she revealed that she had spoken to President Biden about helping to get Griner safely back to America.

Cardi B Denies Involvement In Nicki Minaj ‘Fake Assistant’ Drama

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Urban Islandz

Cardi B is denying that she had anything to do with the recent drama surrounding Nicki Minaj after a troll account reportedly claimed to be her ex-assistant and was dishing dirt on the rapper.

The account popped up days ago on Instagram under the name of a label executive and using the photo of a Business Insider journalist while sharing several allegations about Minaj and her husband and also sharing information about the rapper’s life.

Nicki Minaj, who had addressed the troll account, claimed that it was an attempt by another fan base to execute their plan to take her down. While she did not call names, it is widely known that she and Bronx rapper Cardi B do not particularly enjoy a relationship due to their past rivalry. Fans have also continued the drama as they find ways to compare and pit the rappers against each other and this latest incident with Nicki say the Barbz throwing shots at Bardi gang fans.

Cardi B denied that she had anything to do with it as she defended herself, noting that she was asked by bloggers for input on the “tea.” She said all of it is false as the troll account also made allegations that Minaj was recorded speaking ill of Cardi’s children.

In a rare moment, Cardi says she did not believe the account and called the claims lies.

“A lot of things I’m seeing is ppl be saying oh you be discussing this, this and that with Arman. No,” Cardi B began.

“A lot of blogs hit me up asking me about that bs that was going on two days ago and I told everybody, no, that is not true, there was lies talking bout ‘oh Mike Will Made it told you this and that and said this about your kid’, no. That is not true, that is not true. ‘Have you reached out this and that’- no. it’s not true, I think it’s false, I think it’s a troll. And that what I told Arman and what I told everybody else,” Cardi B said.

The rapper added that she responded to questions from blogs because she is tired of having false assumptions made about her.

“I’m not discussing everybody, I’m telling ppl no this sh*t is a lie, because guess what if I don’t respond to people they are gonna assume that it’s real and then they are gonna run with it. I don’t lie on people and I’m not gonna let the narrative go that is true. What’s wrong with me saying it’s a lie it’s not true,” she asked.

Cardi also called out those who only wanted to see strife had she entertained the claims by the troll account and lashed out at Minaj.

“Y’all would have loved it if I entertained it… ‘yes it’s true’… but that’s not true, I told people it’s false, that’s a troll, that’s a troll account and that’s how I left it, nice clean and there. And Arman wasn’t the only one that reached out. A lot of blogs DM me and a lot of blogs hit my publicist and we denied all of it and we said it was a lie. thank you, carry on,” the rapper ended.

Nicki Minaj, in the meantime, has been promoting her music, while Cardi B recently dropped her track “Hot Sh*t” with Kanye West and is reportedly working on her album to be released this year.

Gucci Mane Admits Dissing Dead Rappers Is A Bad Trend He Started

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Urban Islandz

Gucci Mane says he started the ‘dissing dead rappers’ trend and now wants it to stop.

Fans are not here for Gucci Mane’s latest song, “Dissin the dead,” where he calls on rappers to stop mentioning those who have passed away. Dissin’ the dead has become a sensitive issue in hip hop as it has not only led to many families hurting but to reprisals as well.

While Gucci Mane himself has been guilty of the crime of Dissin’ dead rappers, particularly the late Pookie Loc, the rapper appears to show maturity as he raps that other persons should also stop disrespecting those who have passed on.

The music video for “Dissin the Dead” was produced by ATL Jacob, TM88, TooDope, and Akachi, and in it Gucci Man fesses up.

“I know I should be more careful with the sh**t that I said,” Gucci raps. “I feel like I started a trend, they never gon’ stop/They gon’ keep dissin’ the dead.”

Meanwhile, fans roasted Gucci Mane for being a hypocrite as he has been unapologetic about rapping about Pookie Loc, an artist signed to Jeezy whom he had shot and killed 16 years ago. Gucci Mane claimed that he killed the artist in self-defense.

He even recently referenced Pookie Loc in his collaboration with Lil Durk on “Rumors.”

“D.A. dropped my murder, didn’t have evidence to prove it/I think my house is haunted, yeah, by who? The ghost of Pookie,” he had said in the track.

“Gucci Mane is STILL making songs about Pookie Loc but he won’t ever tell what he did to Jeezy to make him send those people after him…FYI: Nobody sends THAT kind of heat your way just because they don’t like you… Let it GOOOO before you open up another can of worms!!” one fan wrote on Twitter in response.

“Gucci mane using his veteran rap status to end the trend of rappers dissing the dead in their lyrics. Lmao didn’t he diss the late POOKIE LOC last year? Talmbout “put his ass in the dirt!!” another person wrote.

“How Gucci Mane calling for rappers to stop dissing the dead when jus a few months ago he was on Verzuz talkin about “we smokin on POOKIE Loc tonight,” another added.

Fivio Foreign Previews Remake Of Mase ‘What You Want’ As Feud Escalates

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Urban Islandz

Fivio Foreign threatens to release a remake of Mase’s classic “What You Want” as their feud escalates beyond a bad record deal.

After putting out the disgraceful contract he received from Mase, the Brooklyn drill rapper is back again to troll the former Bad Boy artist with a sample of his own song. On Thursday night Fivio Foreign shared a snippet of a new record which sounds like a sample of one of Mase’s biggest records.

The video shared by Fivio showed him in the studio while a voluptuous woman was licking his forehead while the song played in the background. Many fans reacted on social media as Fivio tagged Mase on his Instagram account with the song sample of his “What You Want” track featuring Total from his debut album Harlem World.

The album was and is still one of the biggest projects released by Diddy’s Bad Boy Label and features some much-loved songs like “Feels So Good,” “24 Hours To Live,” and “Will They Die 4 U?”

“What you want from me ?,” the “Big Drip” rapper wrote on the post.

It seems that Fivio is getting petty after Mase lied about how he helped Fivio and the exact sum of money that was given to him.

Fivio Foreign had revealed this week that the former Bad Boy rapper had him locked into an unconscionable contract that paid him an advance of $5,000. While it sounded like Fivio was joking, the rapper eventually shared the contract, which showed that Mase would also be getting a significant portion of his royalties and other income from his music.

Fivio hit out at Mase after the former Bad Boy rapper did an interview on Million Dollaz Work of Game podcast where he alleged that he gave Ma$e $5,000 initially through his RichFish Records label, and then he gave him $750,000.

When questioned about the money, Mase, however, said that he helped Fivio to negotiate a deal with a bigger label, but out of the money, he took $800,000 of the money and gave him $$750,000.

While Fivio Foreign has been cool about the entire thing with Mase this is the first time he is seriously speaking about the deal with Ma$e. The rapper had said in a previous interview that the man who helped him get the deal even ran off with the money.

In the meantime, Fivio seems to have more to say about the deal and Ma$e as he shared a tweet hinting that he might be seeing N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN on Drink Champs.

“I mite have to do Drink Champs,” Fivio tweeted alongside a thinking emoji.

Despite the controversy, Fivio Foreign has not taken any steps to end the contract with Mase, having said in the past that he is in control of his money and doesn’t bother with the contract with the veteran rapper.

The rapper’s contract is not unlike others that exist in the industry, particularly in hip hop for cases like Megan Thee Stallion and even Mase, who has alleged that his own label boss Diddy gave him a raw deal by signing him for little and nothing and keeping his masters while refusing to sell them or hand them over.

Many hip-hop fans have criticized Mase for, in essence, doing what Diddy did to him. Mase has not helped the situation as he referred to himself as “Diddy 2.0” as he took shots at Diddy.

Popcaan Denies Visiting Donna-Lee Donaldson’s Accused Killer In Jail

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Urban Islandz

Popcaan vehemently denied on Wednesday night that he was the artist who had gone to visit murder accused Noel Maitland last week.

According to allegations raised by protest organizers, a prominent artist had gone to visit the artist while he was being held at the Grants Pen lockups. At the time, Maitland was not charged yet.

On Tuesday (Aug 2), police announced that Maitland was being charged with the murder of Donna-Lee Donaldson based on forensics and technological data from his phones. They also confirmed that the artist would also be moved from the Grants Pen police station due to an unauthorized visit by an artist. As a result, a police officer who allowed the visit was also transferred pending an investigation.

The outcome of the investigation has not been revealed by the Jamaica Constabulary Force, and the identities of the artist or the police officer involved have not been disclosed.

However, an account on Instagram claimed that Popcaan, along with his rumored girlfriend Toni-Ann Singh, were the ones who visited the embattled police officer and producer of the One Time Label.

The account asked, “wht was so urgent and pressing that you had to go tell Noel?” The poster also tagged Popcaan and posted a photo of him and the former Jamaica Miss World.

The account also called out Toni-Ann Singh for accompanying Popcaan. The account did not share any evidence of its claim, but there were many comments on the post bashing the St. Thomas artist.

Popcaan took to Twitter to clear his name as he lashed out at the blog page seeking to tie him to Maitland.

“Don’t try mix me fi cover up unu dirty corrupted works!!” the artist said.

“Bright nuh blood***th!! A me say jungle justice!!” the artist added.

To be clear, Popcaan had no known association with the accused killer Noel Maitland, and so far, he has not publicly commented or said anything about the case. The accused cop also branded himself as a music producer and has previously acted in the role of security for a popular dancehall artist.

Noel Maitland founded his own label, One Time Music, in 2018. The label has released a handful of Riddim projects, including Right Time, Big Time, and High Time.

The police department still has not released the name of the entertainer and former beauty queen who they say visited Noel Maitland in police custody. It also remains unclear why the entertainer went to see the cop in custody.

Popcaan himself has had some recent issues with police officers and is currently suing the Jamaican government and the police force, the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF). Last year he was detained in St. Thomas for traffic offenses which were later dropped leaving him to pay a small fine. In June, he was detained by police in another traffic stop. The JCF did not say why the artist, who was traveling with Toni-Ann Singh, was detained.

The Game Struggles To Name One Good Thing About 50 Cent

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Urban Islandz

The Game had a hard time naming one good thing about 50 Cent.

The rift between the Los Angeles rapper and his former label chief does not seem to have an end in sight. The two rap titans have been at each other’s throats for years since the G-Unit split. Their battle was reignited last March, and The Game has been very vocal about how he feels about Fifty since then.

The “My Life” rapper was recently asked to name one good thing about 50 Cent on the I Am Athlete podcast and his answer was just in line with his recent comments about the New York rapper. He appeared on the show as he prepares to drop his 10th studio album Drillmatic: Mind Vs. Heart, which he revealed has been delayed.

When asked to comment on one good thing about his “Hate It Or Love It” collaborator 50 Cent, he sarcastically said that sometimes a person needs loose change.

“Let me break it down. Yo, let’s make sense of it. Let’s just say you left your wallet at home. You’re in your car, you pull over in L.A., there’s a parking meter. You open your middle console, you got a dollar,” the 42-year-old rapper continued.

His analogy went a bit further as he added, “The parking meter ain’t takin’ a dollar. And then you scrape to the bottom, past the Chapstick, past your earbuds and then you find a quarter, like 25 cent. You’re gonna be able to stay there for about 15 minutes. Loose change, you need it sometimes.”

The two have been at loggerheads for many years now, but the feud has seemingly died down in recent years. It once again flared up after master troll 50 Cent roasted The Game after reports that he got snubbed by Interscope Records head Jimmy Iovine at an NBA game.

As for his subsequent work, Drillmatic, the album was pushed down to a July 17 release date after he initially said it would drop in June. Now he said it will again be delayed further.

“I’ve always prided myself on my transparency in tow with sharing every part of my life & myself with my family, friends & my fans… the past two weeks have been a nightmare for me,” The Game wrote in a lengthy post on Instagram. “I have witnessed disloyalty on levels unimaginable by people I’ve trusted with my heart, money, career & livelihood. Not only have I been backstabbed & betrayed.. I’ve been left to pick up the pieces alone.”

“I’m in no way shape or form angry with anyone for choosing to act in the manner they have as of recent & send love & well wishes from this day forward as there is no hate, malice or vengefulness in my heart,” he continues.

“The date is AUGUST 12TH 2022 & I promise you it will not change or move,” he said. “I’ve given everything that I am to this album & I guarantee GREATNESS.”

Chris Brown Defends Raunchy Photos With Female Fans At Meet & Greet

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Urban Islandz

Chris Brown is finally speaking up after more photos from his meet and greets have been shared online by excited fans.

The singer reportedly charges $1,000 for each meet and greet as part of his VIP package experience for fans at his events. Over the weekend, Chris Brown was in Connecticut, where he posed with fans, and the photos have since gone viral.

Some of the photos are very physical as fans back up and pose their booty on the singer. Of course, it’s all in good fun, but many have spoken negatively about the pictures.

The Breezy singer is defending his unique meet and greet as he notes that he does whatever his fans want to do.

“PSA!!! When artist (everyone) do concerts, they all have something called a VIP package. I haven’t done meet and greets in over 7 years,” he began.

“I have the coolest fans on the planet… I appreciate the f*** outta them. These are memories that will last with them forever. Unlike most of the lame ass artist that won’t make eye contact with the people who made it possible to even have a career. I only exist because these fans saw something in me I never thought was possible… So Ima go all out for my fans!!!” the R&B singer said.

Meanwhile, one of the event planners of the Connecticut event, Shane Martin, said he was impressed with the way Brown treated his fans at his meet and greet.

“Just felt like I should share this. Last night Chris Brown was at Xfinity Theatre. I’ve operated hundreds and hundreds of meet & greets over the years and never have I ever seen an artist interact with the fans the way Chris Brown did. It was great! Usually artists pose for the pic, maybe shake a hand or two and then say next, making the experience last about 20-30 seconds. But Chris Brown shook everyone’s hand, gave multiple hugs, signed multiple things, and took lots of very entertaining pictures with each person!” he said in a lengthy post on Instagram.

“He actually stood there and talked to each fan for 3-4 minutes. He asked their name, asked about their life, and so many other questions. He sat and listened to the random rants that the fans wanted to talk about. Some talked about how they’ve been to 20+ concerts of his, some talked about how they bought their house on the day his album dropped, some talked about how he inspired them to start designing shoes. It was really cool,” he added.
