Lil Baby is poised to earn another No. 1 album next week.
The Atlanta rapper is slated to earn his second solo No. 1 for his third studio album, It’s Only Me. The first week sales projections are indicative of a chart-topper, as Lil Baby is expected to move 185k – 210k units by his Billboard 200 debut, according to HDD. The Quality Control rapper had a lot to live up to with the release of this album following the mega success of his last solo effort.
Back in 2020, Lil Baby’s second studio album, My Turn, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and has since gone 4x platinum. The rapper’s uber-successful sophomore effort broke the record for the longest streak when it spent six weeks at No. 1 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and just last month hit a century in the top 10.
The highly anticipated release of Lil Baby’s third studio was met with great expectation and critique. Clearly, the rapper did not disappoint his fans after coming under pressure to double down on his studio album success. It’s Only Me potentially marks Lil Baby’s third Billboard 200 No. 1 after The Voice of the Heroes. His collaborative effort with Lil Durk debuted at No. 1 in June 2021.
It’s Only Me is reportedly doing extremely well on streaming which is primarily responsible for the number of copies the rapper is expected to move in his opening week. The new album featured the likes of Future, Young Thug, Jeremih, and more and was produced by Murda Beatz, KRAZYMOB, Tay Keith, and others.
Among the popular tracks are “Stand On It” and “Not Finished,” which are most buzzed about since Lil Baby appears to be addressing the supposed beef between himself and labelmate Quavo after he was reportedly spotted hanging out with the Migos rapper’s ex-girlfriend, Saweetie, following their breakup.

A$AP Rocky and Rihanna are no longer on speaking terms with Kanye West following Ye’s recent claim about Rocky.
Last week, Kanye West made a bold allegation that designer Yoon Ambush slept with A$AP Rocky. The designer has also denied the allegation and has received support from a member of the A$AP Mob. In a post last week Thursday night, Kanye shared a screenshot of a list of names where he circles Yoon’s name as well as several others. “Other fake friend opps who hearted that Tremaine Threatened me on,” he captioned the screenshot.
He posted another screenshot that read, “Ambush weak Rocky F***ed Yoon next.” In the comments section, Yoon denied the claim, writing, “Lol. Not true but okay.” A$AP Nast chimed in saying, “Keep the gang out this gz.”
A$AP Rocky has not publicly responded to Kanye West, nor has his partner Rihanna, but sources close to the Bajan billionaire exclusively told Urban Islandz that they both cut Kanye off. We’re told that Rocky and Ye were working on new music and were in regular contact with each other, but that all shifted when the G.O.O.D. Music chief made the allegations about Yoon. Rocky felt betrayed by Ye and felt the claim disrespected his baby mother, Rihanna.
“They haven’t spoken about the lie he told and believe me ASAP feels strongly about it because its like an assault on his relationship with Rih, almost like the guy trying to ruin their relationship,” sources said. “They’re one hundred percent not on speaking terms and its unlikely their recent recordings will see the light of day.”
Our sources told us that A$AP Rocky has privately denied the allegation. The Harlem rapper and Kanye West regularly spoke, and Ye and Rihanna also occasionally talked. “All of that changed after last week, all communication stopped,” sources said.
A$AP Rocky was also close friends with the late fashion icon Virgil Abloh who Kanye West also took aimed at in his rant, which further soured their friendship.
Earlier this year, Rocky and Kanye were spotted in the studio working on new music, with Pusha T also showing up to the recording. Now it seems that music will not see the light of day because of Ye’s rant.
Kanye last week hinted that he wanted to be considered as one of the artists to grace the stage alongside Rihanna, who was named as the headliner for the Super Bowl Half Time Show at the end of September.
The Donda rapper had posted on his Instagram Story a screenshot of a news headline that said he was in the line-up of artists to be chosen. However, his recent behavior brings into question whether he will be chosen for the big stage, as the artist seems bent on stirring up controversy at every opportunity.
This week has been unending with drama, and Yoon isn’t the first victim as Kanye continues to bash those who seem to disagree with him or support persons who stand up to him.
The rapper has been under fire for his controversial ‘White Lives Matter‘ shirts, which have cast a dark shadow on Paris Fashion Week with Kanye calculatingly stealing the spotlight from the fashion show. The controversy has spilled over for days after the Yeezy season 9 launch.
The rapper has been using his Instagram account as a tool to drag and bully anyone he disagrees with, including Vogue editor Gabriella Karefa-Johnson whose account and handle he shared so his 17 million followers can cyberbully her, Gigi Hadid and Hailey Bieber, and others.

Since Johnson’s eloquent “read” of Kanye’s WLM shirts earlier this week, several influential persons in the fashion world have spoken up and condemned Kanye’s antics. It seems, however, that he’s ready to wage war with anyone who doesn’t seem to be on his side, including fashion designer Tremaine Emory who called him out after he claimed that LVMH boss Bernard Arnault “killed” talented designer Virgil Abloh who served as Louis Vuitton, artistic director. The designer had passed away after losing a battle with cancer almost a year ago,
The post that Yoon liked was the one where Emory did not mince words when he slammed Kanye for being a hypocrite and using Abloh’s death to further his “victim campaign” after receiving backlash for the WLM shirts. He also accused Kanye of exercising unchristian-like behaviors during the rapper’s life and shortly after his death.
“This time last year you said Virgil’s designs are a disgrace to the Black community in font of all your employees at Yeezy,” Emory said to Kanye.
While he claims that Emory has threatened him, Kanye has reverted with his own threats as well, saying on Thursday (Oct 6), “You don’t have the money to make it out of this one alive.”

Jhené Aiko and Big Sean have revealed that they are expecting a baby boy.
The artists were on stage together in Los Angeles on Thursday night when Big Sean announced the gender of their first child together. “L.A., make some noise.” Aiko says, “Make some noise for our baby boy!” Sean says as he walks over to Aiko and hugs her from behind. “Make some noise for our baby boy!!”
Big Sean also serenaded the mother of his child with the song, “I’m Gonna Be,” as the crowd loudly cheers. Fans of the couple have speculated that they are expecting a baby boy, especially as Big Sean has been using blue heart emojis whenever he speaks about him and Aiko or the baby.
The couple’s first child was announced back in July by Big Sean, who shared a photo of her from her maternity shoot photo. The couple has been dating since 2016 and, at one point, broke up but reconnected in 2020.
The Detroit rapper has also expressed his excitement at his first child entering the world. Aiko already has a child from another relationship, but that has not stopped their collective excitement over the last few months. “Thank you. Can’t wait!” he wrote, adding the blue heart and infinity emoji.
As Jhene Aiko approached the last trimester of her pregnancy this month, Big Sean shared a sweet update regarding their child. “Life is changing!” he wrote on Instagram. “LottA Gratitude!”
Aiko, who is a mom to a girl Namiko, now 13, has been spotted out and about with her daughter. In previous interviews, she spoke about raising her daughter on her own.
“I hope that my story inspires other young moms to feel strong and driven,” she said in a 2017 interview before adding, “you can be responsible for your own income, provide a roof over your child’s head, be nurturing, maternal, and wear as many pants around the house as you need to,” she continued. “Moms, we can do it all.”

Rapper Lil Baby has joined reality tv star and actress La La Anthony on her Rikers Island jail outreach.
On Friday, the actress shared that Lil Baby chose to accompany her to Rikers Island to talk to inmates instead of celebrating his latest album release. “Can’t say thank you enough to @lilbaby his album dropped today & he could have been anywhere but he wanted to be at Rikers Island with me & Pastor Tim talking to the young men there about his experience and how he changed his life,” La la said in a caption of several photos of herself with Lil Baby and her son.
“It was so POWERFUL. a day none of us will ever forget. im forever grateful for his help changing lives,” she added.
Earlier this week, La La Anthony received high praise from prison authorities for working on a program to mentor young men in Rikers Island between the ages of 18-21 years of age to help them to work on their confidence and self-esteem so they can reintegrate back into society.
Correctional officers have also praised La la for the work she was doing, especially as many of the inmates were receptive to the work she was doing.
In the photos La La shared, she is seen posing with Lil Baby, Pastor Tim, and her son Kiyan Anthony who also accompanied her.
La La’s best friend Kim Kardashian also reposted her Instagram post as she shared a little on La La’s work with inmates, which has largely been kept low-key.
“I have to highlight my best friend! @lala has spent hours and hours inside Rikers Island over the last few months spending time when young men who are incarcerated and helping to give them advice and not only teaching them but coming home with a heavy heart and learning so much herself,” Kardashian wrote.
“I love you for fighting this fight and being such an inspiration to me and somany others!” she added.
La La also responded with an emotional message to Kardashian, who is also a prison reform advocate.
“Your gonna make me cry. I love you so much. Thank you for all your hard work to change lives as well. Can’t wait for your amazing future as a lawyer! The best lawyer!” she added.

Things are getting fiery with Latto and Nicki Minaj as both rappers go head-on and refuse to back down following their blow-up on Twitter on Thursday (Oct 13).
On Friday, Latto shared a phone call with Nicki Minaj at the height of their beef. Nicki Minaj appeared to direct her anger at Latto after her song “Super Freaky Girl” was removed by the Grammy’s from the rap category and put in the pop category.
On Twitter, Latto claimed that Minaj’s rants were not about her Grammy nomination but that she had intended to beef with Latto. In a series of tweets, Latto hit out at the rapper, whom she called a bully.
“With all this being said this wasn’t JUST about a Grammy category. U being funny bringing me up to defend ur case knowing our last convo didn’t end on good terms. U literally told me I’m not “flourishing,” and no one cares about my “little song” otp lol@NICKIMINAJ,” Latto accused Minaj.
In another tweet, Latto also responded to now-deleted tweets by Minaj, which seemed to pit Latto against other rappers.
In the phone call, Latto is heard asking Minaj about her subtweeting her and explaining that she has always shown Minaj love in all of her interviews and online, only for the “Likkle Miss” rapper to come around and show her hate in return.
“it’s delusional to say other girls are flourishing?” Latto asks Minaj, who called her delusional on Twitter.
Minaj answers, “what do you think you wanna say about, let’s let you say about, let’s let you finish your statement about what rappers were doing before and what they’re doing now,” Minaj says.
Latto says, “for a long time before it was you,” as she begins to answer Minaj.
Nicki Minaj interjects, “you didn’t do your research. Imma have somebody send you the info about the women in the last 10 years who have had Billboard recognition, worldwide global recognition since you are clearly putting yourself above these people.”
“No, I’m not, that’s purposely [misinterpreting],” Latto tells Nicki Minaj as she says she will continue to show love for the veteran rapper and support her from the sidelines.
“I’m gonna support you from the sidelines because I can’t do it publicly when someone is literally subtweeting me for no reason, purposely trying to misinterpret what I am saying, I respect you too much to go back and forth with you,” Latto told Minaj.
Nicki Minaj, however, seems convinced that Latto has to learn some important lesson, although she failed to articulate what that lesson is, and when Latto asked, she quickly ended the call by saying she had a zoom call.
On Twitter, Latto explains the phone call and the reason she called and recorded the rapper.
“Lemme specify I’m sorry. Im delusional for saying ‘we’re’ (newer female rappers) are flourishing & u said no one cares about my little song LYRICS my bad. FYI I only recorded cause I KNOW who tf I’m playing wit #40yroldbully,” she said
In another tweet, she called out Minaj for being messy. “This lady so meticulous w her shade so she can twist it later and act like it wasn’t about you. Stand on that shit.”
Latto also said that Minaj also didn’t want to collaborate with her, and her behavior has shown she is a problem. “I’ll die on this hill by myself! Everybody ain’t lying on you! We see the pattern! BFFR!” one tweet read.
“The feature was never the problem..u passed on the TWO songs I sent & I still showed love??? U not the only person I’ve sent songs to that passed lmao. Never took offense. IMA RAPPER. Cute way to spin the narrative tho,” she also said.
Latto also responded to Minaj’s tweet accusing her of using ghostwriters, where she said that the older rapper had recommended writers she used.
“I’ll post em my got damn self. They’ll all tell u I WRITE TOO! I heard a few of ur refs before they came out too boo. U forgot WE ALL collab w the same writers?? Difference is I don’t deny it. The world seen me writing since 16 on national TV tho.”

Nicki Minaj is pissed that her song “Super Freaky Girl,” which was nominated for Best Rap Song, has been removed from the rap category by the Grammy Awards and placed in the pop section.
On Thursday afternoon, it was reported that the Grammy Awards committee shifted Minaj’s Billboard No. 1 track from the rap category as it was deemed a pop single by The Academy. The track is now vying for Best Pop Solo Performance. Shortly after the announcement, Minaj went off on a tirade as she claimed that if her track is a pop track, then so is Latto’s song “Big Energy,” which has been nominated in the rap category and which Latto has in the past also said the song is not purely rap.
On Twitter, Nicki Minaj claimed that she was fine with the shift except that the Recording Academy appeared unfair in how they treat all artists. “I have no prob being moved out the RAP category as long as we r ALL being treated FAIRLY,” Minaj began in the tweet.
To make her point, Nicki Minaj called out Latto’s song and said anyone who agreed with Latto’s song being in the rap category was a hater.
“If SFG (‘Super Freaky Girl’) has 2B moved out RAP then so does Big Energy!” she continued. “ANY1 who says diff is simply a Nicki hater or a troll. I’d actually LUV 2 c a more street record win- male OR female! IJS rightIsRight,” she added.
Minaj also went off in an Instagram Live video where she continued to elaborate on her tweet and claimed that both songs were very similar in elements and even had the same producers so it’s expected that they should both be in the pop category.
Latto, however, didn’t seem like she was up for the nonsense and appeared to have texted Minaj to keep her out of her arguments. “I agree w you however because of where we left off ion think u need to bring my name/song up to prove ur point,” Latto said in a text message.
Nicki Minaj, however, went on the offense and disrespected Latto on Twitter as she called her a “Karen” and a “scratch” and said that Latto did not speak up for her after her song was pulled from the rap category.
“This Karen has probably mentioned my name in over 100 interviews. Says she waited in line for Pink Friday wher Barbie chain on, bangs, pink hair…but today, scratch off decides to be silent; rather than speak up for the black woman she called her biggest inspiration,” she tweeted.
Latto seemingly responded to Minaj’s tweet in several responses where she shared that she felt she couldn’t enjoy her accomplishment without controversy.
“Damn I can’t win for losing… all these awards/noms I can’t even celebrate,” she tweeted.
In other tweets, she also responded to Minaj calling her a Karen.
“1st of all I texted u cause I didn’t wanna do the internet sht w sum1 I looked up to. Just like the 1st time I DMed u asking about ur ongoing subtweets. I wanted to speak up cuz like I said I do agree but the way u going about it seems malicious esp. after how we left off,” Latto said in a tweet posted late on Thursday night.
Latto also took a low blow at Minaj as she told the rapper that she was older than her mother but trying to bully her.
“I’ve ignored countless subtweets since March and instead addressed u in the dm. You’re asking why I didn’t speak up in ur defense… it’s the same answer I gave u when u asked why I didn’t congratulate you. Ur literally older than my mom tryna be a bully @NICKIMINAJ,” Latto bravely tagged Minaj on her tweet.
Meanwhile, Minaj fans also turned up to bully Latto, with some claiming that she was “playing the victim.” Latto, however, shared a screenshot of a tweet Minaj recently posted where she said the “We Go Up” rapper was targeting her.
“Unfollowed. Ugh barbz I just said stop putting that dud on my timeline. I know ur defending me but leave the dud on TikTok. Lemme think,” a tweet by Minaj on October 2 read.
While the Recording Academy has not offered an explanation for the decision, it seems that Minaj’s grouse is with the Grammy’s.
The Trinidadian rapper has been nominated ten times over the course of her 20-year career, but she has so far been unsuccessful in winning a Grammy.
Still, Nicki Minaj continued on her rampage while Latto took the high road. Late Thursday night, Minaj shared a series of tweets where she continued to call Latto “scratch” and even came or Latto’s mixed heritage.
“Who wanna hear the reference tracks of scratch off ghost writers rapping her bars? she used me & the Barbz in every interview until that album sold double wood now she wiping that spray tan off & being a Karen. They black when it’s beneficial chi,” Minaj wrote on Twitter.
“All this time I thought you was at least 35,” she wrote in one tweet. “Age shaming when you look like YOU the one pushing 40. Age shaming but was BEGGING for a feature. Imagine what dem genes gon do in 10 years Oh so you in your 20’s. Oh ok then. At least it match your album sales. You sold 20K right? Mad u flopped. That’s why u rlly mad,” Minaj added in another tweet.

Nicki Minaj and Spice fans have turned their attention to Shenseea over a single tweet. Some folks are questioning why the Jamaican singer wasn’t featured on Nicki Minaj’s new Caribbean girl power anthem.
Fans of Dancehall Queen Spice are calling Shenseea “jealous” and shady after she was left off of Nicki Minaj’s remix “The Fine 9 Likkle Miss” remix. Minaj dropped the remix last Friday as a surprise track featuring Trinidadian artists Destra Garcia and Patrice Roberts and Jamaican dancehall artists Lisa Mercedez, Pamputtae, Lady Leshurr, Dovey Magnum, Spice, and London Hill.
On Sunday, Shenseea shared a tweet that seemed to stir up an ants nest. “I’m glad I don’t kiss a**!” the artist wrote on Twitter. Many of Spice’s fans who commented on the post seemed to think that Shenseea was subbing Spice, although the two artists appeared to not have any conflicts in recent times.
“Jealousy is a disease and you’ll die slow you’re not genuine, and you’re a HATER. That’s why you’ll continue to flop, doesn’t matter how light your skin is you’re still a LOOOOSERRRR!! AH HASAA YOU MAD DOGGY???” one fan commented under her tweet.
A Spice updates page also added, “Sis is mad that @NICKIMINAJ didn’t put her on the likkle miss (fine 9) remix.”
Another Spice fan added, “She’s not in a happy place and it shows. She thought she would be like Sean Paul and Shaggy by this, but sadly she’s is no where. Even Lady Saw admit it. BTW Remember to stream EMANCIPATED.”
“Spice lives in your head tent free,” another said.
Shenseea has not responded to the trolls, but she has shared that she has been working. She recently released the visuals for her song “Obsessed” with Calvin Harris and also shared that she has been busy in the studio creating magic for fans.
“I got so much music that aint out yet, its crazy,” she wrote in another tweet.
Shenseea is known to be unbothered when it comes to addressing drama and has never acknowledged or responded to drama from Spice or her fans. Years ago, Shenseea had said in an interview that many female artists in the dancehall space did not want to collaborate with her.
She has gone on to be featured by Kanye West and DJ Khaled and has worked with Megan Thee Stallion, among others. This year, Shenseea was nominated for four Grammy awards and a VMA.
Spice, on the other hand, has not acknowledged her fans’ tweets. The artist has been busy in Canada, where she performed her verse on “The Fine 9” remix for the first time publicly.

One of the most popular tunes made by the dynamic duo, Chaka Demus and Pliers, was inspired by the hugely popular Angela Lansbury series Murder She Wrote. The track, which shared the same name, dominated the airwaves in the Caribbean from the time it was released in 1992 and beyond.
It appeared on their album Bam Bam it’s Murder. Beloved British actress Lansbury died peacefully at her Los Angeles home on Tuesday. She was 96. It’s no wonder that the show inspired the track considering its long-spanning run time and the fact that many in the Caribbean loved the show as well. It aired on the CBS Network from 1984 through 1996.
Pliers spoke with the Observer and admitted to loving the show when he was much younger. He also said he found Lansbury to be a very sound actress. He added that he believed she lived a full life before he extended condolences to her family, friends, and fans.
Pliers shared how he came up with the hook for the successful track that still features in some clubs and parties. He was very young and placed his age somewhere between 18 and 19. At that time, he was at a mechanic shop and heard a friend of his deejaying the lines: ‘Murder She Wrote, Murder She Wrote.’
“I had written my song already but it was not yet recorded, but when I heard the breddin, I said to myself: ‘That would fit my punchline’. So I changed my song around… instead of deejaying it, I sang it. Mi breddin used to watch Murder She Wrote too,” he continued.
It was definitely a bolt of inspiration that hit him as the track went on to become a certified gold record in the United Kingdom and was the track that gave the duo a taste of global success.
The track peaked at No. 57 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1992, No. 39 on the publication’s R&B table, and No. 5 on the Hot Rap Songs chart. It did well in England and reached No. 27 on the British charts. The track also opened up a new pathway for them, as many of the singles they released after did well.
The “Tease Me” deejay also shared that at the time of its rise, in any country the pair visited, they would hear “Murder She Wrote” playing.
“I went to Russian about 1995-96 and was surprised at a concert we were performing when I heard everybody singing the song word fi word; Dubai, anywhere, everywhere. It’s not a joke song. The song will help keep Angela Lansbury memory alive,” he shared.
Just a short while ago, Pitchfork named Chaka Demus and Pliers’ “Murder She Wrote” No. 92 in their list of 250 Best Songs of The 1990s.
Lansbury eventually got wind of the song many years later in 2019, during a CBS interview, according to Billboard. She excitedly told the host that she was thrilled to be part of reggae.
Lansbury was also well-known for her career on Broadway, which included the musicals Mame and Gypsy, and she also sang the theme song for the animated movie Beauty and the Beast.
