Blueface Confirms Chrisean Rock Was Arrested For Beating Him Up

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Urban Islandz

Chrisean Rock and Blueface’s up-and-down relationship has taken another turn resulting in her arrest on Sunday night. Videos shared online show Rock on the ground for the second time this week as police arrest her.

Sunday night’s incident stems from another fight with Blueface, but this time, it’s clear that Chrisean Rock is the problem as she socks Blue in the face. A video showed the couple in a lounge setting when Blueface approaches her, but Rock punches him in the face instead.

The incident is said to have occurred at an Arizona club with the couple and others seen earlier in the day together at the Cookout Day party where they hosted the event, but it seems that things soured within hours between the two.

One video shared by a blog showed the moment the incident occurred.

“Why Blueface beating Chrisean ass like that?” someone is heard saying at the start of the clip. The couple is then seen arguing before Rock appears to step up onto something to punch Blueface. She hits him at least two times.

This is the second time Rock has been arrested this week, as a video from Zeus’ Baddies South show in which she appears showed footage of her being arrested by deputies and Bounty Hunters. They were tailing the show after Rock failed to show up for court in an ongoing case.

Chrisean Rock is facing multiple charges for breaking into Blueface’s house and later stealing his car and selling crack cocaine.

In the meantime, Blueface didn’t seem hurt too severely, but in a surprising twist, the rapper asked for her to be freed.

“Free Rock,” he added. “We ain’t gonna ever make the same mistake twice,” he said before adding, “She hit me this time.”

When asked about her whereabouts, Blueface said that security and police arrested her. “What can I do?” he asked. He also showed his face to the camera. “She hit me with a banger,” he said. “I ain’t even do nothing. She be all right. Free Rock,” ended the video.

Blueface and Chrisean recently disclosed that they took their relationship to the next level as Blue asked her to officially be his girlfriend last week. This was just days after the two had a public brawl but appeared to make up after.

On Friday, Blueface shared a video of the couple in the aftermath of another fight. This time he had managed to grab a tuft of hair from the back of her head and pulled it out completely from the root. The rapper showed off Rock’s bald spot and noted that they were fighting over her running away with his phone.

Despite concerns raised about his toxic relationship with Chrisean, the couple on Saturday appeared to be in good spirits as Blue gifted her a new diamond necklace and a “buss down” watch. It is alleged that Chrisean has signed away her Zeus checks to Blueface. The rapper has not addressed the claim, but Rock has previously said she wouldn’t leave Blueface ever.

In the meantime, the Hollywood fight is still being investigated by police, but no charges have been laid.

Nicki was born in Trinidad and Tobago before immigrating to the United States with her parents at age five. She started rapping, singing, and acting at a young age, but her big break in music would come just over a decade ago when Lil Wayne saw a DVD of her rapping and offered her a deal with Young Money/Cash Money.

To date she is one of the top selling artists in the world with over 100 Billboard Hot 100 entries, making her the first female artist in history to achieve triple digits chart entries.

The Game Explains Why He Refused To Pay NBA YoungBoy $200K For Verse

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Urban Islandz

The Game says he refused to pay YoungBoy Never Broke Again $200K for a verse on his new album.

The Baton Rouge rapper was originally featured on The Game’s latest album, Drillmatic, but the multi-platinum selling artist’s verse was removed because the Los Angeles rapper did not want to pay the enormous fee for the feature.

The Game is an established artist, but he is not as popular in the present time compared to NBA YoungBoy’s selling point, which has hundreds of RIAA certified Gold and Platinum records, and he is also the second most streamed artist for 2022 with four billion and counting streams behind Drake.

In a statement on Instagram, the Documentary rapper said, “I ain’t never paid for a verse in my life n***a, 200k for a 16 [crying laughing emojis] never & a day blood.”

The Game/Instagram

The Game’s manager, Wack 100, revealed on Friday that NBA YoungBoy’s feature was too high for the rapper, and he was taken off of the album.

NBA YoungBoy was initially announced to be on Game’s 10th studio album Drillmatic: Heart vs Mind on the track “O.P.P.” ‘The Last Slimeto’ rapper was conspicuously absent from the album after its release, and the track “O.P.P” was removed completely.

On Clubhouse, Wack 100 disclosed the reason for the rapper being axed was the feature price.

“Sometimes when it comes down to a situation that I had to make an executive decision about. In YoungBoy’s defense, YoungBoy charges n*****s 300,000 a verse. That’s what he charge. He gave us a hell of deal [150K]. But that situation would have cut into marketing overall,” YoungBoy said.

He added that there were no hard feelings towards YoungBoy as the decision was purely business.

“So I had to make the executive decision to pay the tab he sent me, which was a respectable, great tab. It was love. But that tab would have cut into that, that and that … nothing against YoungBoy, he didn’t disrespect us.”

Wack 100 also disclosed that there were other decisions he had to make to stick to the marketing budget for the project, especially as ten songs and six samples were on the project.

Along with “O.P.P,” the Game also lost out on having Nipsey Hussle on the track “World Tours” after the late rapper’s estate, at the last minute, blocked the Compton rapper from using Nipsey’s verse. The Game reportedly received a cease-and-desist letter from the artist’s estate lawyer.

Meanwhile, ‘Drillmatic’ entered the charts at No. 10 this week and sold 24,959 album equivalent units.

The Game has previously said this is the album of his career and has even boasted this would be the album of the year despite it being the lowest-selling album of his career.

“I can honestly say nothing rap related will be able to stand next to this in 2022,” Game said in a lengthy message posted on his Instagram.

In the meantime, NBA YoungBoy’s ‘The Last Slimeto’ debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart last week. The rapper barely missed out by 400 streams to be beaten by Bad Bunny for the top spot. YoungBoy secured 108,000 album-equivalent unit sales, with 103,500 of that amount coming from streaming-equivalent album units.

R. Kelly: Singer Sparkle Denies Telling 14-Y-O Niece To Rub Singer’s Head

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Urban Islandz

Singer Sparkle found herself in the middle of R. Kelly’s federal child pornography trial.

Sparkle, who is reportedly the aunt of the 14-year-old who testified that she was introduced to R. Kelly by her aunt, who encouraged her to ask the singer to be his god-daughter and entice him by rubbing his head and sitting on his lap, is disputing the claim.

Jurors and observers heard the gory details from the 14-year-old, who disclosed that the singer began grooming the 14-year-old victim and began having sex with her at just 15 years old when Kelly was around 30 years old. Kelly is on trial in Chicago for child pornography and charges that he rigged his 2008 trial to secure his freedom by intimidating the witnesses and using money to make the victim disappear.

Prosecutors are pushing for another conviction on those charges to add to R. Kelly being sentenced to 30 years in prison after being found guilty of sex trafficking and racketeering by a New York jury last month.

Meanwhile, Sparkle, real name Stephanie Edwards, has come out in her own defence and claims that her niece has lied on the stand as she did not push her to be involved with Kelly. The woman who is known as an early protégé of Kelly in the 1990s and goes by the stage name Sparkle had previously testified in Kelly’s 2008 trial and the ‘Surviving R. Kelly’ documentary as she had identified her niece as the girl in a porn video that circulated in Chicago. At the time, the niece had denied it was her, although she changed her testimony on the stand on Thursday to confirm that it was her in the video.

On the stand, the woman, who is now 37 and identified as just Jane Doe, shared details of how she met Kelly and how they had sex hundreds of times, and he made videos of their encounters which sometimes also involved other minor girls.

The woman disclosed that her aunt and her parents knew about her being around Kelly. “They would pretty much drop me off and then leave,” she said about her parents and the introduction by her aunt.

Sparkle, however, disputed the witness account after a social media user questioned her about it.

“Are you the aunt who had that child rub R. Kelly’s head? Please say it’s not you,” the user said.

Sparkle replied with a strong denial. “Absolutely NOT! I can’t help the lies told on me & under oath at all… & cause ya momma mad at me cause y’all were FORCED to testify,” she said.

In another video she released, Sparkle claimed that the claim was an absolute “f**king lie.” She added she had indeed introduced Kelly to the victim and her mother and father, but it was not her intention for her to become involved with the singer.

Sparkle is claiming that the victim’s mother was also upset at her, and the victim’s testimony was aimed at getting back at her for going against Kelly. She added that there is a “family feud,” and the victim’s testimony is a clear plan to “try to take her down.”

Sparkle added that she and Kelly were never romantically involved as painted by the victim.

“We were a gospel group just years prior so me thinking about them for them was partly programmed in me…again, Because Robert was given the opportunity to have his own imprint, record label, I introduced my sister, my brother-in-law and my niece to Robert at CRC studios in 1997 in hopes of landing my niece a career in this industry, not a concert as she testified,” Sparkle said.

The woman who previously testified against Kelly in 2008 and was the one who brought the sex tapes to the victim’s parent’s knowledge says that she had the greatest of intentions when she spoke up against Kelly, but her life was made “hell” by the victim’s mother.

Kelly’s trial is ongoing, with the sex tapes of other underaged victims set to be played for jurors.

The prosecution has not responded to the claim.

Triller Responds To Swizz Beatz & Timbaland $28m Lawsuit Over Verzuz

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Urban Islandz

Triller responds to a lawsuit filed by Verzuz co-founders.

Swizz Beatz and Timbaland are suing social video platform Triller for defaulting on a sale of their “Verzuz” franchise. However, the social media platform which is hoping to replace Tik Tok in the American market is pushing back as it claims that the rappers have been paid over 50 million so far from the deal and that the two rappers have failed to complete obligations on their part.

In a new lawsuit filed by the two hip-hop icons, they say that Triller has failed to settle its agreement to purchase Verzuz despite running off Verzuz events on its platform.

Last March, Triller announced that it had acquired Verzuz to be administered on its social platform in a bid to expand into the music space and work with prominent artists. Both rappers were said to be shareholders under the sale agreement for an undisclosed sum of money, and they also had said that an equity stake from their remaining shares would be given to 43 performers who participated in Verzuz.

Verzuz was created by Swizz Beatz and Timbaland as an idea off of an Instagram Live, but instead of the artists talking, they were to clash. The event became popular largely due to the fact that the Covid-19 pandemic had forced people indoors due to social distancing regulations, and everything shifted online.

Music fans, particularly those in the hip hop sphere, craved entertainment which Verzuz satisfied. However, a year since the deal was brokered, the two rappers say that Verzuz has defaulted on the agreement.

According to TMZ, Timbaland and Swizz want to recover $28 million from Triller, which is unpaid monies owed for the rap battle idea.

The rappers say that Triller initially paid two payments on the amount, but after that, the company defaulted. After that event, the rappers say that Triller eventually made another payment, but shortly after that, they defaulted on the deal.

Triller now owes $28 million plus interest, the rappers say.

Meanwhile, according to TMZ, Triller says that they have paid the rappers millions in cash, and stock is not aware of what’s happening.

“This is truly unfortunate and we hope it is nothing more than a misunderstanding driven by lawyers. We do not wish to air our dirty laundry in the press, but we have paid Swizz and Tim millions in cash and in stock,” a statement by Triller said.

“No one has benefited as much from Triller to date. Triller has helped fuel VERZUZ to new heights – making it the global cultural phenomenon it is today. We hope to resolve this amicably and quickly, and truly hope it’s just a misunderstanding. If we are forced to defend it, we are more than optimistic the truth and facts are on our side,” an earlier statement from Triller said.

In a later statement shared on Monday afternoon, Triller claimed that they paid Swizz and Timbaland $50 million so far under the deal, and there isn’t any feud over money.

“This is not a feud over Verzuz, but simply about earn-out payments to Swizz and Tim. Swizz and Tim have personally been paid by Triller over $50 million in cash and stock to date, and they stand to benefit even more over time. In addition, they have annual obligations, which if met, and no breach has occurred, entitles them to additional payments,” a statement from the company said.

It continued, “Only one payment of $10 million is in question. We do not believe they have met the thresholds for that payment yet, which include, but are not limited to, delivery of a set number of Verzuz events for 2022. We have been trying to resolve this amicably and this does not affect Verzuz operations or Triller’s ownership of Verzuz. If this does proceed in court, we look forward to a judgment that weighs all the facts,” the statement ended.

The new shoes, which come in several hues, bring together the signature Wallabee Boot and Desert Trek into one new and innovative design and is the first collection by Sterling with the beloved shoe brand.

Sterling is known for his love for the iconic brand, which has a huge presence in Jamaican culture as music fans especially love the iconic Clarks shoes. Sterling as well has shared his love for the shoes, which have been featured in reggae and dancehall music lyrics over the last 40 years.

This is not the first collaboration between Clarks and Sterling they have collaborated before. The famous footballer is Jamaican and moved to Wembley, England as a child.

He previously shared his love for the Wallabees, which increased his athletic abilities as a child on the playground.

According to Clarks, the new collaboration pays homage to Sterling’s birthplace, Jamaica.

Photos of the Clarks were shared on Wednesday, with Top Boy’s Kadeem Ramsay posing as the male model and DJ Becca Dudley as the female model. The photos also feature Sterling and the shoes with an embossed motif ‘1692’ that references the famous 1692 Port Royal earthquake event that sunk the city, which served as Jamaica’s capital. The event is nowadays associated with what remains of Port Royal, the home of Sterling.

Jamaica’s national motto, ‘Out of Many – One People,’ is also inscribed inside the shoe.

The colors of the shoe range from neutral tones of navy blues, clean whites and ecru. There are also darker shades of grey, black, and khaki, all paying homage to the natural beauty of Jamaica.

Sterling spoke about his love for Clarks shoes since he was a boy at the launch of the collection recently.

“In school, I wanted to keep up with the kids wearing fresh kicks so I was selling frozen slush after class to make money to buy my first pair of Wallabees,” he said.

“Fast forward and now to be the first Jamaican with my own Clarks collection is an honour. When I heard I could build this line I was buzzing, it’s a brand I’ve loved from a young age so to have this opportunity is really special,” he added.

“As a nod to the special connection between Clarks and Jamaica I wanted to do something that was for the island, for Jamaica itself. On the heel you see my brand 1692 which is the year Kingston was founded and hidden inside the shoe is the motto of Jamaica, out of many one people,” he added.

The collection is only available online in the UK and EU and exclusively through Clarks UK website.

Ne-Yo On Vybz Kartel & Spice “Romping Shop” Clearance: “The Streets Cleared It”

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Urban Islandz

Ne-Yo says that problems encountered by Vybz Kartel and Spice for the sample of his song “Miss Independent” on their biggest hit, “Romping Shop,” had nothing to do with him.

In an interview on Drink Champs, Ne-Yo says that he was not the one who refused to clear the song as he claims that he was not aware the song was sampled, and he didn’t have an issue with it anyways.

Thirteen years ago, Vybz Kartel and Spice dropped what is now one of the biggest songs in dancehall, “Romping Shop.” The song sampled “Miss Independent” but caused major controversy for all of the artists involved.

Miss Independent was a widely successful track for Ne-Yo as it became his first No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100, topping the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. The song spent almost a dozen weeks on various charts and is now a platinum-selling record.

However, after “Romping Shop” was released, Vybz Kartel received a cease-and-desist letter threatening legal action from EMI Music Publishing. A letter from EMI was widely publicized, signaling that the era of dancehall artists sampling hip hop and R&B tracks without permission was over due to the incorporation of technology.

The letter demanded that “Romping Shop” could not be released and that the artist was to destroy all of the recordings of the infringing track and that the song will be removed from all internet sites.

This led to Vybz Kartel changing the riddim on the song and re-releasing it as he did not seek permission to sample the track in the first place. More than a decade later, “Romping Shop” is as successful as “Miss Independent,” which has 424 million views on YouTube.

In his interview with Drink Champs, Ne-Yo says that he had nothing to do with the Jamaican artists being told to change the riddim on the track. The artist said he was ready to approve the clearance as he knew about Vybz Kartel’s popularity back then.

“I didn’t not clear it…the streets cleared it right away which made it virtually impossible to not clear it, even if I was thinking about not clearing it which by the way I was never thinking about not clearing it,” he said to N.O.R.E.

Ne-Yo added that before seeing the popularity of “Romping Shop” rise as it debuted on the Billboard Hot 100, he was told about Vybz Kartel, and the knowledge that he had sampled “Miss Independent” without permission had come by surprise to him.

“Before the song was presented to me, the concept of Vybz Kartel and who he was was presented to me. Like, this is ‘that dude’ oh, and by the way, he did this with your song. It was presented to me like that. So I’m like, so, what are we talking about right now? Of course, it’s fine. Why would I have a problem with this?” he told the hosts.

Ne-Yo added that “Romping Shop” inevitably helped to raise the profile of his own track.

“To this day, I can’t be over there and perform Miss Independent without giving props to what the f**k he did. You created a whole other vibe and that’s just off of the sh*t that I was tryna do. I gotta give you love for that,” he said.

The artist added that, in his opinion, sampling is essential to teach the younger generation to make better music or experience an era they could otherwise not grow up in.

“You gotta realise, it’s generations coming behind you …and if you decide to not let nobody f**k with what you did because it’s what you did and you gon’ have this pride about it, then them generations don’t get it. Them generations don’t get to experience it, they don’t get to enjoy it.”

“Romping Shop” is by far one of the most controversial and sexually explicit tracks by Vybz Kartel. The artist became known for his raunchy music, which also saw pushback from society concerning the lyrics of the music.

The song was banned by the Broadcasting Commission of Jamaica from radio and TV as it violated the rules for publishing music. This led to the artist creating a “clean” version of the song.

Black Immigrant Daily News

Offset has announced that he is dropping his first solo album amid rumors that the Migos rap group is no more.

The group members have avoided answering the question about whether the group is no more and they have each announced separate projects, with Quavo and Takeoff going off on their own as a two-man band and Offset continuing solo.

On Monday, Offset announced that he was releasing the first track “54321,” from the album on Friday. The track is produced by Baby Keem for his upcoming single.

“I got my single “54321” dropping on Friday… I’m coming aggressive, shout out my boy Keem he produced the beat, he sent me the beat one night, and I heard it and I was like ‘oh yeah I gotta go crazy on this,” the rapper said in an Instagram Live.

Offset also spoke about his upcoming album as he shared what fans can expect from the strictly rap project.

“The album full of hits, full of smashes, y’all gon see how I’m coming, I’m coming, crazy like…I ain’t come to play no games, I got sh*t for the girls too like…you gotta have that soft spot for the ladies on this album cause I feel the ladies is going crazy anyway and like you getting the support from the women you gonna go next level,” he said.

The rapper has not released more details on the name of the album or when it will be released, but he has been throwing hints to fans for the last few months as he dropped several videos of him listening to his new music.

Meanwhile, Quavo and Takeoff have been releasing music on their own as the duo Unc & Phew.

The rappers recently addressed their new working dynamic in an interview with Rap Radar Podcast, where they speak about operating on the same level as Migos.

“The chemistry is the same, and the recording is the same,” Quavo said. “We always normally record by ourselves because we’re so crazy on just dropping new s**t on each other,” he said.

Migos’ label Quality Control has not addressed the rumors that the group has split, nor has any of the members officially spoken about the group’s position.
