Intence Release Vybz Kartel and JahShii In “Correction” Diss Track

Black Immigrant Daily News

Dancehall star Intence is raising some eyebrows with his new song “Correction,” in which he seemingly takes shots at Vybz Kartel, Jahshii, and Kartel’s right-hand man Sikka Rymes.

Intence is not new to controversies and beefs. In fact, his career is built on controversies, so it’s no surprise he is stirring things up after unleashing his new track on the airwaves. The Jett Life deejay started the Futuristic Music and Crash Dummy Productions-produced song saying he doesn’t have to call any names, leaving fans to speculate from his rhymes.

While Vybz Kartel appears to be his primary target in the song, Intence injected a quick line about an artist who shot themself. “Dah one deh bad fi shot himself,” he deejay. Fans were quick to point out that JahShii admitted in an interview with Anthony Miller of Entertainment Report last year that he once shot himself. The interview went viral for that, among other reasons.

Intence seemingly emphasized this line aimed toward Vybz Kartel, who is currently incarcerated. “No boy cant gimme chat weh nah f*** suh uno build,” he deejays. The dancehall artist again took more shots at the Worl’Boss in the punchline where he sings, “Laugh after dem, ha ha ha ha haa, a nuh me make uno naa get nuh pun na na naa.”

Still, it might be a stretch to single out Vybz Kartel as the primary target in those lines since the former Portmore Empire deejay is currently engaged to his girlfriend of seven years, Sidem Öztürk. She has been visiting him at the Horizon Adult Remand Center, where he is housed, so perhaps he is also getting “conjugal” visits. Of course, in Intence eyes, he is not getting any “pun na na naa.”

One particular line is a clear shot at Kartel’s right-hand man, Sikka Rymes, who was shot three times in December 2019 in St. Andrew. “Dem couldn’t mad fi bad mi up, dem never bad a Liguanea,” Intence deejays, seemingly alluding to when the artist was shot in the same location.

Intence also released the song with an accompanying music video directed by Jerro Will. Fans have also been reacting to the diss record, with most praising the “New Gear” deejay for the effort.

“To be honest intence flow smooth and clean every song intence drop it have a different flow this artist really a lyrical machine,” one fan wrote while another added, “To diss Vybz Kartel and JahShii in the same song a no normal badness man say anything a anything mi like the vibes for dancehall but Jashii a coward him nah go respond and Sikka no ready for this level of lyrical warfare.”

“Intence hit the target straight with this one am bumping it for the rest of the year dem man better retire,” another fan wrote.

Mike Tyson Offered Remy Ma Cars To Spend Night With Him, Fat Joe Shares

Black Immigrant Daily News

Boxing legend Mike Tyson is not disputing that he once made an offer to Bronx rapper Remy Ma to sleep with him in exchange for a luxury car.

An interview clip has gone viral with Mike Tyson sitting down with Fat Joe and Angie Martinez, and it’s quite cringy. Mike Tyson and Fat Joe discussed the story on the former’s podcast called Hotboxin’ With Mike Tyson podcast, which premiered on Sept. 15. According to Fat Joe, the incident happened in 2004 when Remy Ma was not only a big-time rapper but she was already established and had several hits under her name, like the track “Monster” featuring Swizz Beatz.

While many were tuned in to the young Remy, who oozed gangster with a splash of sexy, it seemed that Tyson was also watching her. According to Fat Joe, Tyson invited him to his mansion and specially requested the Bronx rapper to come too. “Mike invites me to the house and he says bring Remy Ma with you,” Fat Joe begins.

“We go to the house. He opens the door butt naked,” Joe says. “Mike opens the door ass naked. I’m like, what the fuck is up, bro?’”

Joe added, “He takes me [on] a tour of the house, I’m not lying to you, every room I walked in, there was a chick in every room. In every fucking room, jacuzzi… I’m like what the f**k, Iron Mike, this guy lives a f****g life.”

Mike Tyson, who previewed the story by saying that it is an old story and no one should be mad, also shared that he told Joe to leave the then 24-year-old Remy Ma behind. “I said, ‘Joe, just leave Remy Ma,’” Tyson chimed in. “She was upstairs and I was blocking her. She was, ‘No, no.’”

Joe also confirmed that the boxer “wanted to keep Remy Ma.” When Remy refused, Tyson also tried his best to entice her with material possessions.

“He made her offers. He showed this convertible Benz new shit. He was like, ‘You can keep this, all you gotta do is spend one night.’ She looked at me like, ‘Joe, if you don’t get me the f**k out this house.’ I was like, ‘Mike, we can’t do that. This is my sister’ … He offered her some f**king 500 Benz, I was like, ‘Oh my God.’”

Mike Tyson’s documentary is currently playing on Hulu. The documentary, although not supported by Mike Tyson, does bring into focus the boxer’s extravagant lifestyle but also the difficulties and hardships he faced before becoming a famous boxer, and also his interactions with women as a powerful and famous man.

Tyson’s career suffered immensely when he was accused by a beauty queen, Desiree Washington, of raping her in 1991.

The former heavyweight world champion was arrested in July 1991 after being accused of raping Washington at a Canterbury hotel in Indianapolis. The victim had claimed that the boxer had attended one of her pageant rehearsals in the town, and he had invited her to his hotel room, and while there, he forced himself on her.

In February 1992, Tyson was found guilty of rape after a short two-week trial. He was sentenced to 10 years in jail but eventually had four years suspended and was released early in March 1995.

It’s unclear if his podcast will address the rape trial.

Future Responds To Critics After Selling 612 Songs From His Catalog

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Urban Islandz

Future recently confirmed that he has inked an eight-figure deal that sees him selling his music catalog to an investment firm, Influence Media Partners.

As part of the deal, the Grammy-winning rapper handed over his catalog that spans 2004 to 2020, which holds over 600 songs and many of his No. 1 hits. According to the company, it acquired 612 titles from Future, including hit songs made with some of the biggest names in hip hop – Drake (“Life Is Good,” and “Jumpman”), Kendrick Lamar (“King’s Dead”), Rihanna (“Selfish”), and The Weeknd (“Low Life”) to name a few.

However, Future’s decision to sell has drawn mixed reactions from many of his fans, some of whom criticized the move while others also speculated that the rapper’s finances were lacking.

“Time to pay up that child support, it’s going to sting. That’s why you plan how many you have because the older you get the less that income is. Selling catalogs this early is not a good sign for his financial future,” one person wrote on Twitter.

“I don’t understand artists doing this. You’ve basically sold yourself out,” another person said. “Child support for 15 kids is killing him!” another said.

The rapper, however, responded to critics on Wednesday on Twitter. “Unsuccessful people have no clue how success works,” he wrote.

Twitter

The news about the rapper selling his catalog was first shared on Tuesday. Influence Media Partners is reportedly backed by Warner Music and investment firm Black Rock.

“We consider Future an artist of the ages. He resonates across a spectrum of demographics. We’re so excited about this partnership, it’s a fitting addition to our growing repertoire of top-tier talent and promotes our forward-thinking mission. During my tenure at Epic Records, I was able to work with and support Future throughout his pivotal career. Now at Influence, it feels like fate to be able to collaborate with him again alongside my dynamic partners to protect his legacy and works,” Influence Media Co-Managing Partner Lynn Hazan said about the deal.

Future also said he was confident about the deal while assuring his fans that his music catalog is close to his heart and feels his work is in good hands.

“I put everything into my music, and I wanted to make sure these were in good hands as I thought about the next chapter of these songs,” Future laments.

Future’s deal follows news of Influence’s $750 million fund platform to invest in “high-value compositions” from artists. The fund is backed by BlackRock, Inc. and Warner Music Group.

So far, Investment now holds over 20 catalogs from artists, including Puerto Rican songwriter-producer Tainy, singer-songwriter Julia Michaels, songwriter Ali Tamposi, and singer-songwriter Jessie Reyez among others.

Trinidad Artist Kalonji Gets Backlash Over IG Post After Girlfriend’s Death

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Urban Islandz

Trinidad artist Kalonji Arthur has come under fire by some people for what they perceive as his insensitive remarks following the violent death of his girlfriend, 25-year-old Bridget James.

The 25-year-old artist of Delaford, Tobago, has seemingly recovered following the shooting incident and, according to a post he made on Instagram, is already focusing on new music. The message, which apparently came from his team, acknowledged the young woman’s death but also stated that he was already looking to get back into music. For many, it seemed that his period of mourning was too short.

“Grateful For all the continuous support, condolences & prayers also wanna send condolences on my behalf to Bri’s family and my sincerest apologies last but not least I wanna thank God for another opportunity @ Life and for keeping stable my mental status can’t wait to b back to being able to doing things I love especially my music @bri_xo1 love you always bbg. On behalf of me and the entire team @fully8recordz_ Thank you again.”

The shooting happened at the beginning of September as he and his girlfriend were celebrating her birthday. According to police reports, the couple was in the car park of the Brix hotel in Port-of-Spain Trinidad, sitting in a silver-grey Toyota Carolla at around 2:16 pm when another car approached.

Two gunmen exited and fired at them, hitting them both. They were rushed to the Port of Spain General Hospital, where Bridget sadly passed away.

The “Run Up” artist, who has over six million views for various songs on YouTube, was warded and said to be fighting for his life at the time.

One Twitter user expressed her displeasure with the message.

“The bullet that killed his gf was meant for him & his whole caption is giving ‘Welp.. Sorry it happened but glad it wasn’t me’,” she said, which brought in numerous comments from other Twitter users supporting her stance.

In a more recent post, Kalonji seemed to acknowledge the backlash. In a post that was made earlier today, September 21, he had a more simple and heartfelt caption that read, “Till my last breath b.”

Violence has continually plagued the Trinibad genre, and in the last two years, some artists have fallen victim to gun violence. In May, Trinidadian dancehall artist Fari Dan, who aligned himself with the Squash 6ix camp, was shot and killed.

That shooting happened in Tobago, and he was killed while at a bar on the island on May 15. In 2020, popular artist Kyle’ Rebel Sixx’ George was viciously gunned down inside his home at Viceroy Crescent, Bon Air Gardens, Arouca. He also claimed to be a member of the 6ix.

In one of the latest incidents of violence, unconfirmed reports indicate that the home of another popular Trinibad artist, Prince Swanny, was shot at.

It is believed that a car pulled up, and three men got out of it and shot at the house, some using automatic weapons. Initial reports stated that over 100 spent shells were recovered from the scene by police, but local media later reported that it was about 31.

The “Watch Your Friends” artist is currently in the US, where he continues to tour. He is currently focusing on dropping his upcoming album, Swanology, from his ZTEKK imprint.

Quando Rondo Denies Proposing To His 18-Year-Old Girlfriend, See Video

Black Immigrant Daily News

Quando Rondo has denied that he proposed to his 18-year-old girlfriend over the weekend in a sweet proposal that went viral.

The 23-year-old rapper is making the big decisions when it comes to life as he got down on one knee and proposed to his girlfriend. Quando Rondo can be seen getting on his knee and holding his girlfriend’s hand while she sips from a soda cup. “It seems like forever I’ve waited on you, in a world of disappointment,” the rapper sings to the young woman.

“I’m about to pop the question,” he says to other persons in what looks like a kitchen before turning to his girlfriend and saying, “This is love, baby.”

The rapper might be young, but he has had brushes with death before, and it seems that he is trying to enjoy his life despite the negative things that have happened. Last month, the rapper survived a shooting that was speculated to be a planned attempt on his life.

The incident took place at a Los Angeles gas station, and while Quando escaped with his life, his friend Lul Pab was killed. An emotional Quando could be seen screaming in disbelief after the shooting. Since then, the rapper announced that he was dropping his flag, as he

In the meantime, many social media users reacted to the proposal, with some pointing out that he had put the ring on the wrong ring finger. The girl in the video also did not answer the “Give Me A Sign” rapper’s ‘will you marry me’ question, which was done after he popped the ring on her finger.

Others, however, have a bigger problem with the young woman’s age.

“Why she soo young dawg? Kinda creep,” One person said on Twitter. “Damn nothing fancy ?! No candle light..no beach..but a chair n a foam cup! It’s giving a vibe idk.”

“23 with a 17 year old?” another asked, while one added, “23 with a 17 y/o is wicked behavior.”

It’s unclear how long Quando and his girlfriend have been together, with some suggesting that they have been seeing each other while she was still attending high school. The rapper has not responded to the backlash. Perhaps it was that backlash from fans that prompted him to issue a statement denying that he is engaged.

“No funny sh*t I was playing in that video I’m not getting married I’ll never get married it was just a joke that video months old,” he wrote.

Cali Reggae Band Stick Figure Ends Bob Marley Reign On Billboard Chart

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Urban Islandz

California Reggae Band Stick Figure is now the no. 1 album on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart, dethroning Bob Marley, who has been in the top spot for more than two years.

Bob Marley’s Legend: The Best of Bob Marley and the Wailers was the No. 1 album on the Billboard Reggae Albums Chart for two and a half years. The album has been in the top ten despite several other notable projects shifting it to No. 1 from time to time.

However, there are new reactions to Marley’s project being usurped by a California Reggae Group called Stick Figure. The group’s album Wisdom was released over a week ago before climbing the chart.

According to biographical information shared by Stick Figure, the American reggae and dub band came together in 2006 and has released seven full-length albums and one instrumental album. Based out of Southern California, the group consists of members, producer, and guitarist Scott Woodruff, keyboardist Kevin Bong, drummer Kevin Offitzer, bassist Tommy Suliman and keyboardist, backup vocalist and guitarist Johnny Cosmic, and a dog named Cocoa.

The group’s album is also the No. 1 album on the iTunes Reggae Albums chart. This is not the first successful album for the group, as four of their previous albums were among the top 10 albums on iTunes- World on Fire, Set in Stone, and Burial Ground.

Stick Figure shared gratitude to their fans for supporting their album on Monday (Sept 19).

“Thank you to everyone who’s been listening to Wisdom! It’s been a week since the release and the feedback has been incredible. It’s the best feeling in the world to release new music, and I really appreciate all the love and support from everyone.”

The latest win for Stick Figure has drawn mixed reactions from industry people as well as reggae fans who expressed fear that the genre was being overtaken by non-Jamaicans.

These fears were echoed earlier this year when another California band, Soja, was awarded a Grammy for Best Reggae Album, something that Jamaicans have always dominated but also regarded as the standard since the genre was developed by Jamaicans.

The No. 1 spot for reggae albums is mainly based on album sales or equivalent streams. According to MRC Data, Stick Figure has pure album sales totaling 9,672.

Marley’s album, however, has continually been a staple for fans throughout the year, with several of his albums remaining on the top 10 reggae albums chart despite being momentarily displaced by others.

Tory Lanez Being Investigated By DA For August Alsina Assault, Kicked Off Tour

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Urban Islandz

The Los Angeles District Attorney’s office says that it is investigating the reports that Canadian rapper Tory Lanez allegedly assaulted August Alsina.

On Monday afternoon, the D.A’s office told Complex that Tory Lanez is being investigated over the alleged assault. The involvement of the D.A could spell more legal trouble for the rapper, whose real name is Daystar Peterson.

Peterson is currently out on bond for allegedly shooting fellow rapper Megan Thee Stallion in 2020. The trial for that case was scheduled to begin on Sept 16 but was later pushed back to later in the year.

The D.A said on Monday that the case was being investigated but did not say whether a report was made by August. “We are aware of the allegations that the defendant attacked artist August Alsina and are investigating these claims,” the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office said to the press on Monday night. “The allegations are serious and will be thoroughly examined.”

On Saturday night, Tory Lanez was asked by an Instagram blog about a rumor that he knocked out the R&B singer. The rapper had liked the comment but later backtracked after the blog claimed that he admitted to the incident. Lanez later shared a post on his Instagram story that he was in the studio and didn’t know anything about the rumor.

Shortly after though, August posted a lengthy claim on Instagram where he shared a photo of his bloodied mouth and claimed that Tory Lanez, whom he name-dropped, assaulted him because he didn’t “dap” him. The singer later posted several more photos showing the world the injuries he received during the assault incident.

August Alsina also added that he was not going to speak on the incident, but he shared his side because Tory had leaked information to the blog “to look for a moment.”

Ciara and Summer Walker Teases New Collab “Better Thangs”

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Urban Islandz

Summer Walker and Ciara are making magic again as they teased a new collaboration on the way. The artists came together on Walker’s award-winning album Still Over It on the single “Ciara’s Prayer.”

On Sunday, Ciara shared a tweet that left fans excited. “I’m so excited for my feature on #BetterThangs. Can you guess who it is?” she asked. The tweet was shared with a blurred photo of what looks like two women on the flatbed of a truck. The photo showed two women, but they couldn’t be recognized.

Fans were busy trying to figure out who the person was, with some naming Megan Thee Stallion, Normani, Latto, and even Cardi B as viable options. While Ciara did not confirm the news, Summer had the secret in a hashtag. On her Instagram account, she posted a throwback photo sporting a freshly styled hairdo and had the hashtag, “#betterthangs.”

Fans immediately became aware of the clue but felt convinced that she was the one after Ciara also posted a photo of her bright orange hair and a similar outfit to Walker’s. It could be that the women had been dolled up for their shoot with the same looks. In a caption, Ciara wrote, “Where my twin at??:) #BetterThangs.”

On Monday, a snippet from the track was also shared showing Ciara and Summer wearing matching dresses that looked like gold-toned tape in an abstract design on their body. The video might be dated as it does not show Summer pregnant. The singer’s last pregnancy posts were in mid-August, showing off her burgeoning stomach.

In the meantime, fans also reacted with excitement at the news. “Are we really ready for this VIDEO tho?,” one fan asked.

“Ciara enlisting Summer Walker for her new single is such a smart + right choice. She’s trying to make this one COUNT. I see you, CiCi!,” another wrote.

The track will be featured on Ciara’s upcoming eighth studio album.

The Game Use Ghostwriter For Eminem Diss Track, Says D12’s Bizarre

Black Immigrant Daily News

The content originally appeared on: Urban Islandz

The Game is no stranger to rap beef. In fact, he seems to crave lyrical battles to hone his skills as a rapper. His latest attempt at stirring up trouble was his diss track aimed at Eminem called “The Black Slim Shady.“

That was back in August, and to date, there’s been no response from Eminem, but a member of D12 has an interesting theory behind the origin of the song. According to Bizarre, the track was not even written by The Game but by his former Shady Records labelmate Stat Quo.

Bizarre made the provocative suggestion during a recent appearance on The Bootleg Kev Podcast. Of course, he doesn’t have any solid evidence to support his claim, but he said since he’s very familiar with Eminem’s work, he felt like he heard the “Rap God” rapper’s voice. To add fuel to the fire, Bizarre said that he believed that The Game has much better rapping skills than what was put out on that track.

“I feel like that was a nice little cute intro. He never got out of that, though. He stayed in Marshall’s body for the whole 10 minutes. When we gonna get Game? We know he can do it, so what happened?” he added.

He went on to say that he still firmly believed that either Stat Quo or Game could have done much better than what was offered. Even when Bootleg Kev persisted with the line of questions, the “Under the Influence” rapper maintained his position but did add that he had respect for The Game and that Stat Quo was his friend and an amazing writer.

However, Kev shut down his theory as he explained that he was in the studio with the “Home Invasion” rapper, and he never really saw any ghostwriting happening.

The Game has also spoken about why he did the diss track while being interviewed on The Rap Radar Podcast. He said that the track wasn’t personal, even though he said that his beef with Eminem started when he was at war with 50 Cent.

“I always f***ed with Em [Eminem]. And then the whole Aftermath and the Shady thing and he was on The Documentary,” Game further explained.

The Game revealed that when he started warring with 50, he felt that Eminem had no choice but to pick a side. The Compton native also said that at the time, he had surpassed Eminem. He did admit that he chose to beef with the two rap titans because he felt like hip-hop was getting boring and needed to shake up to keep it interesting.

“Hip Hop’s gotta be interesting. These n-ggas these days are so god damn boring or every time somebody wanna beef, somebody gotta die. Sometimes, ladies and gentleman, it’s just Hip Hop and you can leave it at that,” he said at the time.
