The Cayman Islands chapter of 100 Women in Finance (“100WF”) recently hosted its 8th Annual Barefoot Beach Fundraising Gala to celebrate 100WF’s 10th anniversary in the Cayman Islands, with net proceeds from the evening to benefit 100WF’s Investing in the Next Generation Initiative.

The evening began with guests sipping signature cocktails and eating delectable delights at one of the many food tasting stations at the Kimpton Seafire Resort and Spa Beach Deck while the sun set on 7-mile beach.

Tanis McDonald, 100WF Cayman Gala Co Chair, kicked off the evening by welcoming local dignitaries including his Excellency Martyn Roper, Honorable Deputy Premier Chris Saunders, Honorable Andre Ebanks, Honorable Roy McTaggart and MP Barbara Connolly. Mrs. McDonald also welcome special guests from 100WF including Global Association Board Member Christina Bodden, Chief Executive Officer Amanda Pullinger, and Chief Impact Officer Chaitali Patel.

Amanda Pullinger, CEO, said:

It is hard to believe it has been 10 years since 100 Women in Finance launched a location in the Cayman Islands with a core group of professional women from leading financial services firms, who saw a need for the presence of a professional women’s organization in Cayman. These outstanding women drove its success, building leadership and programmes to promote the organization’s pillars of Education, Peer Engagement and Impact. A decade later, 100WF Cayman has held over 159 members and community focused events spanning our three pillars, developed specific demographic focused initiatives for the finance industry’s Next Generation, raised nearly US$450,000 gross in funds for local charities and supported the community with the creation of 100 Women in Finance’s flagship career mentoring programme GirlForce 100. We celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Cayman Islands location of 100WF tonight, and its groundbreaking work in career mentoring for young women, which 100WF has developed globally and continues to evolve.

Special thanks to Maples Group, Baraud, Walkers, BDO, Deloitte, Cayman Management, Cay Country, Kiss FM, and Magic the Soul of Cayman, and our many raffle prize donors for their sponsorship of the gala.

Proceeds raised stay locally to support GirlForce 100 and the needs based scholarship program which gives the opportunity for Caymanian females to attend local institutions, among other initiatives.
