Jamaica Little League Senior Boys Team will be participating in The World Comes to Palm Beach annual tournament from October 24 to October 31.
“The team is delighted to be able to compete in the Palm Beach Tournament after missing the opportunity to attend the Little League Baseball and Softball International Caribbean Regional Championship tournament in Guayama, Puerto Rico, last June,” said a release from Jamaica Little League Baseball and Softball (JLLBS).
The senior boys team consists of players aged 13-16 years old, from Yallahs, St Andrew Central and Portmore Little League Baseball and Softball.
The Jamaican team will have their hands full, as they will compete against teams from Canada, USA, the Bahamas, Aruba and a number of other powerful baseball countries.
The JLLBS said the tournament will provide the “boys the experience they will need to prepare them to compete in the 2023 Little League Baseball Caribbean Regional Championships, which is scheduled to be held in Puerto Rico in June”.
With just a few days remaining before the team departs from Jamaica on Sunday for the tournament, the JLLBS is seeking sponsorship in the amount of $5,000 US to help to meet their budget.
