The Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS) is advising the public of the below road closures taking place this weekend to facilitate Pirates Fest events.

Seafarers Way

Seafarers Way will be closed between Warwick Drive and Fort Street, from Thursday, November 17, at 10:00pm, and reopen by Sunday, November 20, at 10:00am.

Shedden Road

In addition, Shedden Road will be closed to westbound traffic at Elgin Avenue during these times. Local access to the RBC parking lot for customers will be permitted during business hours on Friday.

Northbound traffic approaching Seafarers Way will be diverted onto Boilers Road, and southbound traffic will be diverted onto Fort Street.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution when travelling in the vicinity of this road closure, and to follow any instructions given by officers, or signage placed on the roadway, to ensure the safety of yourself, other motorists, and pedestrians.

In addition, the public is reminded that, according to the Traffic Act (2021 Revision) Section 116, it is an offense to fail to obey a police road block or barrier. This includes moving or bypassing traffic barriers. Anyone found to be doing so will be prosecuted and is subject to a fine.
