Tropical Depression Eight

According to the National Hurricane Center, Tropical Depression Eight has now formed.
Currently situated over the Central Atlantic, Tropical Depression Eight is moving north and has maximum sustained winds of 35 mph.
If Tropical Depression Eight continues to strengthen, it is possible that it could become a tropical storm.
While no coastal warnings or watches are currently in effect, the National Hurricane Center said that swells generated by the depression may affect the Azores later this week. These swells are likely to cause life-threatening surf and rip current conditions.
Interests in the Azores are encouraged to monitor this development.
